Hard plastic against another hard plastic with an engine revving just under them of course they will vibrate and make an annoying buzzing noise . Amazing why the manufacturers don't do what you do in the factory. Your video is great, thanks you made it look so easy,
If the buzz is coming from the instrument panel. when you reassemble put so foam tape by the two black fasteners before you snap them back together. Haven't done it yet but saw a video on the Versys forum page. It is very bloody annoying.
those little black fasteners (pop clips) you dont have to push up from the bottom . you press the middle in then pull the pop clip out then you can reset the center to its full up position before reinstalling. once reinstalled you just push it back to the flush centered position
had a go at this - seems to have got rid of the bulk of the noise but there is still a bit coming from around the centre dial - i've got a big chunk of foam on top and i'm hoping the last of the noise comes from under the dial... maybe!
Awesome clip - I'll be doing this :) Also, a cheeky request - Did I spot a 12v pocket socket at 2:30? If so, would you be able to make a video on how you added it - mostly how it's wired. Ideally I'd want something similar to power a GPS or phone. I've heard wiring to the horn is best...but don't know how. Excellent clip again! :)
I dismounted almost everything but this tiny lip. And obviously it still buzz. I'll try again to this lip and see, as this is the major issue I have with this bike. I always stay under or above the 4000-5000 rpm to avoid the noise
For anyone still looking for a fix on this bike and the ER6f/ninja 650 (on these stick on the top black plastic or on the side faring's that touche it). Rather than use foam, use Sugru or rubber tape, that way it will last much longer, probably the life of the bike. I might do a video for it soon.
Nice fix for this buzz.!-->>>I have a question for any who may know __-> What is the overall stator output for these bikes in watts ? Been considering this bike, and or new one as a replacement for my DL650 ,and I want to run some accessories like heated gear without overtaxing the charging system abilities, if that's possible ? Thanks, yl
Alas ... didn't work for me. But this bike vibrates so much at certain rpms it could be coming from everywhere : ( Only good thing is you don't notice it much via hands or feet. But the noise is annoying.
Thanks Steve!!!... I just picked up a 2007 Versys 650 and I notice it right away. I can't believe the previous 3 owners didn't do anything about it.

Fixed it big thanks, I just bought the bike, I can't believe that the previous owner tolerated the buzz!
Thanks for this....It's loooooong overdue, can't believe nobody has posted it before! Good fix.
I just picked up a used 2009 and had this issue. Thanks for the help and the fix!

Man I wish you had a 2010+ model :( A video would be great to figure how to fix it on those too.
I always wear earplugs when I ride my versys.
