I have never been so hyped for a 2D side-scrolling as I am for this game. If Mario Wonder looks this good and polished, just imagine what the next 3D Mario is gonna look like on a more powerful system. It's gonna be insane!
I think the boot looking enemies in the lava world is a popcorn kernel because in another scene we see a popcorn looking version of it. Maybe if they touch those fire blocks they turn into popcorn

I just noticed that the Yellow enemy that you said you have no idea what it could be, they could actually be the “corn” enemies that when touch something fire or hot related, turn into that popcorn looking enemies, that’s probably it!
27:35 I believe that is the invisibility badge. The rainbow badges might all be challenge badges to make the game harder. Foe example the jet run badge might make it harder to jump to where you want to go.
that weird boxing glove with feet at 9:00 is probably an unpopped popcorn kernel because at some other parts in the trailer theres some popped corn enemies that jump around similar to thwimps and im guessing the kernel turns into popcorn when it comes into contact with something hot
I don't know if anyone else noticed but Bowser did not just fuse with the castle. He also fused with his koopa clown car, which explains why he/it flies.
My three biggest hopes for the game. - Boss fights are a lot more in depth like the ESRB rating suggests - levels with 4 or even more star ratings make things much more challenging. - there is a secret world unlocked if every single wonder seed is collected like in previous titles. Loved this breakdown can’t wait for this game come the 20th of October.

I might buy this game. At first I thought it wouldn't be too good, but now- I'm about as excited for this game as I was for TOTK, which is saying a lot.
The stone piranha plants that you talked about at 6:33 are just purple flowers that are dried up. When you put water on them they bloom and spray purple and standard coins. Go to 12:42 to see them bloom!!! They might be piranha plants but I think they are just flowers. Super excited for this!!!!!!!
Honestly I see them adding online co-op later, intentionally, purely because the devs first want to see how it actually works. The devs of SMM2 were during development not aware it was going to be so hellish, as previews and stuff always worked flawlessly. My guess is that they will see if the ghost players work remotely good, and if they do I see them add it later. I just think they don't want to ruin the package with a not functional online co-op
yea but to be honest i really don’t care about online play i mainly play these games on my own because as a friend said online co op isn’t fun it just makes you annoyed and want to kill the other players similar to 3d world it’s just not fun in some people’s eyes including myself there’s a reason why first party games are the most popular it’s because people enjoy playing by themselves the most and it really shows
Here's what I think the enemies do along with MY OWN names (If they are already explained in the direct I wont go over them): Talloombas: the tall goombas that takes down enemies or other players while it is going down. Bulrush: The Reznor dude that can ram like the bully but it also a platform as it runs. Goomboot: The snow goomba that can kick ice blocks Budding Piranha Plants: Probably not enemies but if touched by a shell or player or something, it summons a purple coin. Shnails: a koopa that can move along the sides of the walls. The shell acts like koopa shells. Without the shell, it probably makes you jump higher when landed on. but smol just bounces you and dies. Turbo tails: the arch podoboos Pirocnha plants: It definately gives a purple coin once watered or vine out cause you see that. Pricky: Underwater pokeys that appear out of pipes. Fleep Fleep: The flat Cheep Cheep that comes up and down from the sand. Peck Pird: Shoots out temporary platforms that activates once hitting a wall but also probably damage players on the beak's journey. Armordino: Lizard Armadillos that can roll like koopa shells when near mario or when stepped on. And if stopped will probably go back and do damage if held my mario Pot Hooks: Can be swung on once but also shoots spike balls vertically as seen in the direct for a second. Magmike: Just a spike block that can be safe to walk on when extinguished Kernumba: just maybe acts like a goomba that pops into Popcoobas when touching something hot for a few seconds Dry Dog: The dry bones creature that can be pulled on the leash to kill but jumping on it just knocks it out. and the leash is unavailable when knocked out. Flame Spike: Angy spikes, Who shoots projectiles that dosent listen to gravity. Wubba: that goo enemy that appeared in the thumbnail of Wubba Ruins that can go in the slime. (maybe you can stand on the slime but when entered horizontally allows mario to walk though the slime and encounter this enemy.) Rrrumbas: Just rolling goombas that can be defeated using the Drill Power up Hoppos: The bouncy hippos. probably not enemies. Rolla Koopa: Self explanitory Brick Bros: Pushes Pipe heads. Rombomb: the shadow ball enemy that probably explodes when near players. Popcoomba: the Popcorn dudes that jump. Trick Doors: If you get near them, You are chased until you are a decent distance away. Luigi hates them but dosent show that. Balloonies: Weird name but they see to be like a bullet bill that is bouncy and looses mass each jump Shock heads: Electric Hot heads Paramuncher: The are munchers that play in 8 directions. Hooters: spawns from nests and follow mario. Just a bullseye bill that can be summoned vertically Puff Pird: The bubble version of the Peck Pird Purple fuzzies: NEW FUZZY TYPE! they probably give purple coins when somehow defeated. Track Wigglers: Follow a path and damages those who jump on their armored parts but if stepped in the unarmored segment, it will decease the amount of segment and removes armour or just bounce you. Condorpedos: the Condarts that go through water Weezel: The rodents that steal collectables and run away. Pretty sure they shoot strawberries aswell.
Just incase people suggest Kernumbas immediately pop, take a look at 8:10 and see the dude walking on Magmikes. Also I think i did so much of a great job that some of these names may be official. Im not sure tho.
It's like they took every idea that they implemented in the past and also every idea that people have been pitching to them and then just put it in with their little refinements. This game looks incredible. Really curious what the secret world and potential secret character will be. There's no way they're not doing it
I don't think the flower color indicates rarity of badges, but rather their use and way of obtaining. The orange badges all seem to be movement based and gotten from special levels. The blue badges seem to be utility based and bought from the poplins. The yellow one we currently don't know how we get them (maybe through world completion) and seem to be challenge based; they are the ones with invisibility and perma-run. Edit: After watching a bit farther, I see that my theory on the uses for the first 2 types is literally confirmed

The Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct was awesome and like I said Nin10doland I can't wait for Super Mario Bros. Wonder coming out on October 20 next month as a sign to say a big farewell to Charles Martinet and his 30-year career for doing the voice of Mario and for making my childhood memories a reality as I was growing up and also for going on those big adventures.
I noticed that a lot of the levels had more mechanical or puzzle-like parts, which makes them look like Mario maker levels, which also makes me really excited for what fans might be able to make with it in Mario maker!
This game reminds me of yoshi wooly world, every level was different and the artstyle was so cheerful. Not to mention the wonder seeds that can transform Mario.
For the characters thing, I have a theroy that the 12 characters that were shown are the default characters and the one's that you start of with, maybe what happens is that if you complete the game differently each time you'll unlock a special character that wasn't in the original character selection screen. Like if u complete the game using only coin magnet or jet run badges you'll unlock Wario, Completing the game while Invisible can unlock Waluigi, maybe saftey bounce you'll unlock Rosalina, etc. And also I have a therapy that the zen castle area is the World 4 Castle with the area with the hotheads with the night sky are probably the last few areas of the castle before fighting whatever boss will probably be in there.

There is one scene where we can see this World in the background,while a huge Piranha plant of bowsor explodes. So i think the 8th World is a Bonus World and the 7th is the final. Maybe the 8th World is in the universe,which we can see in the background of the Worldmap.

When they show the standees, there seems to be 12 for each character, and they r all based off power ups, if u look at yellow toad's, underneath the normal yellow toad, there is one unlocked which is just barely on screen, and i think that one is for the mini mushroom, so maybe that will be in the game, and there might be other power ups that haven't been shown off yet
My guess is that only the four standee slots with the silver border are for powerups. In the direct it looks like the yellow toad in the lower left corner is just ducking. So the first four standees could be four different poses.

OMG GOOMBAS AND KOOPA TROOPAS AND PIRANHA PLANTS ARE RETURNING! I can’t believe Nintendo did this! That’s insane. I thought for sure they were going to bring back Shy Guys that only appeared as enemies in a few Mario platformers.
You seem to have missed some yourself: 1. There are not 6 black piranha plants, there are 8. Maybe hinting to 2 DLC stages. 2. The counter platform is based on what step on it, including items. 3. There is a red pipe. 4. The “stone piranha plant” is just shown later that is a plant that requires water and then blooms and give you stuff. 5. There is a concrete block in the hoppycat section. That seens to serve no purpose. 6. Based on the spiny being upside down when elephant Mario hits it, seems like they will move on ground, not bounce. 7. In the bubble power up section, where Roller Koopas appear, there are some plants with the flower outlined, which might means there are P-Switches. 8. There are multi color spikes. 9. There is an strange dot where Marii is converted into a Goomba.
At 10:57 you can look at the top and count 8 dots for 8 different worlds. They said 7 in the Nintendo direct so there is likely to be a secret world, or maybe bowsers flying ship itself is a world? Idk

6:34 I can actually answer this In this part as shown in 12:42 you see two of them surrounding the Talking Flower, which after Mario throws the pot of water turn into those glowing flowers which then dispense coins, confirming what you said about having to give them water
For a few more You don't seem too good with fish as seen with the flatfishes and the "balloon-frogs" And you ask what the other characters are gonna do for the 'parachute cap' even though we do see some of the other characters who just get their own caps

There is one scene where we can see this World in the background,while a huge Piranha plant of bowsor explodes.
So i think the 8th World is a Bonus World and the 7th is the final.
Maybe the 8th World is in the universe,which we can see in the background of the Worldmap.

The smoke piranha plants really remind me of streamers for Origami King- once you complete a world, one goes away. It's pretty cool!
When they show the standees, there seems to be 12 for each character, and they r all based off power ups, if u look at yellow toad's, underneath the normal yellow toad, there is one unlocked which is just barely on screen, and i think that one is for the mini mushroom, so maybe that will be in the game, and there might be other power ups that haven't been shown off yet
My guess is that only the four standee slots with the silver border are for powerups. In the direct it looks like the yellow toad in the lower left corner is just ducking. So the first four standees could be four different poses.
@@obelustilde9427 that's a good point yh, to me, what we can see just looked smaller than regular toad, but it's not like there's that much to go off of, so u could be right honestly, as well as that, now we know the Yoshi's and nabbit also get 12 Standees each, and they can't have power ups, so it would make somewhat sense with them as well
The fact that there is a random button on the character select screen is awesome considering that I am very indecisive, and it takes me a very long time to choose. Now I won’t have to choose between Daisy and Light-blue Yoshi 😂

OMG GOOMBAS AND KOOPA TROOPAS AND PIRANHA PLANTS ARE RETURNING! I can’t believe Nintendo did this! That’s insane. I thought for sure they were going to bring back Shy Guys that only appeared as enemies in a few Mario platformers.
You seem to have missed some yourself:
1. There are not 6 black piranha plants, there are 8. Maybe hinting to 2 DLC stages.
2. The counter platform is based on what step on it, including items.
3. There is a red pipe.
4. The “stone piranha plant” is just shown later that is a plant that requires water and then blooms and give you stuff.
5. There is a concrete block in the hoppycat section. That seens to serve no purpose.
6. Based on the spiny being upside down when elephant Mario hits it, seems like they will move on ground, not bounce.
7. In the bubble power up section, where Roller Koopas appear, there are some plants with the flower outlined, which might means there are P-Switches.
8. There are multi color spikes.
9. There is an strange dot where Marii is converted into a Goomba.
im hoping they still have normal yoshis in the game that you find in question blocks. Because they could make some very fun levels with yoshi
