    Good job on the build, very clean and pretty. Quick note on the frig, im seeing more often people putting the frig inside a wooden box, really not recommended because it needs a lot more cooling than just a few holes. Ideal for it to be in the open so the frig doesn't work so hard.

    Very creative build. You could probably take all of the measurements and sell the plans. I would like to see it in use, packed full of stuff, instead of empty. I like your electrical system doing 12 volt only. Havelock wool would be my choice for insulation also.

    Hi. Great build!!! It's just me and my German Shepherd service Dog Archer building a camper van in a 2016 Ford Transit connect cargo van. It is gutted and were just starting. I have a new Jackery 880, ICECO20 refrigerator/freezer, DISC-O-BED top and bottom cots to put in it. I chose the cots because I can take them apart into 2 bags. The fridge can do half and half or all fridge. My question is, with the Jackery 880, do I need to do all you did, or can I just run some kind of hookups to my Jackery for everything you have? All your lighting etc? I just don't know the best way to hook everything up. Charging is easy. Also the insulation is 100 square feet for $150. One box is enough? Can I do the floors also? My buddy hasn't even seen the ocean yet, and we live in Florida. I play guitar and sing gospel songs and will travel the USA to different churches. Just enjoy life, and people we meet. Going to watch all of your videos. Probably get the answers to the questions I asked. You really got me stoked. I want to leave yesterday. You can probably tell I am excited. Can't wait to see my buddy running in the mountains, breathing in that cool air. Hope to see you.

    • @theswansonspot62
      @theswansonspot62 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Super exciting David! I’m sure you can run phone chargers and your fridge off the jackery. I’m not sure how you would run lights or a ceiling fan as ours are made to be hardwired, but I’m sure someone has done it. I have a friend with a jackery and they just bought battery operated led puck lights and they just swap the batterys when they need to. The lights only really run at night for a few hours so battery operated would last awhile.
      I ended up needing about a box and a quarter of the wool. Havelock ended up selling me a half box when I emailed them. I’m sure you could get by with one box, but I was pretty aggressive with how much I used. I used it on the floor as well.
      The cool part about the camper van life is that everyone does it a little different. There is a great Transit Connect Campervan group on Facebook that was helpful during our build.
      Good luck and have fun!!

    I SO APPRECIATE your info, the importance of fuses, battery monitor, etc. as a old unskilled at electrical anything, other then the static in my hair🙃, procures both the 340 Jackery, & incoming bluetti 2000, I'm hoping the error will run my fridge specific, using the jack fur all other USB smalls. Your recommendation would be appreciated, on WHAT SIZE SOLAR PANELS, Ya think? 200? Thank u, I trust your knowledge, & the honesty about renigy, 🙃 appreciated, safe journey

    • @CampMymy
      @CampMymy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Kristine! I am not the builder of the van and he can’t see your question, however I use a Goal Zero 500 with a 50 watt panel to power my 12v fridge and it does fine, so a 200 should be ok (check with Bluetti I’m sure they will have a suggestion depending on your fridge). I also have a 12v plug so I can power my battery pack while I’m driving as well.

    What about ☔ rainy days? .....if everything is accessed from the outside?
    That electrical system is way too complicated 4me. I just want a "Jackery" portable power station...a whole lot simpler....I also don't see a toilet 🚽; gotta have one 4 middle of the night, rainy days and just those "not convenient 2 get out" times.

    So... The way that I think about van builds...
    Never invest more than you bear being stolen, totaled, or discarded.
    In other words... Consider the money gone forever the minute you spend it.
    It's called "sunk costs."
    Don't put your heart and soul into anything that depreciates 20+% a year.
    The cost of possession is higher than ever these days.

    • @CampMymy
