No worries buddy, people in the US where this beautiful truck was designed, hate on us who drive them. It’s jealousy! I have the Silverado 2500 version with the diesel and I’m so happy with mine. I also have a much older 1999 Silverado 2500 with a gas engine. The older truck has 330,000 miles on it today and I still drive it just about every day. The old truck is the very reason I bought the new one, it has never let me down. You’ve got a beautiful beast of a truck! Go get it dirty now and you’ll really appreciate it!
One note about the towing capabilities: Never go by manufacturer ratings. They are not “sustainable” numbers, meaning if you tow close to that max weight more than a few times you will have brake system and transmission problems. I wouldn’t put anything more than a small landscaping trailer on a 1/2 ton truck. You also wanna stay away from gas/petrol trucks if used for hauling. Diesel is the way.

It was a fun experience and having driven one I do understand the appeal, but as I don't tow or live in a rugged offroad area there's no way I'd have one in suburban Australia. And that price!!!!
I work at a performax dealership among other brands. And let’s just say I don’t have many nice things to say about them. They definitely look cool but for that price you’d want more warranty and less problems. The fords aren’t any better. The tundra though is pretty good
Love this truck. The AT4 package is nice but I’m in an SLE. Nearly at 300,000 km on the truck and it’s my daily driver, work truck, and bush wacker. These are great on the ice roads, tow tool trailers and construction equipment, and are dead easy to repair.

The major issue with these is the cost to everyone else, especially in built up areas. Can’t park next to them in a regular carpark. Can’t see around them. Gotta love a vf!
It’s um, well….big. I think I could park my Lexus on the tray!
The major issue with these is the cost to everyone else, especially in built up areas.
Can’t park next to them in a regular carpark. Can’t see around them. In a city street, parking them means jutting into the bike lane. It’s very hard to see a scooter, pedestrian or cyclist from one. And if you get hit - you’re going to wish it was a Corolla.
Fortunately I don't live in a built up area where I take this is pretty practical
@@zerozeeros You're doing a better job than people who paid $150k-ish for a new LandCruiser to go shopping with.
What about trucks and buses? Do they scare you as well?
@@scottwilliam6141 No, because they don't park in passenger bays, and, most of all, the drivers have an appropriate licence for them.
@@jeremybean-hodges6397 You don’t need a special licence to drive small trucks or Sprinter/ Transit type vans. And they take up more physical space than these things.
The world is ours to share , you don’t own it .
from my experience of owners vs haters, the haters just seem like terrible people
A bit bigger and I would consider
Hi! American here...RUN. AWAY. These things and their equivalent sized SUV analogues are a blight here in the US. Too many folks have them and maybe, at best, a tenth used these for their expressed purpose. A lot of "home-to-corporate campus (because accountant? Probably?)-to-big box store-to-home again" behavior. Seldom traipsing around construction sites or up the side of Kilimanjaro. Just posturing.
Short answer: no
Long answer: Noooooooo
You didn't try parking it at the shopping centre.
That is one mighty fine emotional support vehicle.
Even Ladies in america and canada prefers the proper pick up truck not Small hilux utes or rangers. My sister drives the 1500 silverado. Aussies love these cars if they can afford it. If someone cannot afford these, for sure they will hate it.
Extra frustrating footage that intersects with a long ass ad break :P
Hahaha. As someone who drives a kei car I find these are intimidating in the hands of Australians on Australian roads. Generally, we are not particularly safe, courteous or situationally aware drivers.
I see these everyday in Canada. Nothing special to me. While I am disappointed that so many people drive big trucks and SUVs instead of sedans, hatchbacks, and wagons, I do believe we should have the right to choose what sort of vehicle we want. Also, 3:46 MAZDA 3 OWNERS REPRESENT!
hahaha love the honest on ego
It's an ESV - Emotional Support Vehicle.
If you dont like them - dont buy one.
Otherwise, get over it.
That's the spirit
