Had he born as a Canadian, Vinnie Jones would have been a perfect fit for a hockey enforcer or intimidating defenseman playing in the 80's and 90's. NHL used to have plenty of tough guys like him, but those days are gone.

I watched Vinnie play well for Leeds, I think that Gordon Strachan had a lot to do with that if truth be told. But credit to Vinnie, he did improve as a player at Leeds. Sadly after he left Leeds he went back to his normal self on the pitch. Great memories though, that one season at Leeds.

    I was born in '81.
onw of my earliest memories is the build up to that iconic cup final between Liverpool, who were all conquering at the time, and little old Wimbledon.
I remember Dave Beasants goalline antics in the penalty shootout, and this wild man called vinny Jones.
I can only speak for myself, but I'm sure most young lads in England who watched that cup final will remember vinny Jones.
    I love the fella.
Ive heard all the stories of his charity work, his community spirit, and love the way he always took the time to spend it with the disabled kids at Leeds.l and at other clubs and places he's been.
He loves his wife, and his kids, and has provided for them a wonderful life. at the end of the day, when Al is said and done, it's how you treat your loved ones which truly matter.
everything else is just additional benefits.
vinny did his job, and that's a fine thing to say about any man.

@@RoyRagn pub players don't play for the clubs he did. I am not a football supporter but I know there's levels in all sports. You don't reach the level he did without some talent. If you could reach the top by being fit and chopping someone down I should of made aswell. Its even said in the film he could play well and they certainly know a bit more than you or me. He was never going to be one of greats. All club's need there work horses
