Thanks for making this video. Barely any mk8 R performance videos out right now. Probably since its the new generation but content like this is exactly what I wanna see.
Nice work chaps - nice intake noise too. We did the muffler delete on my Mk7R and my misses says it sounds like a seagull being sick. Can't please everyone.
Excellent work, Gents. Intake is great. I know the MK8 R ecu isn't cracked yet, but is anyone actually working on it? Yes or no is fine, we don't want to incriminate anyone.
A positive step was made last week, as we can not at least log the factory ECU. Hopefully we should be able to flash the software in the coming months. There are only a handful of ECU communication tool/software providers in the world that the whole tuning community uses, and what usually happens is one of those companies unlocks it, then all of a sudden everyone in the world will be able to do the same thing - flash the software. However, the difference come in on competence and testing etc.
@@RegalAutosport Is there a particular reason they're struggling to crack it or is it just being a bit awkward? I imagine once it's done we'll be seeing 400ish hp once the ball's got rolling on it.

Dope content!! intake is brilliant!! when and where is it available? Thank you in advance!! i figure if i get parts before the car ,, then i hv to get a new R...lol
@@RegalAutosport that should unleash some power. Probably frontpipe and a good full catback system. I think you could also gain more if you change the intercooler and chargepipes. Should reach 400hp
It's a lot of money for a slight increase in hp even with the chip added. It costs about $2,600 in Australia. 6hp=4kw. This increase without chip works out to be $650 per kw. WHAT!?!! With the chip there is an increase of 15hp=11kw. That equates to $236 per kw. It looks fantastic and I totally understand people wanting to maximise power but I see no value in this type of money spent. You're better off investing in a cheaper intake system, add a down pipe with catback system, then getting it tuned for significant gains.
@@RegalAutosport I am actually lol. Sarcasm can't mask straight facts. I mean, you're the one that did the testing. I just analysed the results. I guess there's no logical argument or rebuttal then. Thank you! Try again!
@@slyarsenal Said nobody ever who was fun at a party ;) If you exclusively analyse the data through the lens of 'output gain vs. £ spent' then you are correct, but for the people who value the aesthetic, carbon fibre construction and outright highest performance gains, the Eventuri is there.

You'd need to speak to VW about their warranty details and what you plan on doing to see if it is covered or not - in most cases it just invalidates the warranty on that part.
By the looks of it , I’m curious. Has anyone tried to fit it on a MK7/7.5 R? I mean it’s basically the same dimensions. Eventuri themselves say no, fearing no one will buy the surplus of MK7 products.
@@RegalAutosport well obviously not right now, but a year+ from now, yes. I’m sure there will be plenty of people who buy it new, who sell it sooner than expected, for whatever reasons.
Yeah even the mk 7.5's with 20~30k miles are going for low $40's which is insane. That's more than what I paid for my 2017 MK7 R brand new. My Tesla lease ends in a little less than 2 years so I'm hoping the market has settled down by then and also eagerly watching to see how the MK8 matures as I am kinda feeling like I wouldn't mind getting back in an R... unless I am in a position financially to swing for a used RS3. Right now, low mileage ones are a cool $20K more than a used R and after now having spent over a year in a car that's faster than the Golf R and the RS3, I can comfortably say, I'd probably be just as happy in a tuned/Stage 2 R as I would the RS3. Just not sure if I can get over what they did with the interior/controls of the MK8 though... and that's saying a lot as I only have like... 2 physical buttons in my model 3 :O

Hi, could u tell us when this intake will be available on the market, please ? Thanks (I am waiting to install it on my mk8R akrapo :)

It would have been interesting to see changes also with forge enlarged inlet pipe
The forge inlet would not fit it’s too long and designed to fit the standard airbox .
@@jasonlightwood7860 That thought had crossed my mind. Would have fit no problem with the R600 intake though.
Eventuri has an improved intake hose, so the forge hose is redundant now
