I was super impressed with this build AND THEN YOU OPENED THE SLIDER! HOLY CRAP!! That has to be the smartest use of the awkward side space I’ve ever seen in a small van! BLOWN AWAY!
I am amazed with her build. I was blown away when she opened the side door to reveal a closet and storage. Definitely one of the cooler “tiny” Van conversions.
Software engineer may be her "day job", but her van build demonstrates that she is an innovative and skilled "hardware" engineer also. The vertical interior walls look counterintuitive for such a small space, but the "dead space" behind them is used to the max, leading to a less cluttered interior, which in turn, makes the small space feel larger than it is. Just a guess, but I think the van is well-balanced and not over-weight. Very neat and utilitarian, but with a nice homely and aesthetic feel. Add the time-travel circuits, and you have a genuine TARDIS there! :-)
So young and well grounded, and a build which reflects that! She sure knows what she is doing, and to boot, has a software engineering job! I wish I had that kind of free spirit and ablities out of college!
This is one of the nicest builds I’ve seen. It’s very hard to make so much space with so little. I’ve traveled across the country and back in my Transit it was only a blow up mattress in the back with an ice chest.
Put loops on your cushions, hooks on the wall above where your desk drops down, and hook them up out of your way, and/or a few more hooks on the back doors, where you can actually lean back against them and face frontwards.
Videos like this make me want to give it all up and move into a van TOMORROW! I love the idea of the freedom of living in a van and being able to travel and have all my stuff with me!
You could use high thread count king size pillow cases in the color of your choice to keep your bed and seat cushions cleaner in case you go into a hot or dusty and windy place.
I like you, your van,and you are so polite, real, not a snob with a van.i have watched tons, and tons of van lives and for a young adult you are awesome. Beautiful van.i wish you safety ,health and joy!
I'm super impressed in what you've done with such a tiny space. My jaw dropped when you showed us the outside storage. You have a great place to live while you're figuring out the rest of your life. Enjoy it!!! 😊
I watch a lot of van life and build videos. What stands out the most is that people choose to live in tiny spaces because they have big hearts and souls.
Great job on the design and build, love the secret closet! Just one thing to take care of - I hope you remove any items hanging near the door that could catch fire when cooking. Happy trails 🌷
This is one of the best transit connect builds I've seen! I love that the bed is a modular design so it can be used as a desk space too. I'm at the very beginning stages of my build and might look into making my bed like this now rather than just the regular pull out couch/bed
I really like your build. Best wishes on your future. Save your money and get a small home once you have saved but never stop travelling continue your journey in like peace
I would take the back closet out just to reclaim the space into the main area, take the passenger seat out to get the storage space and put the driver's seat on a swivel to turn it into a decent chair to sit and work in and then the desk could be moved over behind the driver seat so she could just sit there and work in a more proper chair or as an even better alternative put the desk where the passenger seat used to be, so the driver seat could be rotated to the right and the desk is right there to work at and underneath the desk can be a big old storage box. It would also allow the conversion of the bed into a more permanent bed that could be put on rails so that it could be slid between being a couch and being the bed without any cushion moving. should also look into using a NAS like the DS720+ or something like it as a media station so she could dump the CD player and the CDs, as a software programmer she's got to be comfortable with digitalized media and a NAS could provide a lot of benefit to her line of work as well.
I love the multipurpose use of your bedding area. The fact that you can pull out that middle part which also has storage unit and set up your desk is a fantastic use of space. Stay adventurous!
I've already watched hundreds of conversion videos, but your build truly tops them all! Respect, it turned out absolutely amazing! Warm hugs from germany ❤
Wow!! Not only a well thought out design but the workmanship or workwomenship appears impeccable. Great job you should be very proud. I built homes for many years and follow a lot of cargo trailer / van builds as a professional builder I can say yours is by far the best on TH-cam no questions ask. Stay safe, enjoy your van!!
I use my Transit Connect for my business here in the UK but enjoy seeing then converted for van life. Yours is one of the very best! Excellent use of all the sloping and curved surfaces.
Dear amazing young woman, the more I watch this the more I am dumb-founded at your innovation and design skills. This is just beautiful and totally practical. Great work! You could try a Moko coffee pot for a stronger brew. I can recommend Trusted House Sitter for a break from living in the van. Also workaway is a good way to meet people and learn new skills or trade your skill for food and accommodation. In the cities you could join couch surfing. Enjoy your travels.
You’ve done a super job of making your Connect a comfy but uncrowded rolling home. I am about 3 x your age, and am just starting to set up my 2012 Connect. Wish me good decisions. Janet
the retractable badge pull is brilliant for the drop down little table thingy. this is a great build and I'm so impressed by her! AWESOME!!!! I love the hidden closet too
So many van tours are over-explained with every bit of information and material used, which just makes it boring. But this one so good, you were straight to the point and yet still informational, which made me watch the entire thing. From a 63 y/o woman - you are adorable. I could watch this video numerous times - given your 'energy,' humor and lovely/inviting/simple living space. I regard this video as a 'classic' - an ideal model of a home-on-wheels.:) Thank you.
Really impressing conversion! I just was wondering about what you use for bathroom. That’s the only issue I have with small van conversions. Excellent results! Stay safe!!!
@@kathleenmckeithen118 Most people I've seen have a gym membership to take showers and find alternative solutions to go to the toilets. That's something I could never do, for me, even in a tiny build a shower and portable toilet is a must. I would sacrifice many things but not that

Yeah, I’d love to see the schematic.

That's a good idea but security wise, I'd want it accessible inside and not have to go outside to get it.

What a beautiful build and such an amazing young woman. I envy you doing this while young and traveling. Stay safe and have fun.
Very impressive! So clever, versatile and stylish. Well done. Best build I’ve seen in such a small van
