Sorry guys. I think you got a bad piece of durian. Even for (picky) Thai people, we have to get it from a reputable place or the seller we know. The ripeness can affect the flavor, smell, and texture big time. Some people like it when it’s young, firm, mild, medium, soft, pungent, etc. Anyway, please try again when you can find a legit source. They might even offer you to try using your finger to poke test for the firmness you prefer or eat a tiny piece before you agree to buy it. I love your videos. So glad you’ve come to my country. Good luck!
Lived in Chang my 8 years and have stayed in many hotels and owned 2 different houses also own 4 condominiums for rental investments. None of our residents ever had smelly water.
Cool video. Love the suit fitting footage. As for durian, it's not a good idea to buy packed boxes because you never know how long the durian has been placed in there. It's best to ask the seller to choose a good durian and chop it open in front of your eyes to taste it. Durians are yummie. It's a popular south-east asian fruit, either you love it, or you hate it. And I LOVE IT🙂
ICE. Crushed or tubular, it's the same stuff from the same ice factories. All ice factories use purified water to make both tubular ice and large blocks of ice. The large blocks are then crushed. The way the ice is handled can be the problem, not the ice itself.

I am Thai, born in Chiang Mai. I have a funny story to tell you about Khao Soi. If we were truly northern Thai people, we wouldn't count khao soi as northern food. Even though it is famous as a famous food in northern Thailand. Actually, Khao Soi is made for foreigners and tourists who are not from the North who are not familiar with authentic Northern food. But it's more famous than real northern food. It's similar to a menu called American fried rice that you can only find in Thailand. It is a menu that Thai people made for American soldiers who came to base in Thailand during the Vietnam War. American fried rice was created because American soldiers could not eat Thai food in the beginning. So we came up with this menu🤣🤣🙏🙏
@@yqtyc Raw buffalo larb, where buffalo bile is added to give it a bitter taste. Laab in the north emphasizes aromatic spices, but the taste is not as strong as laab in the northeast. Grilled pork brain and curry paste eaten with sticky rice is amazing. And the strangest food in Chiang Mai is steamed rotten meat. The way to do this is to place the meat in several layers of bags to prevent flies from penetrating and eating the meat. Then hang it on a tree to prevent dogs from stealing the meat and eating it. Leave it for 3-5 days until it spoils. Then take the rotten meat and boil it with herbs that are added to Tom Yum to deodorize it. This menu simulates the situation in the past when there were no cars. In the past, people used to walk. And the northern region is famous for its many mountains. When people from out of town go into the city to sell things and then buy things to take home, they have to walk for several days. So you have to use cows or buffalos to transport things. Sometimes cows and buffalo walk on traps set by hunters. making it unable to travel further The owner would take its life and cut up its meat to take home to eat. But because of the long distance and having to cross the mountains, it would take several days. Causing the meat that was carried with it to rot. But with regret, I tried to cook it. It turned out that it was very delicious and soft🤣🤣🙏🙏

Steve!!! You were the highlight of the whole video for us! 😂 Hope you guys enjoyed the rest of your honeymoon! From then on, you got me inspired to learn a bit more Thai haha 🧀
Nice vid, but you guys are a bit off with several takes. :) One, the red truck IS on a fixed route. So if you asked it to go someplace specific, off that route, no, they're not going to do that for you. Also, the "national dish" of Thailand is NOT Pad Thai. Most Thai people, in fact, do not eat pad Thai, or rarely do so. Pad Krapow .. is the "national dish". Though yes, Khao Soi, along with Sai Ua (sausage on a stick you were eating) are considered the most popular norther Thai dishes. Another misperception by westerners is that street food will make you sick more times than not. But as indicated, you guys did not get sick. Why? Because you were smart about your choices .. and the overall perception is not accurate. Actually, it's even a bit insulting. Generally, the vendors are clean, use refrigeration, cook with high heat, etc. Just be smart and stay away from, say .. sushi that's been sitting out all night. I almost exclusively eat street food when I visit Thailand and have yet to get sick. Not once. General rule .. eat what the locals are eating. If the Thais are not eating it, you shouldn't either. :) Lastly, you should not be surprised by the quality of some of the street food. Restaurant quality? Some restaurants are good, some are not. Vendors are the same .. and some are excellent and with long-standing good reputations. Bangkok has one of only two street vendor Michelin Star winners in the world. Happy trails!
Don’t be so frigging critical mr no it all. I am not visiting Thailand like you, I have lived here since 2014. They are just giving their opinion, kind of like you are. Another fact you are wrong on, if you stop a Songthaew and make them an offer, they will take you off the beaten path. I have taken several to pick up stuff over the years. And Pad Thai is one of Thailands National dish, just google it or go to the Royal Thai Embassy website, or TripLegend web site. Just because the Thais are not eating at a specific restaurant does not mean it is bad. If you are so up on your stuff, which for the most part I think you are, start your own TH-cam channel or vlog…

This Vlog was so relaxing and pleasant to watch and I watched the whole thing and I literally never finish a vlog! 🤣🤣 #adhd I'm going to Chiang Mai in Feb and now I'm super excited!!
Thailand is absolutely an amazing country and Thai elephants are so cute. They deserved to be spoiled in every direction from humans. After all people and nature must learn to live together peacefully a lot better than how cruelly mankind have been acting in the past. Love your over views on showing us the whole gist of exciting experiences in the northern province-Chiangmai. Till date we are still wondering when are we foreigners going to start calling Bangkok by its real name, or has it become too late for the u turn. It’s impossible not to fall in love with this peaceful land of smiles for sure, even with that bone crushing and cracking Thai massage.😅😊❤
There are massage places in bangkok that are 3 bucks an hour I know of 3-4 of them. I was literally getting 2 hours of massages everyday after waking up.
There are some nice local restaurants on the small soi's off Loh Kroh road....one of the best is about half way down, turn right on Soi 1, walk past the Number one bar and past the scooter hire shop to a small restaurant on the left called 'Aum and Camrons' ....excellent thai food and reasonably priced beer....a lot of the bar girls from Loh Kroh eat here and take aways are constantly leaving the shop to be delivered to girls working in the bars....
Chiang Mai was the capital of the Lanna Kingdom for at least 700 years. Some time the city was independent, but most of the time the City was a vassal state of various Burmese dynasties even right through the reign of King Rama I. When the British began to subjugate Burma and eventually abolished the Burmese King, exiling him to British India during King Rama IV reign, Chiang Mai was independent again but within a few decades, Chiang Mai King saw that Siam was beginning to exert influence to the North, the King decided to submit and even sent his daughter to become King Rama V's concubine. When Chiang Mai king died, King Rama V decided not to appoint a new king but put Chiang Mai directly under Bangkok's rule, sending a governor to govern Chiang Mai since then. Chiang Mai has it all, old town with several important temples, Wat Prathat Doi Suthep on 13 km up hill within 20 km from the city center and at the foot of Doi Suthep, there is Chiang Mai University, one of the four regional public universities in Thailand. The others are Khon Kaen in the Northeast, Burapha in the East (Chonburi) and Songkhla in the South. All four regional universities have all traditional faculties including Medicine and Engineering. There is an going project to propose Chiang Mai's old town as Unesco World Heritage within this decade. There is an annual Walk Up Doi Suthep about 12km trek held by Chiang Mai University to welcome new students. Along the way, there are bins to collect drinking water bottles/garbages manned by senior students. It is estimated about 20,000+ new and old students take part on this annual event. Wat Prathat Doi Suthep and practically all temples in the North and in Laos as well have two Nagas (mythical serpent-like beast living underworld) guarding the steps leading into the temple. It is believed that Naga King is the underworld ruler and is a devout Buddhist. Thus, sometimes you can see an image of Buddha meditating under Bodhi tree with Naga King guarding behind with his 7 heads above Buddha's head to protect him from wind/rain. There are also standalone Naga statutes along Meking River on both sides of Thailand and Laos, the most famous of which is at Nakhon Phanom with 7 heads. It might be noted that one of the largest royal barge of Thai King has 7-heads Naga at the front. The mortal enemy of Naga is Garuda (a mythical flying beast) which is supposed to be God Vishnu's mount. Indonesia and Thailand deem Garuda as high class mythical beast and Indonesia's National Carrier is named "Garuda". Garuda is also the official symbol of Thai King, thus official document would have Garuda symbol at its head. When there is an official royal announcement from the King or Palace, the initial TV screen features Garuda for a minute before the royal text appears together with reading announcement.
One of my favorites in Thailand and I think the best part was missed. The weather. The other popular area's are so hot. I also found the locals much friendlier.

Great stuff and thanks for helping us plan our trip! Where did you rent your bike? Do they have the 160cc bigger scooters? Any information will be helpful!
Love Chiang Mai...Thailand in general. The markets are great, however everything is fake, as you discovered. If you get a chance, head to south and spend a few days in Phi Phi. Flights are really cheap. I had the worst food poisoning of my life in Puckett, thought I was going to die there. I think it was from some chicken I had. Only time I ever had food poisoning abroad, the other times were all in the States.
Dang, yea food poisoning is my worst nightmare, we’re always careful but you never know…my friend had his worst experience in SF lol. Thailand is amazing, would love to check out Phi Phi next time! All the best Mike!
Appreciate the sharing:) I’m sooo hungry now. I’m no where as fit as either of you! Trying to step up my game get my endurance back with walking, better cardio health and trim some extra off. Way to stay fit dudes 😉 My mind is set on Thailand for spring break. Seeing videos like yours has me more convinced & motivated. Thanks ✌🏽
Receiving a fine for not having the correct licence does not give you permission to keep driving. It could lead to larger fines if they have recorded the offence. More importantly, any insurance you may have would be invalid if you are driving without an appropriate licence!
Hey. I am thinking on doing the cooking class. May seems to be one of the classes, my concern is the amount of people she allows in each class. It seems as having too many people, for it to not be as personalised. What are your thoughts? Thanks
This is one of the best video I have watched thank you for sharing the different spots things to do how to get around, etc. can you please let me know where you got your long sleeves, shirts and shorts they look very light and comfortable. I am planning on coming to Thailand in January, and do not want to be baking the sun by buying the wrong material, thanks. And by the way, these suits are definitely James Bond suits.

I hope you will come back again if you have a chance. As a thank you, I will give you a free motorcycle for a week without any expenses. Hope to see you soon.🙏
Hi Guys..............loved your video ...............cycling up there in November.......Hong Song Mae loop and then into Laos...........keep up the good work....cheers
Nice video 🇹🇭 Just got back from a month in Chiang Mai and miss the place already, one of the best places on earth 🙏 I think it’s decent advice to not brush your teeth with tap water. Seems an idiosyncratic thing to mention given the length and breadth of your video but in all my time in Thailand, I’ve stuck to that and thankfully never been sick… and I eat all the street foods (but I tend to stay away from seafood from the street). I would say though to anyone that is not an experienced rider and doesn’t have the requisite licenses and insurance, stay away from riding a scooter in Thailand. It’s a great way to get around but you could also be risking your life for no reason when bolt and grab will be so cheap in comparison to your own country, not to mention songthaews. There are not many places in the world like Thailand and Chiang Mai in particular 🙏👍🏼
Very different vibes I’d say, if you want a more authentic and more relaxed pace of life I would definitely choose Chiang Mai, the people are so friendly, food is amazing (markets too), it’s very safe, lots to do (day trips too), and the coffee scene is the best in Southeast Asia! Bangkok is a more hectic big city with more intensity. People are less patient. Just make sure you don’t go to Chiang Mai during burning season. All the best, you’ll have a good time either way!
Song Thaew's are not the same as Tuk-Tuks but are cheap to get around the City usually about 30 baht - Tuk -Tuks are smaller for 2 or 3 people and you need to negotiate a price.
The name of both businesses are on the clothes we’re wearing… The cooking apron “Thai Secret Cooking School” and “Blue Tao Elephant Village” on the purple shirt 😳

Sorry guys. I think you got a bad piece of durian. Even for (picky) Thai people, we have to get it from a reputable place or the seller we know. The ripeness can affect the flavor, smell, and texture big time. This Vlog was so relaxing and pleasant to watch and I watched the whole thing and I literally never finish a vlog! 🤣🤣 #adhd I'm going to Chiang Mai in Feb and now I'm super excited!!
Thanks, that means a lot! All the best!
Thailand is amazing!
There are massage places in bangkok that are 3 bucks an hour I know of 3-4 of them. I was literally getting 2 hours of massages everyday after waking up.
Amazing vid. One of your best yet. Can’t wait to see what other Asian countries you guys hit up next. The next massage is on me. 👍🏼
Wow!! Thanks A LOT for the support! A massage it is, I won’t say no lol 💆♂️ We’ve got some exciting ones in the pipeline! Cheers!🤘🏽
Your videos are the BEST!!!!!
Thanks Andre! Appreciate you! 🤘🏽
The 3 weeks i stayed in chiang mai and mai sot,the water didnt smell like sewer water......... sooooooooo maybr it wasthw hotelyou stayed at lol ... i stayed at personal residences and 2 different hotels none of which the water smelled like sewer water, i also ate a ridiculously large amount of street food spicy and not and never got sick ...
I did not drink tap water which is like anywhere.
Im also going back to chiang mai again in November
maybe next time checkout 108 villa pongyang. bit away from the city center but very nice hotel. also close to various attractions
Will do, thanks!
Great stuff and thanks for helping us plan our trip!
Where did you rent your bike? Do they have the 160cc bigger scooters? Any information will be helpful!
Really enjoyed this vid. Thank you
What’s the name of the elephant sanctuary? Please Share the website link to the sanctuary if you have it.
🤩 Thailand in the Nord looks very interesting... Good video plenty of Tips
This video was outstanding. Thank you.
Oh, the ULTIMATE guide to Chiang Mai from someone who has been here for an ENTIRE month! Sheesh.
Appreciate the sharing:)
I’m sooo hungry now. I’m no where as fit as either of you! Trying to step up my game get my endurance back with walking, better cardio health and trim some extra off. As like yous I love eating. Thou it’s sweet to see you’ve both got a hungry for food yet are really active with great looking bodies! Way to stay fit dudes 😉 My mind is set on Thailand for spring break. Seeing videos like yours has me more convinced & motivated. Thanks ✌🏽
Great editing. This looks professional. We have a house in Chiang Mai but don’t make it out if the States often.
Thanks a lot! 🤘🏽
Where is your house? Please provide exact coordinates so I can go and look at it. :)
Receiving a fine for not having the correct licence does not give you permission to keep driving. It could lead to larger fines if they have recorded the offence. More importantly, any insurance you may have would be invalid if you are driving without an appropriate licence!
at what time of the year have you been there? What do you know about the fires during western summer time around July and the bad air pollution?
Welcome to Thailand 🇹🇭 ❤😊🎉
Chiang Mai is a paradise for coffee lovers.
Really love your video from Phuket 🙏😍
Thanks, all the best!
omg, now i know how they do chang! I suspected smething like that 😀
Guess they just chill it 😂
The RV misses yall😂
Haha, we miss it too. Still working out when we can do another big RV trip!
Your durian reaction is spectacular!
I tried…it was too much for me! 😂
This was so good. I just subscribed. I like you guys. I'm sending this to my girl because we are going to Thailand next year.
Wow!!! you guys have been working so hard for this!!!!
after getting the suit home, may i ask if you are still happy with it. I am just never confident enough to buy one.
You guys crack me up, I love your videos thank you so much!
Thanks a lot, all the best!
Hey. I am thinking on doing the cooking class. May seems to be one of the classes, my concern is the amount of people she allows in each class. It seems as having too many people, for it to not be as personalised. What are your thoughts? Thanks
Try visiting the Philippines. We got lots of nice beaches and warm climate almost all year round
We’d love to explore the Philippines! 🇵🇭 Hopefully next year if we can swing it! 🤘🏽
@@ONWorldTravel okay good I can give you some tips
This is one of the best video I have watched thank you for sharing the different spots things to do how to get around, etc. can you please let me know where you got your long sleeves, shirts and shorts they look very light and comfortable. I am planning on coming to Thailand in January, and do not want to be baking the sun by buying the wrong material, thanks. And by the way, these suits are definitely James Bond suits.
I opened TH-cam and found your video. I am so glad to see my motorcycle rental shop "HAPPY DAYS SHOP" in your video clip. Thank you for sharing your Chiang Mai travel experience with other travelers. I hope you will come back again if you have a chance. As a thank you, I will give you a free motorcycle for a week without any expenses.
Hope to see you soon.🙏
Thanks for being honest with food & water❤!
Gotta share it all, glad it was helpful!
I miss chiang mia, I also went to the Elephant sanctuary, yes night Sunday night market is crazy.will return next year.c
Enjoy!
Hello from Japan!
Your video makes me miss Chiang Mai!
Love Chiang Mai ❤
🇹🇭 ❤️
Hi Guys..............loved your video ...............cycling up there in November.......Hong Song Mae loop and then into Laos...........keep up the good work....cheers
Durian taste everything but garlic and onion. It is more like uncooked cake. It is super sweet, milky and I crave it. I am French.
How was the air quality while you were there?
9 months a year the air is fabulous 👌 we have lived here 8 years now.
Mid February to mid May is burning season
We're trying to decide Chiang Mai or Bangkok.... I don know Lucy! 😱 They both seem epic!🤣
@@ONWorldTravel Hubby and I just read your reply together. Sooo helpful. Thank you so very much. This is just what we needed to hear!
Thanks for the video. Do travel insurance is required for enter Thailand?
No it wasn’t. 🤙🏽
Fabulous video ❤️❤️❤️love Morganne Leigh
Thanks again Morganne for the support! Appreciate you!
Welcome to Thailand, hope you like it here.
Suits you fine! You need the tray and off you go with the Mai Thais...
Looks an amazing place to explore and escape.
At the end of the video where you have the sticky rice served in bamboo, where is this market?
The Mike Jackson hee hoo during hip thrusters...HAHAHA. Great piece you guys put together.
Wow looks great 👍🙏🙏😍
Thanks!! We loved it! 🤘🏽
Will be returning to CM for Songkran. Safe haven from Bangkok, as only in The Big Mango do I get the shits.
First time seeing your channel. Loved it. I felt like I was there.
How long did the suits take to make?
The 'tuk tuk' trucks are called song thaew - 2 benches.
Song Thaew's are not the same as Tuk-Tuks but are cheap to get around the City usually about 30 baht - Tuk -Tuks are smaller for 2 or 3 people and you need to negotiate a price.
disappointing that more details weren't given: for example name/location of elephant sanctuary, cooking class
The name of both businesses are on the clothes we’re wearing… The cooking apron “Thai Secret Cooking School” and “Blue Tao Elephant Village” on the purple shirt 😳
@@ONWorldTravel It's not good enough: see the headmaster after class. 😀
You guys did Chiangmai proud
Where did you take the cooking class?
excellent Video! could you please tell me the name of the elephant experience you guys did.
It was called Blue Elephant Thailand Tours
