      [2] By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
      [3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

    Hi John Another one of my favourite techniques I discovered it back in the 90s It was cold positions of flexion back then they are 3 working positions No1-The mid-range position for muscle synergy, moving maximum poundages No2-The stretched position to jolt muscle fibres out of reserve with the myotatic reflex No3-The Contracted position to finish off the targeted muscle group with a peak contraction exercise It allows you to use the minimum amount of exercises for maximum muscle development In the shortest possible time making it one of the best High intensity methods of training looking forward to your next video as always Stay safe and healthy

    • @N1education
      @N1education 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As John said, you have to figure it out exactly for you. You can use a higher position on those, but not too high. We use a bit higher in the video but it depends on the leg press foot plate, and type. You still want enough quad tension to keep the stability at the knee, and obviously the higher you go, the less your hips can extend decreasing the ROM, so find a happy medium if you need to decrease the quads. Regardless, narrower will be more glutes and wider a bit more adductors. But it's never going to be 100% one and zero the other, just a bias.

    Question 2: on the inverted leg press, I always thought high foot position was more hams and glutes, low for quads. Am I imagining that targeted feel at higher weight, with slow, strict reps?

      those things restrict range of motion so much I am not what they do..

    • @N1education
      @N1education 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with John, you lose too much ROM on the inverted leg press. You’re better off with a traditional or pivot style leg press. You can use a higher position on those, but not too high. You still want enough quad tension to keep the stability at the knee, and obviously the higher you go, the less your hips can extend decreasing the ROM, so find a happy medium if you need to decrease the quads. Or better yet, use the RDL as a better choice for this scenario.

    Maybe it is just the lighting, but you look healthier than you have in some time. I would like to add a machine squat where the angle has you pressing up and forward. Hits the upper aspect of the glutes for me, but in my case my glutes seem to get involved in all of my leg exercises. Lying leg curls also.

    • @RDS_Armwrestling
      @RDS_Armwrestling 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The glutes aren't particularly active in a leg curl because bending the knee has no effect on the glutes, it's a hamstring exercise.

      Jeff Nippard has a good video on 45 degrees being optimal for hitting the back while holding a barbell in a snatch grip vs flat roman chair. But that's for back not for glutes. Hip Thrusts are the best btw.

      Another vote for barbell hip thrusts

    • @N1education
      @N1education 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It comes down to goals and the individual. Just note that if you do the hip thrust you get less ROM, and will need to make sure your programming makes up for it with other exercises. That does include the very short position as for many people the stretch in their rec fem (long quad) may limit them at the top just a bit because it’s stretched around the knee. Hip thrust is still a good option, and it’s less hamstrings too. 👍

    John, what do you think! We should use FFMI in comparisons of physiques. Use the FFMI score as a way of scoring how much muscle mass they have relative to height. Example: Greg Doucette is 5'6.5, let's say 5% BF and 179lbs. He's score is 27,035. Compare that to Quinten Beastwood 561, 5%BF, and 214lbs. 26,822. This is very useful if you compare with big height differences. As we can see Greg has a higher score thus more lean muscle compared to height.
    I used peak natty Greg ducette and peak natty Quentin Beastwood

      You can use a higher position on those, but not too high. We use a bit higher in the video but it depends on the leg press foot plate, and type. You still want enough quad tension to keep the stability at the knee, and obviously the higher you go, the less your hips can extend decreasing the ROM, so find a happy medium if you need to decrease the quads. Or better yet, if you really want to take the quads out of it, use the RDL as a better choice for this scenario.

    Hey john I know this is a long shot but I would really appreciate it if you have any advice. I'm 24 years old and unfortunately my arches have completely collapsed and my ankles..for no apparent reason. I can walk and train I'm not handicapped but I am In ALOR of pain. For this reason I cannot use leg machines involving pushing or any squat style movements due to the intense pressure placed on my knees and feet. I'm really struggling to motivate myself with training due to me being unable to train my legs with intensity. Is there anything you could recommend that I could do to build my leg muscles without being under intense strain. I would wholeheartedly appreciate some advice I cannot find anyone who can help me. My dream is to gain size and I'm actively working on this but my legs are being left out of the equation and it's very demotivating and discouraging

    Watch out for the mask enforcers in the gym cuz they are cracking down here in NYC gyms. My favorite glute exercise is that reverse lunge with torso parrallel to ground(plate raised) and side lateral lunge weighted wouldn't understimate the curtsy lunge too it looks like a Glute killer.

    John what about sumo deadlift with chains. Just started with these versus regular deadlifts, seems they activate gluteus better without quads and lower back taking over.

      The wide stance actually makes it less glute and more adductor. Look up @coach_kassem, he probably has content about it. Or check @liftrunbang on insta, he's close to kass and John and also talks about this.

      @@NielsO-t3v an individual mite be able to manipulate form to make an argument. But the fact is Sumo deadlifting requires more hip and glute strength and conventional deadlifting requires more hamstring and lower back strength.
