Description:
This Ford Transit Connect was converted into the perfect vacation home on wheels by adventuring seeking, Cynthia. She converted it herself with the intention of a creating a simple rig that would be easy to move around as she explored the possibility of vanlife. After a few months of living on the road, Cynthia has discovered all of the joys a nomadic life can bring & has fallen in love with her new way of life. Her rig features a pullout bed, open-shelving, a mini kitchen, & the perfect place to sleep for her beloved 60 lb dog.

For such a small van it looks comfy to live in.
It's cute, but I expected a shuttle bus.
That’s our fault. Our scheduler was in bed sick today and accidentally scheduled the video incorrectly.
Gosh, and I thought I was loosing my mind
This is not a high roof.
It's great to see an older woman doing this. Most of the videos I've seen are younger people. I'm 63 and dream about doing this, but my wife would never have it. So, I live vicariously through these people and enjoy seeing what people are doing. Again, it's great to see an older person such as myself, enjoying life and all it has to offer.

Great compact solution for a camper van. I appreciate that her dog was an important criteria in what she purchased and how she built it out. A dog is the best reason for just about everything. Wish her and pooch all the best on the adventures that await them, be safe and well!

Great lady, lovely set-up. I loved her honesty about what she was afraid of (& I share the same fears)- lighting a fire inside the van, whether she'd even like being out on the road, spending a lot of money on a fancier rig, etc....Glad it's working out so well for her and her sweet doggie!

First, I want to commend you for taking your dog. I'm all for it!!! Now your just a joy to watch. The job you did on everything you personally need. I love you didn't go in debt. for a fancy - over priced, large van but its very functional and I'm all for that, also. You, the doggie then the van. Its all just perfect. Congratulations, to you both. Enjoy your journey's and ALL the memories your making! Travel and Live safely but never let fear stop your fun. Not to scare you just one of my sayings. Such a nice video. She speaks so clearly that it was easy to follow her story. If she can easily travel with her big dog, then I should be ok with Captain. He is old, blind in one eye, is having trouble with steps and is 90 lbs. But he loves to travel so I've been shopping for a dog ramp. I'm from Central Oklahoma and I'm trying to build out my 6x12 cargo trailer. A lot of good advice in this visit and I really appreciate it. Hope to see you on the road.

Great video but of course some of us want to know how she keeps clean and of course her bathroom situation in such a small van….and the title said that it was a high top transit van;
well how much of a difference is that kind of high top than a regular van?
however, let me just say I love this lady‘s attitude about the things that she had in there, what she was using, and how she was using it,…… and the practicality of all of it. For someone just starting Out she really has her head screwed on tight. Congratulations.

I'm just at the very start of my conversion though and I had to say thank you for inspiring me with some of your great ideas. The very best one (for me) being the bench / table top between the rear doors! I also plan on getting an awning for some added space, as I'm 6' 2'' and have a Labrador called Ted to consider. this is so great! So many of the transit connect builds in the US have that galley-way set up, which seems so tight und uncomfy to me and is really heard to imagine working if you travel with a dog. I follow Lady Bugout (who als has a van tour here) because she has a small van build that is kind of set up like this one and just puts all the homy-ness and space in the middle. I love how minimalist and virtually "no build" Lady Bugout is and how lovely and wonderfully simple and comfy this build is. Such a help to see what works with a dog in a tiny builds and the challenges it brings.
I hope this lady makes a channel to for youtube because she is so lovely and it's so relaxing and nice to hear her talk about her van, her choices and her dogs! So Cynthia, if you are reading this: please make a channel so I can follow your adventures 💕

Cynthia, your build is really nice. Love your extra platform at the foot of your bed for your dog! Love the versatility in the back with the bench and the table, but also the simplicity. I've tried doing a build in my Town and Country van....I'm on iteration #4 at the moment. I thought the last one was good, but it felt too cramped. I, too, hope to get a slightly bigger van for intermittent travel. Hope to see you on the road!

Your Transit connect is amazing. I've been looking at all the different videos and I like the large suv Grand Caravan but I think I like this Transit Van better. Your setup is awesome and you look so comfortable in it.
Using the 3-lb weights to hold down your canopy is brilliant!

I love your setup, and if you don't mind me saying you could use the two back doors to make a privacy room so you can use the toilet/change room or take a shower. It is very easy. You just hang curtains on the back between the two doors. It is just an idea 💡 😊😊
Great idea to have a table across the doors! I agree, cooking standing up outside is the way to go. I also like the bench across the front - that would be a perfect place for a toilet.

Ive been weighing pro's and cons of van life before i sell my home but i don't know if i could weather storms.. creeps..rodents trying to find places to sleep... this one is very nice 😊

Smart decision to travel in a van with your dog. I did same with 2 dogs.Unfortunately they are gone now, and I am considering this summer to convert my truck and go out again, sans dogs, which will be a different experience. I too dream about a small high top van, but 2023 is not the time to buy, and will want to test the lifestyle again before I make a bigger commitment. Kudos to you and hope to see you down the road sometime.

I have been looking at those vans online but they all have around 150,000 miles. One salesman said they are much higher risk for rollover accidents because of the height. But I like being able to stand up in them. Hopefully I'll find one soon. I love your set up.
