      I have a kinesiologist who recommended kefir 15 years ago where I make my own with grains and whole milk (I’m lactose intolerant) amazing how I can treat myself with no bloating or upset tum to breads and the allergies to foods and even hay fever has died down. Kefir now available in most supermarkets now in uk, in yoghurt or drink form. Read up on it. It does make you a little windy for a few days but take it in small portions until your gut gets used to it. Best have it as plain as you can to get full benefits. Added sugars or honey kills the bacteria. So watch out for ingredients in shop bought produce. I eat it first thing in morning but not near to bedtime as it’s Live bacteria it can keep you awake.

    Nice recipe. Actually, theres also a very delicious and creamy recipe my old aunt in the southern luzon philippines. It was a generation from generatiom passed-down simple recipe from a small remote village from sorsogon:
    • 5-6 sweet potato, washed & cleaned
    • 1 spoon of Brown Sugar (optional)
    • 1/2 cup or a 1 cup Grated/shaved coconut
    • 1 glass of Coconut milk
    1.Wash and boil 5-6 sweet potato until soft(with skin on)
    2. Scoop out 60%-70% of each boiled sweet potato make sure to NOT make a hole through the potato. (Potato skin still on)
    3. Put the scooped out sweet potato into a bowl and mash it.
    4. After mashing it, put grated/shaved coconut meat and add 2 tbsp brown sugar into the mix(sugar is optional, some of the ingridients are already sweet) You can also add a bit of coconut MILK in the mix.
    5. Put the mix back into the sweet potato you have scooped some out. Fill each with good amount.
    6. Get a pot and put the filled sweet potatoes inside the pot lay it face up to where the filling should not spill out.
    7. Pour in 1 & 1/2 (or 1 glass) of coconut milk.
    8. Bring to a boil (do not put the pot lid on) until coconut milk is absorbed and reduces into a little thick consintency...
    9. Serve hot. Enjoy 🥳

    I'm watching from the Philippines. Here we usually boil the sweet potato and eat it. Others fries the sliced or frenched sliced the sweet potato in oil and add brown sugar until it until it turns into caramelized sugar. Great for snacks. However, I prefer the simplier way. Saves time, oil, gas and avoids sugar. The simplier, the easier the better for me. But if you get bored, you can try other ways.

    In the Las Filipinas, (traditional Philippines), we don't mix all the ingredients you mentioned. We eat them separately in one plate.
    The sweet potatoes are boild whole.
    We place the honey or sugar in a smaller plate. We scrape fresh coconut meat. And we boil the eggs (with the potatoes to save time 😂).
    Once everything is ready. We get a slice of sweet potato, add some shredded coconut, then dip into honey. Eat, then take a bite of boild egg with or after the sweet potatoes. Then a sip of very hot brewed coffee. Under a hut. In an afternoon. With your friends or work mates in the field.

      Sweet potato is also full of carbs (27g per 130g). For reference, a can of coke has 11g of carbs per 100g. If you do that VERY difficult math , a sweet potato has double the carbs of coke. Do your research before just blindly believing things are "healthy".

    • @Morese56
      @Morese56 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just FYI the reason not to eat bread especially from this country is wheat is toxic that converts to sugar in our bodies! Not to mention it sprayed with glyphosate while it’s growing and then an again it sprayed before harvest because it drys out the wheat heads not to gum up the machinery. Then it ground up into a fine flower which has all that glyphosate that it was sprayed with. It doesn’t go away. I talk to a farmer once in eastern Washington who said that all that is growing in those massive fields are toxic mostly because one to two tons of top soil is lost every year and there is no way to get it back! So the only way to grow anything out there is by using a lot of chemical fertilizers! Even organic has issues. However if you can buy flour from Europe where they don’t use glyphosate you’re a little better off. It seems always to be a cost of everything we eat or don’t. But, As long as you’re happy? So enjoy that bread:) peace

    It should be the other way around: first cook the sweet potatoes with their skins ( in an oven or an air fryer) for 30 min, then peel them and mash them and follow the rest of the instructions. This way they keep their nutrition value and they don't get soaked in water ( though I don't eat sweet potatoes for a while now cause I'm following keto).

    • @sfernandezponce
      @sfernandezponce ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@kevino3881 I would usually use two medium-sized potatoes, 1 small onion about 2-3 eggs. You would need appox 1 table spoon of olive oil for the pan.
      Dice the onion and fry it until it is soft, I add the diced potatoes. I like to cut them small, and fry them with the onion. Some people deep fry these, but I prefer to just cover the pan so that they finish cooking with the steam. In a bowl, wisk the eggs and add salt and peper. Once the potato is cooked, remove it from the pan (without the oil, if possible) and add it in the bowl. Mix with the other ingredients. Then, in a NON-STICK pan (very important), add a little olive oil and then the mix. Once cooked on one side, cover with a plate that fits the pan and flip as done in this vid. I usually use a cloth to flip it in case the plate is too hot or any excess oil or mix comes out during the flipping. Cook on the other sice, serve and enjoy hot or cold.

    Has anyone made this yet? I just did and was so disappointed it didn't come out the way it did in the video. I used the regular orange sweet potato and due to the very soft consistency after its boiled, it didn't come out like hers so just some advice, which she didn't emphasize, make sure you use the kind of sweet potato she did for your results to be similar. I wish she had made that clear. But I learned the hard way. Wish you the best!!

      To get similar results using orange kind, you will need some kind of absorbent like flour, corn or wheat powder. That is to take away the water that potato has and more eggs to hold it together because of extra ingredients. Just like meatloaf? But it’s complicated so just use that identical white one. Red one will be okay too. Only the orange problematic
