- This is my unboxing and review of the 2020 Nerf Rival Charger Blaster. This blaster will retail for $34.99 and is available NOW. www.target.com...
This is a Semi-Automatic, Motorized Fly-Wheel Rival Blaster that runs on 6 C Batteries (Not Included). The blaster is not compatible with the Rival Rechargeable Battery Pack. This blaster has no deco, 1 sling point, and 1 tac rail. The blaster averaged at or ABOVE 95 fps in the chrono testing, about on par with a PERSES in regards to stock power. The blaster has a 12 round internal spring fed magazine.
We assume the blaster will also be offered in RED but as of the time of this video it has never been seen in red, including on the packaging back.

I realized after the video, the box claim I point out at 1:58 is actually a sticker! Under the sticker, the original printing claims 100FPS. They may have dialed this back (on the box) for legal reasons, but I did confirm that the Charger can hit 100+fps (sometimes) on the Chrono on stock batteries.
In before someone mods the Charger to have select-fire
@Black Zealot I'm kind of glad he's not an official spokesperson. They have to sort of lie & "hype up" the product instead of honest opinions. To a spokesperson, those aren't locks on the trigger, jam door etc, they are features.

The Bad Artist, I’d do realize this, but if the tray was the same as other Rival blasters then I could quickly swap my battery pack or a tray of rechargeable batteries from one blaster to another. This would also save me from carrying multiple battery types when I go to a nerf war. At any rate I prefer the battery pack because it is so much lighter than a tray of batteries.

Idea use the tubes as a speed loader system. If u hit the switch at the top it ejects the rounds to the hopper.

i’m actually surprised they didn’t go with the tube mags for this like the hypnos especially as a flywheel blaster
Make some minor adjustments in design compared to the Hypnos and maybe, just maybe it could have been compatible with that Rival 30 round drum... that is, whenever that is going to come out...

The Charger would be a great blaster for games with ammo limits. Playing with lower capacity blasters makes a player have to work on the accuracy of their shots.
Yeah, this is great for ALOT of Larps. Most of them dont allow internal mods and single fire only rules.
Jared, great first showing of a (I think) a cool looking blaster. I do like the P90 aesthetics, as for the lack of decals, I paint most of my blasters anyway so that, as you stated is a bonus. I will definitely be getting one, if and when they release it in the UK. Keep up the great work my foam flinging friend.
P.S. I'm still looking for the pile of rocking horse droppings, but I am hoping that my wife has got me the Perses for Christmas. Lol.
P.S.S. great going on your weight loss. I was a larger man but have managed to shed half my body weight, not easy so I know how it feels.

As far as this blaster, I'm a little disappointed they couldn't make the capacity higher since it's an internal mag. 8 more shots for a 20 wouldn't have been a deal breaker. Other than that, it's a Zeus. I'll save my pennies and just pick up a perses.

As for the Charger, it looks really cool, and its performance is great! I'm pretty disappointed it isn't compatible with the rechargeable pack, though. Still, I've been in the market for a motorized Rival blaster, and the Charger looks like a pretty solid option on a budget.
I bet it is gonna be cheaper than people expect!
@@JaredGuynes I can see that happening! Even if the MSRP is around $30-35 (which is already solid), with so many other options around, I wouldn't be surprised to see it drop even lower.

Well my mind is made up, I like this one! I like the stripped down look! I love that it’s styled like a P-90! The only thing I find odd (but acceptable) is the off center barrel. Thanks for again looking at a blaster so early! Happy holidays to you and yours!
Man, I am excited to see the Charger on TH-cam, finally. I wish it used stick mags and feed like a hypnos, but I can't complain too much. I love the P90 style body, and do have a great respect for bullpups. The flywheels sound threatening.
I don't know if i prefer the blue side or red side. The shade of red Hasbro used for Rival I really dig, but the blue does contrast better against the orange. I kind of wish the Phantom Corps line was still being expanded. Oh well.

Third, I feel that Nerf deliberately reduced the FPS claim so that it looks like the blaster hits harder than advertised. They've been stung in the past with their false claims. Congrats on the baby man. I'm loving the Nerf Rival line soooooo dope. I have a Nemesis, Prometheus and a Perses. The Perses is my favorite for the Rival line. It's like a mini Prometheus on steriods

The Charger is gonna be perfect for my youngest. Can't wait for it to be released!!! I do feel that it should have used the Apollo/Zeus mags. That would have made it even more P90ish, and more awesome. But I will still get it to add to the Team Blue wall.

I usually stay away from motorized blasters, cause I don't like buying batteries, but I do like the shell. It reminds me of the nerf rayvern, which was the first nerf blaster I ever bought.
You could put that sticker from the box on the Charger to give it at least something interesting to look at. Aside from that, its a nicely designed blaster. I definitely wouldn't mind having one.
