Tuning The 2017 Turbo 4 Cylinder Camaro! On The Streets! It's A Lot Faster!

- We finally got the Camaro tuned, local tuner Ben Charles is who we had do it, he added about 5psi to it, so it's now running about 23psi for now, this was his first time tuning one of these 4 cylinder Camaros so he wanted to tune it really safe. The mods for this car are a cold air intake, a catless downpipe, this tune, and no mufflers. We're hoping to eventually give it some more boost later but this will do for now, it runs a lot better than it did.

He's very smart with tuning, one of the best around here. This car got a lottt faster than it was stock after that tune. It went from being an even race with a stock 2010 Camaro SS to beating a 2017 Scat Pack Challenger.

You'll have to do some research, I'm sure there's forums online about these cars, I'm not sure.
Do you have muffler delete on here or an exhaust system installed? She sounds beasty.

Before you guys tune any of these 2.0s make sure yo get an upgraded intercooler. Mine got blown at 19psi 😂
Our intercooler never had any issues, even at 28psi the stock intercooler was fine, intake air temperature was kinda high but it never failed.
@@1018Video i bought the car with a diverter valve, im sure thats the reason why. Mind if I ask this? Did your pistons fail at 23psi tuned on e85?

That's probably why your intercooler failed, too much pressure when letting off the throttle because of the aftermarket diverter-valve. Also our pistons failed because we tuned it on 93-fuel and added boost causing more heat and the rings expanded too much. E85 before the failure probably would've prevented ours from blowing up because E85 fuel burns cooler.
@@1018Video do you think 21 psi on 91 is good enough or i can push a little more? bc here in AZ thats the highest octane we have. Closest e85 gas station is 30mins away from me.

To be honest ring-land failure is possible on these cars even completely stock with no tune.

Wait each pound of boost(psi) is 10hp, but you are saying you are running 23psi so does that mean you are only running 230hp? because stockwise the car would be 275hp let me know if I am missing something here.
Stock these cars make about 230hp to the rear wheels (275 at the crank), and that's on the factory boost of 18psi, on 23psi I figure the car made around 280hp to the wheels.
Did you have to unlock the tcm before you tuned? If so where is the tcm located
Nope, you can get a tune without unlocking the TCM, but the tuner won't be able to tune the transmission. You can still do stuff to the engine without tuning the transmission.

I doubt it, this is a custom tune by our guy, plus it costs money to use HP Tuners.

Hey! So about a year and a half in, has there been any kind of issues that’s come as a result of the work you did in this video?
There are newer videos of that car, it ended up blowing up and we ended up fully building it, every video of everything that happened is on my channel.

He's pretty good that's for sure, no complaints here, and I haven't heard anyone else complain about his tuning either.

We was there for a few hours, he wanted to log the car a little, cause he's never tuned one of these before this one.
