And as a mom you are not only dealing with your own grief you are also feeling it for your husband and children. One recommendation…I also have bad hand and wrist pain from an autoimmune condition, I started wearing Grace & Able compression gloves sometimes while knitting but definitely after a knitting session. They help me immensely in addition to the PT exercises.
Great episode! Your images of your “me made may” are amazing and showcase how beautiful and distinctive your wardrobe and style vibe is! Enjoy. Happy Knitting!
Lovely knits and I have enjoyed watching your me made May posts. I live about an hour away from the Caribou in the Thompson region of BC 🇨🇦. Yes, we definitely pronounce togue “ two-k”, the French Canadian way. I look forward to your reviews on the summer yarns. 💜
Absolutely wonderful episode! A couple of my favorite authors are Arlene Sachitano and Betty Hechtman. Both are cozy mystery writers who have characters that that knit, crochet, and or quilt.❤🧶🧵🪡
Thanks for the cozy mystery recommendation. Those are my favorite. My favorite author is Betty Hechtman who writes crochet cozy mysteries. Great characters! 📚📖📚
So sorry to hear about the loss of your father-in-law. 💙 I loved The First Lie Wins, but I did see the twist coming- I think I've read to many mysteries over the years. 🤣
A great podcast, a little bit of everything. Summer is such a great season; it comes and goes around me in a few months. Finding summer knitting patterns to knit and wear is very fun. Summer colors are some of my favorites. Your custom yarn is beautiful, I liked seeing around your farm, the flowers and bees, very pretty. With anything we do often we find it easier, and we get better. Comparing my early knits, sewing or even cooking, I am much better at it now and even enjoy wearing what I make. All the best to you and your family. Thank you for a great episode.
Great podcast! Loved the footage of the Arkansas landscape. Please don’t beat yourself up about the unfinished tests…your input is helpful no matter what the calendar says. We all have issues and distractions that require our attention and I hope you and your family continue to heal and feel supported.
I’m currently working on the Margaux top and think it would be a great one to use your lilac yarn. Also just finished A Frozen River audiobook and Loved it!!!
Ooooh! I love the green test knit that you're doing. The tank with the boat neck! Oooh! Thanks for another lovely episode! Love when I see a notification that you've done another video! The outfits you've sewn are also adorable! Love! 😍
Kaci I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this! You inspire me to try and create wardrobe pieces/outfits that I will love. Maybe one day I will even force myself to sew my own garments. The footage you included of your property and the area took my breath away. I need to visit Arkansas. For the ZeeZee yarn in that sweet colour Paloma by Libby Jonson or maybe even the Bygone Blouse by Lydia Morrow with some orange buttons.. squeeeee! Whatever you chose will be amazing.
Thank you for suggesting the knitting PT! I wasn’t getting too much pain previously, but I tried a stash yarn this year that flared up my arms and drastically affected my normal making schedule. I will for sure be checking out her channel!
Great podcast as always! I’m so sorry to hear about your father in law. I hope that everyone has been understanding about delays in test knitting and you’ve been able to take the time you need. You’ve still been very productive! I’m always amazed at how much knitting you get done. I love the way the book club cardigan is looking! It’s a beautiful pattern. And I’m planning on casting on the moon set tee by ozetta soon- it could be a great fit for your zeezee yarn.
Lovely episode! I get really inspired bye all your projects, I think I need to start a few more to have more to choose from. And congratulations to 5k!!! That yarn looks lovely ❤
I bought one skein of Seashell yarn and then went back and bought a tee quantity in one color and several other skeins for summer shawls. I'm in Texas and we've had heat advisories for a heat index factor above 105F several times already and it's not even June yet. Yikes! I'm really looking forward to trying more linen, cotton, silk, and bamboo blends.
Such cute clothes you are making. The skirt you want to make would go great with the gingham top you are wearing (unless my computer screen is off). Your garden looks great. Harvest a big batch of fava beans right now.
Your book club cardigan is so gorgeous, I've bought the pattern and I'll be starting it as soon as I've finished Sari's rivendell sweater. Hope you're doing well and taking care of yourself.
Canadian here (from Ontario). We pronounce toque like you said. The pronunciation that the audiobook narrator is using (toke) is the word for smoking marijuana lol
In the Arkansas Digital Library Consortium in Libby, I'm currently in line for Funny Story by Emily Henry with 290 other people. Only 94 other people for Dune though.
That gingham fabric is SO good I’m tempted to relearn sewing just to use/wear it. Otherwise I might try to knit a gingham sweater using similar colors!
@@YoungfolkKnits I’ve had eyes on the Gr8 Gingham Raglan by Jessie Maed for a while… and if I chicken out on the whole sweater in that color scheme I could just use her gingham hat pattern!
You should see what libraries in your state offer a free digital library card for Libby. I’m in Texas and the Houston public library and Harris County have digital library cards for any Texas resident. Using these library cards on Libby in combo with my actual library card means I always have a book to listen to. Each library system has different hold amounts/ check out amounts/ availability
@@YoungfolkKnits I just googled free Texas state digital library cards. Someone had already done the work for me in Texas, but you could also check major cities in your area or neighboring counties what their policy is. Once I filled out that county’s digital library card application and received the card, I went to Libby and added it! In Libby, you go to the center icon (three lines) and then under your current library card, there should be a “add library” and manage cards” area.
What a fun episode as always! I thought I would shed some light on the audiobook thing. It's very likely the narrator is from the US. I'm an author (and knitter!), and it can be so had to find narrators native to the place where the book is written who are available at the time the audiobook is being created, and the bulk of the narrators are US speakers, then followed by British speakers. Trying to find someone from Australia, NZ and even Canada can be tough as they get snapped up quickly and book out very far in advance. The "toque" thing really threw me when I first moved to Canada. In Australia, where I'm from, we call those knitted hats "beanies " :)
I just started the Mount Pleasant Tee by Pip and Pin to wear over a few of my summer dresses. Also, I agree that Arkansas is still hot into October. It's like we get November for fall and that's it! Lol
Absolutely love that green color and the tank. I can't wait to make it myself. Have you ever tried Everand (previously Scribd) for audiobooks? The membership is $11.99 a month. You don't get credits, and you don't get a book to own, but you have access to an unlimited number of audiobooks every month, and they have an amazing selection. I do have Audible for when I desperately want a new release the minute it comes out, but if you're willing to wait 30 days, Everand gets a LOT of the newer releases eventually. And they usually have some sort of free trial membership, for like 30 days or something? I don't have any affiliation with them. I just absolutely love them. My wishlist is about 100 years deep and growing. I never have to feel rushed to finish a book because you have access as long as you have a membership, and I can have multiple books going at once. I don't tend to listen to a book more than once, so owning them doesn't tend to matter to me. Something worth trying if you haven't already. :)
That green is definitely your power color! I recently made the Brooklyn Raglan Lite tee by Tori Yu and I’m getting ready to cast on the Sonnenstuden tee by eviknitwear - either would look great made with your purple yarn. I get the hurting hands business…I even get pain all the way to my shoulders but the dopamine from the knitting fights with the pain and always wins 😂😂😂
