Absolutely true. I’ve never used a dating site in SE Asia. I’ve never been scammed by women. I am a friendly sincere guy and like Reekay said, I’ve had great success. I think so many men have been beaten down in the West by women. They need to reset and reprogram. When I asked Filipinas and other SE Asian women how it felt when I approached them (after I knew them), they said they are never approached and it made them very happy. I always remember that because I stand out by talking to women. I make their day and I get contact information and possibilities. Too many horror stories of men getting brutalized by using dating apps. Great video Reekay
Here’s a freebee for the timid. Ask her what water bottle company is the best. Wilkins has been a great ice breaker for me. She will be curious and ask questions about where you’re from, & plans. Transition it to being new in town and she will be a happy tour guide.
Disagree slightly on the dating sites. I met my wife on a dating site. First thing I did was put into advanced search must be single, no kinds, no drinking, under age of 25 and have some type of college experience. Sure, the list of candidates went from 1500 down to 150 but those girls were my target audience. From there, I built a top 10 list and went from there. Now married over 16 years and it's been amazing. If you are going to date in the Phils, I say go for the best this country has to offer. Remember, get a girl who is an asset, not a liability. Easier said then done but it's possible if you are patient.b Your target should be a recently graduated teacher, accountant, IT professional, call center rep etc. Think professional!
yes.. separating the wheat from the chaff. it's daunting, patient work which can pay off. unfortunately, too many men don't have the patience to do this and make hasty decisions. that's when the problems begin.

These guys new to the Philippines just need to relax and take a few practice swings to warm up. Just be friendly and start a chat with a nice filipina that catches your eye. She doesn't have to be your next wife or the love of your life, just get some practice chatting with them about normal stuff. They don't have to be a 10. If you're in the mall, "Have you seen the latest movie yet?", "What's a good restaurant here?". You'll get more comfortable the more you practice. After a while you'll get a sense if she's receptive to you and take it to the next level. It's so easy in the Philippines!

Great advice as usual. My advice to those guys who are thinking failure before it even fails to meet the girl is this: Think making a new friend! You want to know about her, and she is curious about you. She is not going to judge you for your looks/age like you may be judging her to start but how how you appear to be. Appear relaxed. You want to BE relaxed so practice that if you need to. If you are relaxed it make others relaxed, if you are tense it make them tense. Peoples subconscious picks that up right away. If you are one that is so scared of rejection use the Salesman technique. Which is you try to sell to 10 people and no success 9 times, but you are still fine as you succeed one time. Yay!
If all you do is show your money your going to attract people that want it, it's why you need to show off yourself

I've been Single since 2006. The choices around me have Bad Histories, Criminal Records, Substance Abuse or need someone to "Open their Wallet" & raise their mismatched Brood. I live in a County that is #1, #2 or #3 for Substance, Spousal, ect Abuse in my State. [It wasn't that way when I grew up here, external forces crushed the County] 645 Days to Retirement, Another 30 to GTFO of the US. If I find someone, good. If not, at least I'm not living in Hell's Antechamber.

Henry, I've been to the Philippines many times, and you're the realist old-school vlogger about dating in the Philippines. I am dumbfounded at how most guys date in the Philippines and Thailand. In my opinion, say 70-80 percent of guys who fall in love with bar girls, massage women, and online are sexpats. Who is used to paying for play. An above-average bar girl will know how to play these guys quick.

True! In one word, the big R - rejection. Guys in the west have been rejected for so long. It a huge mind shift to simply walk up to ANY woman with confidence- even Filipinas and say hi. As you say Reekay, just walk up but these sort of guys have been beaten down for years and made to feel worthless or never good enough. We all want acceptance. In saying all that, yes! Practice and just doing it is the only way but for many it’s can be the scariest thing.

I guess I just got lucky and found 1 of those women in the 10% range. I meet my Filipina fiancé on Tinder at the start of the Pandemic. We were completely honest with each other from day 1. I have been to the Philippines a couple times and she’s moving to Canada to be with me as soon as the PR visas come.

11:19 my last trip to Cebu; new expat at the hotel pool. He not only led with wallet but was broadcasting it to the women he was dinning with.
It wasn’t until after he paid for the entire spread of a meal, and both of the women got up and left smiling , changed and left without him, did I realize (damn) he played himself.
He looked so sad.
I felt bad for the dude as he was just six month in. Given his burn rate I don’t see how things wouldn’t start to hurt in a year.

They will often bring a friend or relative for safety. Perfectly normal in the Philippines . If it continues past the 3rd or 4th date then I would have a conversation. If she still wants a 3rd then she’s probably not serious about finding a guy so you should move on.
on the first date, i don't mind "one" extra who tags along. i'm totally okay with that. and, statistically i'd say that happens (for me) maybe only 5% of the time, so it's no big deal. especially if the first date is simply coffee at Starbucks, Bo's or lunch at McDo's or Jollibee.
i remember one filipina.. by night before our meetup she had asked if her entire family could come along. the entire family of parents, siblings. at that point i canceled. i told her, "this was supposed to be a first-date.. not a family outing."
but don't go inviting a filipina to a nice resto on the first date. aside from setting a high-bar for later, don't gamble a high-end dinner on a girl that you not be interested in 5-minutes after she shows up. keep the first date simple. if things go well, you can always upgrade your plans later.
as a side note, when my (now) wife wanted to meet for our first date.. she asked if she could bring her mother along. i immediately said, "yes!". if you're looking for a girl who is serious about a real relationship, this is a very good sign. (but not if you are just looking for a 1-night hookup.)
