So nerf made a universal battery pack, then made another one, then made a third one, and now making nerfguns that don't take the packs at all. It's almost as if it's a deliberate scam.
And here we can see a perfect example of planned obsolescence in action. Sadly the average middle aged mom couldn't care less about what dart gun she gets her kid for christmas, which is all that Nerf actually cares about.
Nah, I'm pretty sure Hasbro is just salty that Dart Zone made it compatible with their blasters and just ditched the battery pack altogether. Newer Rival mags have an extra tab that makes it incompatible with Dart Zone's Powerball, Titanium, Accelerator and Velocity blasters. They probably couldn't find a way to do the same with the battery pack, so they said fuck it.
I see this and can't help but think it could have been even more P90 by using the Rival magazines to top load like the real thing and the speed of reload would make up for the lesser ammo compared to the Perses..add in a LiPo mod to help with speed (and save you money on batteries) and you got a pretty good thing...wouldn't be too surprised if someone did try to mod this so it takes the mags.
Double Your Darts Given Hasbro's history of Never including extra ammo when I first saw a 24 on the box I was hoping it had a 24 round Internal Hopazine but its just a Zeus only 12 dissapointment
I remember a line that used to have minimal paint jobs well before the "We gotta halve the paints" Era: the 2011 Dart Tag Reboot. The only painting I remember are in the grips and maybe the Nerf Logos. The 4/6/10/16/20s on their respective blasters were all etched in to the yellow plastics. It was also the first line that completely removed all N-Strike compatibility from it (No attachment points, granted that was fair because barrels would have caused issues with the Taggers and the Spectre was barely a year old at that point and its barrel is a bigger 'anomaly' with the Elite version still having compatability with the discontinued darts)
And after becoming Zi-O and using all of the Heisei Phase 2 transformation belt catchphrases (and Kiva I guess), the blaster is freed from its box to showcase its barrel being off-center.
It looks really well suited to some sort of atompunk / dieselpunk paint job. Like maybe yellow and black with weathering, and green or cerulean lights illuminating the magazine. Kind of a "reactor" look.

It's certainly a good budget entry into flywheel rival blasters and I absolutely love its shell design. Given the compact size and single sling point I'd say this is aimed at being an emergency backup for competitive nerfers, but also a perfectly usable primary for people who don't want to drop the cash for a Perses, but really want to get onboard the flywheel train. A couple of things that bug me though: 1. The Xshot Orbit Chaos holds slightly more ammo in a similar form factor, and that blaster comes in slightly cheaper due to being a springer, and doesn't have the additional cost of purchasing batteries. At a glance I think that waiting for the Charger's flywheels to hit max speed between shots will make it have barely faster firing and reload speed than the Orbit Chaos, which will beg the question as to whether the expense of moving into flywheels and purchasing batteries is justified. Plus, I think the Xshot might reload quicker both from empty and when topping off, especially if/when speed loaders start materialising in the aftermarket scene (if not officially from Zuru, too). 2. It's a blessing and a curse that the Charger has an internal mag. It does make it very affordable to run as there's no need to buy extra magazines, and topping off ammo mid-battle with what's found on the floor is very quick and easy. These are good pros, but having the same capacity as a detachable 12-round stick makes me wonder why they didn't just perfect the magazine system for the shell and ship the product with two magazines to go with its 24 rounds. It might make it a tiny bit more expensive, but in a world of hopper-fed flywheelers that hold 50 rounds all the way up to 200 in the high-end bracket, a 12-round internal magazine is very underwhelming, and it makes the Charger struggle to keep up with its bigger, meaner, flywheel companions. Plus, as mentioned already, that internal magazine allows springers to creep up and get uncomfortably close to its niche, so much so I think I think the Hypnos might be on par with it, and the Artemis and Hades inherently superior to it on account of higher capacity and slam fire. Cool shell, it seems to function well and behave like any good flywheel blaster, but wow, that capacity and slower reload holds it back...
I bough 2 of this one's at Walmart for 24 bucks each and mod both of them with 3000mah 2s Lipos, now they are in a whole new level and are waaay more fun to play with.

It's stupid and negates the entire point of rival accuracy when your aim will always been off center, EVEN IF...you correct for it. It throws your mind into a different state of having to aim other blasters. It's just not good. Main reason im staying away from this blaster.
They should hve sprung to use the tech from the up coming 30rd rival mag and made it an internal 30 mag in the stock of the charger. Would have been cooler
No. There are people out there with prototypes leaked from the factory, but it hasn't officially come out yet. Could have hit a snag in production, could have never worked and canceled it. We'll find out.

Ive seen this at walmart for 30$ and its a pass for me. Yes its a flywheel, but the Chaos Orbit offers the same capacity, better accuracy and higher FPS without the battery price tag. And with it being semi auto flywheels, pretty sure you can fire the chaos faster.
at first i thought it was fake because the stock looked sketchy-ish because it looked like an integrated khaos stock due to the lines from the battery door
All the rider puns XD. But for realzies, this is actually a pretty good blaster in my opinion. I do believe the best blasters this year are the savage spin and the orbit as they both have great performance with out modifications and are very practical in nerf warfare.
I actually hate the internal mags. Especially considering the proton packs and stuff. Now there are some possibilities but the shell size would allow some interesting things but I don't know how you feel about solenoid trigger/pushers and maybe hopper mods.. but again the Jupiter exists Soo..
Want to see nerf have another go at hpa, something like the apollo reskin would be easy to do, loads of space I'm the back, and a pump or something, could easily achieve the 100fps claims they put on the box
The real reason why Walcom hates rival it's because it doesn't have a proper shotgun with more than 6 shots (the takedown doesn't count because it's a single not various rounds)
Someone speeds to figure out how to add some of the bits of this to the Perces or however you spell it to make an actual nerf equivalent P90. I have no idea if this is possible or not but it would be sick.
Oh please please sir Walcom, add a hopper above the mag. You still pull back the follower to reload, but balls from the hopper drop into the mag. I know you can do it!

Internal mags are best for topping up fast while mags are ether empty when you reload or still have balls in them

If the internals are anything like the Zeus, then it should be easy to make it full auto. Which ultimately means Proton Pack mod.
