Santai is my favourite gym I’ve trained at. Awesome people and the trainers are great. I love the area the gym is based also, nice and quiet with no distractions
I loved Santai. Yeah Sankamphaeng is a cool little village.
It is important that you discuss what you want to gain from your training. If your basics are 100% correct, you may ask them to teach you the technique. Combo or defense method After you're done with everything, you can move on to learning advanced techniques from Muay Thai legends.
100% agree
Nice one cheers for the upload
Thanks for the comment pal!
good stuff, keep your motivation up
Thanks 🔥
😍Thank you for sharing, enjoyed your awesome video!
🔥Love Muay Thai.🙏💕
Thanks so much for watching 👊🏻
Great video. Thank you
Thanks a lot! Appreciate it 👍🏻
I love your video man! I'm from the Philippines, started learning Muay Thai 4 months ago, planning to go to Thailand next summer. Subscribed as well.
Awesome! I'm actually in the Philippines now travelling around to all the gyms here. I'm about 10 videos behind. Where about are you from?
@@fightervault I'm from Manila, the capital city. Welcome to the Philippines, hope you enjoy your stay here, theres a few good gyms around the metro, like the newly opened Tiger Muay Thai, The Lab, and some authentic/traditional gyms like Weera Gym and AJJ Gym.
Great info. Thanks and subscribed!
Thanks for your comment 👊🏻
Nice vids! All the gyms look very nice and welcoming.
Thanks so much! Yeah they were all super welcoming for sure.
thanks so much bro ill arrive next week
Enjoy mate!
cool video. i was at Chiangmai Muay Thai gym earlier this year. had a pretty great experience & they'll get ya in fighting if you want it. highly recommend them
Cheers mate. Awesome! Yeah I think I went super early on the weekend so didn’t meet many people. Had a good session there 😁
This was exactly what I was looking for, really well presented and informative. Thanks for that, great video.
Do you know if any of the gyms you trained at offer education visas as part of continued training?
Once again great content cheers bro 🙏🏻
Thanks for your comment bro!
I thinks Chiangmai Muay Thai Gym and Dang do but i'm not sure about the others :)
Some of my favorite gyms! looking ffwd to return to CM soon
One of my favourites cities! Theres still so many I want to visit in Chiang Mai 👊🏻
Great video thanks! I was in Chiang Mai in April at the BoonLanna Muay Thai camp, I'm really surprised that this wasn't on your lis, It's a great Camp with successful Mountain Boys and Foreigners all winning belts.
Thanks for your comment! I actually booked a session at Lanna to film but ended up driving to their old gym by mistake! I've only heard good things about it though 👍🏻
Yeah I nearly made the same mistake too!@@fightervault
Theres Lanna and then there's Boon Lanna Muay Thai I'm talking about Boon Lanna @@greatrug427
Thanks!
Anytime 👍🏻
Hey there!
Just stumbled upon your video after looking to spend a great time in Chiang Mai.
A friendly tip to make your kicks better 8:20 , make sure you rotate more from your hips your shoulder facing behind you.
Hey :)
Thanks for your comment and the advice! I'll give that a try for sure 👊🏻
boss video mate
Cheers mate!
New subscriber, enjoying your content, found you when I was researching Chiang Rai gyms! I went to Chaing Mai to train in November and went to 3 different gyms, the only one we both went to was Dang. I went to The Bear and Sting. My favourite was Sting, then Bear, then Dang. Wasn't a big fan of the energy at Dang, just didn't feel very welcoming/friendly and the group class wasn't capped so it was way too busy and not enough space for us all. Sting was small, very clean, great for beginners (I've only been doing muay Thai for a few months), great location, and I met really nice folk there who invited me to social stuff. The Bear was epic, but the workout was a bit intense and left me too gassed so I needed to sleep again after, also the floor was constantly wet and slippery.
If you come to Bangkok, gotta try FA Group, that's my favourite so far
Thanks for your comment! Interesting for sure to see how everyone has different experiences in certain gyms.
I'll check out sting for sure! I also have a video coming out featuring FA group :)
@@fightervault yes! I left the comment before I got to the end where you said exactly that! Top advice. You gotta do a few sessions at a gym before you know if their vibe is a good match.
Looking forward to your FA Group video!
Just got to CM and want to train, you legend this is my perfect video! Sub'd thanks!
Thanks so much for your comment! There are a few others I didn't get to try (Lanna, Manop and Stinger to name a few) but you'll have a great time wherever you choose :)
I will be in chiang mai next week, ive tried dang muay thai already and thinking going to another
Any recommendation ?
Love your content man, greetings from France 😊
Hi mate,
Thanks for your commend :)
Depending on where you're staying check out - Santai, Lanna, Manop and Hong Thong.
There's so many to choose from 😂
Stumbled upon your video and as a fellow muay thai addict, I immediately subscribed! I noticed you mentioned Manop gym to one of the comments here, was wondering if you managed to get a session there and if so what did you think of it? Heard only good things about that gym, especially how they focus on technique and kru manop being the ex trainer to Saenchai. Might just want to make the trip to Thailand next year to train there and would love to hear your thoughts on it.
Thanks for subscribing! I personally haven't trained there but it's on my list of gyms to visit. I've also heard some great things about it.
So interesting. I had a terrible class at Chiang Mai Muay Thai gym where a teacher lit into me and then I responded by boxing him on the ropes. Second round I could tell he was going to light me up so I right crossed him and not one of the dozen teachers made any effort to talk it through so I took my gloves off and walked off never to return. I train at Thapai Gate Muay Thai and they are simple chill and don't push sparring beyond what you feel like. Cool trainers too.
Thanks for your comment. That's sound awful mate. I've had something similar in the Philippines with a trainer trying to rough me up! I'll check out that gym for sure next time I'm in Chiang Mai 👊🏻
Thank you for sharing; I love the presentation.
I'm attracted to the humble, passionate communal training culture of Thailand Muy Thai gyms, open indoor-outdoor spaces with high ceilings, and variety of training and classes. But I'm a juggler.
Would I be welcomed to primarily self-train at one of these gyms with my juggling equipment?
Aloha!
This is sick! Great work man! I am a complete beginner to the sport and would love to try this out for a month or so in thailand. Are classes available for beginners or is there prior learning required?
Thanks so much! Yeah classes are available for beginners. Honestly 99% of gyms are really friendly. One thing I'd say is to make sure you commit to a few before signing up somewhere for a month 💪🏻
@fightervault okay great thanks! Why is that? Is that to get the right fit or?
If you had to pick your favourite?
Hmmm - it's a tough one as I genuinely enjoyed them all. I'd say Dang Muay Thai due to the vibe and location. If I was going to go and purely train Muay Thai I'd go for Santai. Manop and Lanna are also really good but both a bit outside of Chiang Mai.
Cheers! I have a short trip to Chiang Mai coming up staying in the old town to Dang is perfect. Enjoying your videos, keep up the good work 🥊
@@fightervaultyou should do a vlog on Lanna muay thai...
BTW my favourite gym from this vlog was Danna muay thai place looks cool
@@matthewadams1874 I actually booked a session but ended up driving to their old location the other side of the city 😂Will check out in December for sure!
I would like to train for 1 month in Chiang Ma. Would you recommend any of this gyms for a month of technical training??? Thank you.
Santai, Lanna, Manop and Hongthong. But honestly, I think you can learn good technique at most gyms in Thailand.
@@fightervault Thank You much.
Hey man I’m heading to Thailand soon to train/travel, just a bit worried as I have a slight knee injury (10moths ago partially tore ACL) just worried incase it gets worse from sweeps etc or will they understand and work around it?
Hey man, Just let the trainer know at the start of the class and every time a trainer grabs you for pad work and you should be fine. 99% of gyms will be understanding.
how do you even go there long term?
You can get a tourist visa for up to 3 months or some Muay Thai gyms offer education visas also 👍🏻
Should you have your own equipment (gloves, bandages, shinguards)??
Most gyms have equipment you can borrow for your first few classes. After a fee classes you'll definitely want to get your own gear!
Thank you 👍
One more question. How much are genuine leather gloves on Thailand.Example Fairtex,Top King, Twins...12 OZ
are you still in thailand?
Heading to India today to train there. I'll be back in Chiang Mai in a few months!
India!? What martial art will you study there if i may ask?@@fightervault
👌🤏🤌
👊🏻👊🏻
900 & 1000 baht for a private is dear for CM.
