Edit: 2 years later and I finally realize just how stupid my low vocabulary for writing a story was. Also thank you guys for the positive feedback despite my horrible writing. I used the word "Only" way too much. Long ago, in a painted world, with no signs of a single ember, there was a young sorcerer. Only in the painted world of Ariandel did he not feel that it was his home. So, with a clear mind, and a steady journey, he left in search of the profaned flame. In search of this flame, he had discovered the land of Irithyll. Not many difference in this snow covered kingdom, but he would soon find there what he had been searching for. Deep in Irithyll, below the castle, he found the remains of a lost civilization. Treasure spilled across the ground in a single hallway, living stone gargoyles, and of what was seen as many human bodies burnt and mushed together from the ash. He felt sickened from the sight, but only until he found the profaned flame. when he reached out to touch it, and gazed into the fire, did nothing change. Reaching out to it did his hand not burn, he was okay, but he felt something change on the inside. With the power of the flame burning inside of him, he had become a young sorcerer no longer, but instead he felt the need to rule. in the depths of Irithyll, he had attained dark power that no man should possess. With it, he had grown his army, and within a day he reigned his might across the kingdom. With the power of his magic, and the flame, he had most likely become the king of Irithyll. Not many survived his tyranny, but only did he spare the lives of the citizens who he would turn into monsters. He had turned the people into abominations. He made some into his watchdogs, one that would watch the bridge for trespassers. Some he turned into his soldiers who roam the streets, some who turned into a human spider of many legs and hands that had an open rib cage that would become their mouth. But not all of them had been lost the their monsterous instincts for their master. For in the watchdogs lost moments, they will pray, praying for their life to be put to end from this torture. But only by a couple did his soldiers capture that he would make his own watchful eyes. A married two, who he transformed that would be put in the kingdom of lothric. He put Vordt of the boreal valley to watch the entry gates for anyone trying to get out. Then put Vordts wife, who their master had turned into his own dancer at one point in their life, to watch the inside of the church not far from where vordt was. They may have been turned into abominations, but they were not far from each other from being alone. In the sorcerers ruling, he had found one of Gwyns children, Gwyndolin, who he had fed to the devourer of gods, Aldritch. The sorcerer was a king, and had adorned a crown upon his head, and made the only two swords of their kind. One greatsword that is adorned with magic power, and a large greatsword that had the power of the flame that was burning inside of himself. With his power, his name would spread across the lands, for his was... Pontiff Sulyvahn. Years later, somehow, the two lovers Vordt and the dancer have begun to make their own choices. They were no longer going to follow their masters rules. And so, they set out to Irithyll to see their master. Only when they reached the church he was in at the time did Pontiff see his two watchful eyes right in front of him, and felt disgust for them abandoning their posts he set them to. Normally his subjects would bow in his presence, but the lovers did not show a single sign of it. Pontiff knew what this has come to, and accepted the duel. With the dancer making the first move, Pontiff went straight for Vordt. He knew how they fought, and made Vordt his first target. With the battle only lasting for a minute did Pontiff suddenly fall to the ground in what looked like defeat. Only then did dark power start flowing around him and grew dark wings. This was Pontiffs true power. The same power he had used long ago the turn Irithyll into his kingdom. This had seem to be certain doom for Vordt and the dancer but they didn't give up, not when they had come so far. If they were to die, they would die to finally be free from their cursed forms. Within the next moments of battle, the dancer had become enraged so much that she used the dark powers that Pontiff had given her long ago to pull out of the ground her dark sword. Swords slashes against each other, and magic and fire spreading across the church lighting it ablaze, but Vordt was old, and not so evading as his lover was. And so, with one strike from their once was master, Vordt of the boreal valley was killed. But only when he died did the dancer look at his remains of ashes and see his face as he died did she feel that he was happy. She had make the thought that he was finally free, but not only was Vordt slain, the dancer had become so enraged that she would fight until her last breath. Pontiff had grown more power in the fight, but with the many slashes of her swords was Pontiff seeming to look weaker. Pontiff making one final leap into the air, with the power of the profaned flame burning his sword was he about to land one final blow. Only to his surprise, the dancer was readying a dark explosion around the ground where she was standing. Only from their final slash of battle did the odds seem unknown of who would survive. Pontiff dove down to land the hit and created a large fire explosion. Embers had filled the scene, but at the last moments, the dancer had launched her dark explosion where Pontiff had been standing, and killed the king. Pontiff sulyvahn drawing his last breath, and dropping his swords the ground did he disappear into ashes. The king... was dead. with that final hit, the dancer was free but her love Vordt payed the greatest price of it all. But only by the cause of his death did the dancer find the strength to finish the fight. The dancer was free but would live the rest of her days as the abomination she was turned into. She left the church and made it the the bridge she was captured at all those years ago. She dropped her swords to the ground, and the only last bit she carried was the soul of Vordt. He was gone, but Pontiff was dead, and his death was not in vain. With a clear mind, and a steady journey, she left Irithyll, to make a new living. The End. (I do not know why I did this, but if you read the entire thing, Thank you. I did try to add in as much lore as I knew about Pontiffs story, but the comments in the video inspired me to make this.)
Vordt: This time will do it together Dancer: I was just about to say that Pontiff: Your swords please we don't want to make a mess of things Infront of Aldrich
By some miracle, Vordt and the Dancer had managed to find their senses, to realize the monsters they had become. But they both knew who to blame for it: Sulyvahn. Thus, the couple left in the direction of their city of origin, Irithyll of the Boreal Valley. Vordt and the Dancer burst into the great cathedral, where they found themselves facing the guilty of their tragic fate. Sulyvahn seemed disappointed, but not so surprised at the coming of his two creatures that he had so meticulously created and manipulated for his own purposes. Taking his swords, the cruel Pontiff made them understand that he would not let it be and would be happy to remind them who is the master. Driven by the desire for revenge, Vordt and Dancer did not want to back down, weapons in hand and having nothing more to lose, threw themselves into the fight against their deceitful creator. The fight was most violent, each of the three fighters putting all their power in their attacks. Vordt and Dancer unleashed their fury, while Sulyvahn, despite his numerical inferiority, relied on his malice and experience and managed to hold out against both opponents. Vordt, despite all his rage and desire for revenge, and having suffered a lot of damage during the fight, ended up sacrificing himself, and the Dancer, enraged by the death of her companion, delivered the fatal blow which slayed the abominable Pontiff, and thus ending once and for all to his evil plans.
I feel the most canon thing that would happen here if they came to their senses would be to seek refuge in the Painted World, they would be too afraid at first to just up right away for revenge. The Painted World is for the terribly afflicted, which Vordt and the Dancer are.

Vordt was a straight hero that match. Gave his life but did a lot of damage. Great content as always.
Man, you just silently answering prayers or something?
Also taking note about how Vordt's aggro didn't stay in his ramming attack for very long, or use his projectile.
Eh, NPC AI is inconsistent.
There are a lot of random attack in scripts. If the fight is short, NPCs/Enemies might not perform all moves
@@bonfirevn
I may not be a programmer but I also happened to understand this.
Thanks though! The fight was entertaining in its own way.
I'm still impressed they can even fight each other
@@_zealos_8213 even more impressive, keeping the Boreal Valley Duo Friendly so their AOE' s dont hurt each other
Im honestly glad vordt never did his breath attack. The fist bashing was... Welcomed, I've never seen that attack before
2:36 i can't understand the dancer, when she gets in a good location to use the full power of the *S P I N* she just stops, c'mon dancer you never stopped when i tried to run from you
Its because that attack is meant to catch a player who is running away with multiple strikes before getting in close to do the finisher move. But since the Pontiff mostly stays right on top of her (whether because of size or just slower moving because he's a boss) it procs her to finish out the combo.
I think that, according to the game's lore, this is the most epic fight you've uploaded. My hearth was supporting Sulyvan, as he was giving a lesson to his subordinates, but thinking about what he has done to them, he deserves it.
The Dancer after Vordt dies:
"Vordt...my dear Vordt, you have fallen against who turned us in a mindless beasts.
Now, it's time to feel the power of our silent pain, Sullyvahn"
Cringe
@@kissshot4053 I find it fitting because the Pontiff is the one who turned Dance and Vordt into monsters ala Sauron who gave Nine Men his rings and turned them into his Ringwraiths
@@kissshot4053 lol
Cringe, cuz she can't speak, but nice attempt.
When the two servant and former lover reunites within the high walls, they realized the betrayal that the pontiff had done, with what little humanity they had left, they decided to take their anger, frustration, and hate back to the man who caused their suffering, they serve him, but he had curse them and their bretheren, they will now serve him no longer.
They will defy him, even if it meant discarding their lives, their attacks filled with such animalistic rage, and the pontiff simply dispatched them, as to him, they were nothing more than beasts, and maybe they were, but now in death, they were free, released from the pontiff's evil clutch
God tier man good job
Amazing
We finally knew the real story behind of the characters. Amazing job, thanks to you, I understand now what life pontiff and his servants had
Honestly, I've gotta say I was not expecting something so in-depth. might want to clean it up a bit in the future, though.
@@christopherbravo1813 I forgot about this. I was so little on my vocabulary on stories back then, now I feel embarrassed by old work!
I’ve been looking forward to this :)
Dancer: I shall avenge you my love!!
Sulyvahn: NANI!?
Pontiff: You can't beat me...
Vordt: I know... But she can...
Dancer: *Elegantly and Eloquently Takes Care of Business*
Pontiff: Kills Vordt.
Dancer: YOU’LL PAY FOR YOUR INSOLENCE WITH YOUR LIFE!
The dancer, has finally had her revenge.
Sometimes I forget how huge Vordt is. He makes Salyvahn’s boss room look small as hell.
dancer: *parrys the f**k out of him
Sulyvahn: *you were not supposed to do that*
This has so many levels of epic ...... its beautiful
Vordt: This time will do it together
Dancer: I was just about to say that
Pontiff: Your swords please we don't want to make a mess of things Infront of Aldrich
Pontiff: "two on one? Let's make this fair"
*summons his shadow clone
Priest: **abuses kid**
Mom and dad:
Dancer of the Boreal Vally: "Sullivan, you are my master no longer!"
Oh how the turns have tables
You mean how the turned have tables
Dancer at the end: “We did it Vordt, we’re free.” *cries* “we’re free.”
Vordt's sacrifice will never be forgotten
I love how this story-like battle of 'Husband & Wife Seeking Revenge' concluded in an epic, positive triumph. ✨💖✨
"Sorry Mrs. Dancer, you can "Grab 'n' Stab" me"

What you did was monstrous Pontiff. Now your monsters have returned to claim what's owed.
- Vordt & The Dancer
The Dancer of the Boreal Valley is my second favorite boss in the game. See her team up with Vordt, another favorite, and kick pontiff's stupid ass was satisfying. Even though Vordt went down, they did good...
A truly epic clash of beasts and monsters. Thank you for fulfilling our request, Bonfire.
So maybe some humanity have remained in the beasts? All this time they felt the pain of madness and now they’re getting their revenge with the little sanity that remained?but at what price and if the revengance now even matters?
The Ashen One helped Vordt and Dance regain some humanity enough for them to get revenge on Pontiff and die free
To dethrone a dictator you cant be alone. You have to use all of your power and overwhelm him with numbers even if some will die.

I forgot about that part
So happy dancer won since she is one of my favourite bosses. Fight gets rather easy (and more fun) if you concentrate on the music and sync your own moves with it. My cute little strengh/ dex build became a dancer herself.
They have come for revenge...
I really loved this fight, dancer and vordt getting revenge against the damn pontiff
They finally decided to take ravenge into their hands, and face the man that enslaved them.
They finally got their revenge
This went exactly as I thought it was going to go. Suly killing Vordt, and the Dancer ripping into Suly.
The well-deserved vengeance we all wanted to see coming. And Vordt valiantly gives himself up.

I like it when u make videos like this one where we can even make up a little bit of lore behind it. Here is Pontiff fighting his own creation
Retribution! I'm surprised how well Pontiff held his own against the two, killed Vordt and got Dancer remarkably low, thought he'd last less since Dancer can be very aggressive
From a Lore standpoint... this fight was REALLY satisfying
Yeah screw pontiff, not that he was a hard fight but what he did in lore. Thank you VaatiVidya

“In the name of lord Gwyn, you’re under arrest Sulyvhan”
“Are you threatening me Outrider?”
“The Pontiff will decide your fate”
“I AM THE PONTIFF!..”
“Not...yet”
“It’s treason then...”

Dancer: We have returned to cleanse the world of your vulgar reign, "Pontiff".
Pontiff: Surely you've gone mad, "Princess".

Pontiff: I've granted you power.
Vordt: You condemned us to a frigid purgatory of your own creation! Forced to wander the land as raving beasts! Did you think we're weak? That we'd to lose ourselves in the profanity of your wicked arts?
Dancer: You slaughtered my family. Forced me to dance at your every command, then warped my very soul into an abhorrent monstrosity!! Do you think I would diffidently resign myself to this despoliation of my being because you spared my life?!!
Pontiff: Oh, how very imperceptive of me to grant you mercy. Fine, if you wish to be free of the gifts I so graciously bestowed on thee... as pontiff, I have no choice but to fulfill thine requests.
