- A club that had played out over 100 years of football in the English third and fourth divisions went from those very depths to the top-flight, the Premier League, in just seven years. This is their story, and how a seaside town's dream became reality.
Through interviews with key figures, including ex-players, staff, broadcasters and supporters, the documentary provides an intimate and personal insight into the minds of those who witnessed and helped orchestrate one of the greatest rises in English Football.

Class documentary, Olly 👏
Much appreciated. ❤️🍒
Having just seen this in my recommended section, I just want to say what an amazing documentary
What an emotional documentary that will touch peoples hearts. So many memories. If only my beloved auntie and uncle were alive who were there in the sixties supporting the cherries till their passing, to think they are now Premier League I doubt they would believe me.
What a journey it has been, thank you for the kind comment - glad it brought back some memories. 🍒❤️
I thoroughly enjoyed this brilliant documentary. What a bright future we've got to look forward to. I've been a fan for 67 years and can't believe where we are and where we are going.
Thank you for the kind words, Paul. It’s an incredibly exciting future on the horizon. Thank you for tuning into the doc. 🍒❤️
This is an absolute triumph. It captures the emotions of the rollercoaster that has been the past twenty years perfectly.
Brilliantly shot, storyboarded and edited.

Great stuff Olly, and loved this documentary for who supported the Cherries since Richard Cooke’s debut in 11/1986 - 75p entry at Half Time to the South End against Carlisle in a 2-1 win! Proud of the club in making strides since and great to have all those incredible memories flooding back through this great documentary! Superb mate👏
Thank you for the comment! Great season to start watching the club that 86/87 season, and so many great moments since - here's to many more in the future! Appreciate your kind words. ❤️🍒
This was absolutely excellent. As someone else said, very emotional. As someone who found Bournemouth when they joined the PL the first time around, I always love learning more about the history. Thank you for all the time you put in to this.
Thank you for the kind words, Deborah - no problem at all. Glad it helped paint the picture of the towns rise! ❤️🍒

WOW 🤩Only just found this on TH-cam now (3 months late - sorry!). Such a great docco, well done Olly!
Well done Olly - it is such a positive documentary. It is not just football, you showed that football touches people's emotions in so many ways. From Cape Town South Africa
Teams like Bournemouth, Brighton, and Pompey have enhanced the Premier League in different ways over the years. Kudos to the South Coast.
Great video! A trip down memory lane.
Thank you! Glad it could bring back some memories for you. 🍒😁
Just watched this brilliant viewing well done
An absolutely brilliant documentary, a bit of a tear jerker at times.😉😂
Really appreciate that, Neil. Believe me there was tears whilst creating it too! 🍒😂
My elder sister lived in Bournemouth, her husband took me to Dean Court a few times in the early 1980s. I don't remember too much about it, I think Bournemouth had a keeper called Kenny Allen? Loved the town and the locals, this video bought back a lot of good memories. Thank you. 😊👍
Amazing Olly, thank you for all your hard work, well worth it
Thank you, Carol! No problem at all, much appreciated 🍒
I just returned to the UK and my hometown of Bournemouth after 25 years living abroad to see family. One of the stops I simply had to make was to King's Park and the stadium to buy something, anything to remember my time as a kid growing up in Bournemouth and the club. It was extremely moving for me and I think the guys working the club shop thought I was a bit of a nutter!
Can I say this one of the best documentaries I've seen, glad to see Bournemouth flying I hope they get the results they need this season to progress apart from the Everton game 😂 cos we need it more
Amazing documentary loved every minute of it well done olly
Cheers, Liam! Glad you enjoyed the film. ❤️🍒

Mark Mcadam mentions a game in 1997 against Bristol city. My memory was that the game was a 0-0 against Blackpool…

@@OllyMay yeah found it really
Informative.. 👍
Brilliant documentary! Makes me proud to be a Bournemouth fan! Up the Cherries!
Cheers, George 🍒 UTCIAD
Great doc, although were Luton Town once called Luton City? I don't remember that.
I noticed that too, also Derby being shown as Derbu.
But a very good documentary in any case.
Apologies!! Lots to look out for, I likely missed a few issues!
Brilliant documentary! UTCIAD 🍒
Thank you for the kind words. 🍒🍒🍒
Amazing! UTC🍒
Appreciate it, Kieran. 🍒🍒
Great documentary Olly. Some emotional memories in it. if you ever do another edit and want to use my pitch invasion video when we got to the premier league first round you are more than welcome.
Thank you mate! Beyond Dean Court 2? 😄
That was great. Glued to it from the start.
Much appreciated! 🍒
Remember queing up at the South end when I was 13 years old now 66 2 best ever games villa at home 3-0 to the cherries and Margare 11-0 with Ted scoring 9 goals and it rain heavily that day
That was absolutely brilliant. Fair play to you. 95% of that time line happened whilst I've supported the club so definitely opened some wounds remembering it 🤣 Hopefully Bill has a quality plan so your next one in the future can be about the "tinpot' Europa league winners or something 😜🤣🤣 Well Done though, was really good stuff.
Haha cheers, mate! Yeah wouldn’t mind Beyond Dean Court 2 being a European journey. 🤞😉🍒
Brilliant video … our journey continues … next a new or develop current stadium please Mr Foley ⚽️🍒
Really appreciate the comment. Looking forward to the future!! 🍒🍒
I think the parading of the 86/87 trophy was a hastily arranged friendly V Norwich, even though we had been promised the party to end all parties if we got promoted. The season had ended so it couldn't have been Oldham.
I couldn’t find any documentation of it online. The images used in the documentary were only from Fulham. I’m sure we paraded the trophy a few times, though! 🍒
@@OllyMay My bad. We played Rotherham at home in the League after Fulham. Nine days later was Norwich, watched by a crowd of around 6k
❤
Up the Cherries, I never had an affinity to Bournemouth but fair play to them.
Bloody hell - Mark McAdam saved Eddie's job 🤯
Butterfly effect is crazy! 🍒❤️
@@OllyMay A really wonderful job Olly. Morgan's closing comments at the end were perfect too - UTC 🫡
One of the shareholders has bought new A league Franchise Auckland FC my home city
Please tell me your still doing your transfer deadline show!! ❤❤❤ The only one I watch better then sky sports or any of them
I likely will be, yeah! Appreciate the kind words.
84 percent want inclusivity thank you and good luck bournemouth x
Fan from USA! I chose this team because they are dogs. They fight like a hungry pack of wolves. Cherries up!
🍒🍒 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Not knowing anything about Jimmy Quinn? He played for us in 1991-2 and scored 19 goals. Terrible manager though.
Jesus, that music a bit OTT!
To be a Premiership club A new rule the club must have capacity at least 30,000 so clubs like Bournemouth Luton and Burnley can't playing premiership.
didnt mention lgbt olly as a bournemouth fan thats not good enough lets be clear we support lgbt 100 per cent
Only just over half an hour through this and this is absolutely phenomenal mate the attention to detail you have put into this and the work done has really shown as this is so well put together, you should be proud of yourself mate🫶
Really appreciate that mate, hope you enjoyed the rest of it! 🍒
