My Kickstarter for Wonderland's War came in last week. My son and I taught it to my wife, he and i had only played it at conventions. She fell in love with it. She said, "I don't like area control or battling games, but this is so exciting!"
Been wanting this game badly. It is a shame that its unobtainable basically. The new campaign does not ship to my country and nobody has been reselling this game in months of looking for it
My favorites (in no particular order) are: Dune Imperium: Uprising A Feast for Odin Arkham Horror: The Card Game Ark Nova Castles of Mad King Ludwig Dead Reckoning Root Modern Art Marvel Champions Heat: Pedal to the Metal I REALLY want to try Hegemony. It looks like it would be right up my alley!
I tried Hegemony once at a game retreat. 90 minutes of rules. 7 hours of game... We were all new. So next time it will be less. But Hegemony is an amazing game. The cool thing is you can just play by feel. What would the Middle class do? Without understanding all the effects. I look forward to my second play in a month.
You guys have easily become my favorite board game channel. I bought Feed the Kraken a month back based on your recommendations and it is a major hit with all of my player groups. Even played it with my family and relatives on Christmas and we all had a blast. Currently heavily thinking what my next game should be. Hegemony feels like a great game to me but I am not sure if anyone from my groups would be into such a heavy game. Wonderlands war would be an instant buy but it is not available to me. Star Wars Rebellion hits hard for me as a Star Wars fan and the game I have thought about the most is Nemesis but I can only get Retaliation currently and it costs around 120€ which is a lot. Kings Dilemma also interests me but I am not sure because of the aspect of it not being reusable for more than a dozen games or so... But anyways love your content. Keep up the great work!
Very good looking list, as always! I absolutely love Spirit Island and Dune Imperium, they are on my top-10 as well. Nemesis and Feed the Kraken won't quite make it, but they are also excellent games that I love to play every now and then and both will stay in my collection for years to come for sure. I just picked up Hegemony and have been struggling to get it played, but I'll have high hopes for it as it seems a blast! My top-10 would probably be: 1. Mage Knight the Boardgame 2. Spirit Island 3. Gloomhaven/Jaws of the Lion 4. Scythe 5. Race for the Galaxy 6. Ark Nova 7. Earth 8. Everdell 9. Through the Ages 10. Cosmic Encounter
Well I have just come to your channel and I really like it. I don't agree with your tastes completely (Nemesis - really, guys are you sure?) But I must say, huge respect for Here I Stand at #1, which I haven't played, but putting something like that at #1 shows a real breadth as reviewers, some gravitas and some integrity. Bravo.

I m glad some of the games are just bought are in ur list and the arguments u give are fully in line with what excited me about them before I bought them. Thanks
Wonderlands War is on a super high demand so all the stores run out of stock constantly. The best way to get it is to either pre-order it or wait for the next Kickstarter campaign. Also might look through Board Game Geek for a used copy if that works for you.
My Top 10 : 1. Dune Imperium 2. Twilight Imperium IV 3.-10. in no particular order Oathsworn, Brass B, Eclipse 2, Gloomhaven, A Game of Thrones, Ark Nova, Kemet, Terraforming Mars

Here I Stand is objectively one of the best games ever created. No reason for it not to be enjoyed by a larger broader audience considering how well huge expensive campaign games do on crowdfunding.

Janis, if "Nemesis" is basically Alien the board game...what is "Alien" the board game, LOL? I hear people say this, but I have never played "Nemesis". I have indeed played "Alien", the board game, though, and it felt thematic to the movie as well. Anyway, love watching the two Janis's and now I will have to watch your Dune comparison video bc I want to know your opinion of the two games.
Of all time? Might want to take a look prior to 1995. These list are getting old. Children that don’t seem to understand games prior to 1995. “All time”?
honestly maybe wait for Retaliation to come out and get reviewed and then see which one will work best for you. I have played the first two and think Lockdown is a little better than the first, but people have different opinions on this. They are very similar (90%+ same mechanics and premise) so don't think you're missing out by only getting one of them. The main difference between Nemesis and Lockdown is the setting. In Nemesis you're on a ship which can be sabotaged while in Lockdown you're in a Martian base where the power is failing and the corporation is going to take a secret contingency measure that will wipe out one of the survival routes. So the original Nemesis is about trying to see if you can fix the ship and trust that other people have fixed it or sabotaged it, whereas Lockdown is about deducing what the corporation's contingency measure will be and then scrambling for a survival route in a doomed base.

Nah, sorry, but Aeon Tresspass is dog sh*t, there are hundreds of games that could be in that top spot.
Uh no. Nobody cares what you think. It’s their list. Sorry.
@@3ull I don't give a fuck. It's still dog shit.
You clearly have terrible taste, so I'm glad you had nothing to do with their list.
Thanks guys! Best boardgame channel. I wish you could do videos commenting on boardgame news
Amazed with how the slash on the information (name, duration, etc.) bar on the bottom matched the dash on the table. Nice details!
so if im about to get one, and only one, nemesis. which one should it be?
honestly maybe wait for Retaliation to come out and get reviewed and then see which one will work best for you.
