    All these pretentious people saying its a display piece. Display piece or collectors item, its still a toy no matter what excuse you give. We're adults who buy toys. Get over it. And for the price you pay for it, you darn better be able to play with it.

      I agree, but please don’t play with it. They are so fragile at the hinges. I’ve broken 3 hinges between megazord and dragonzord just setting it up for display.

    Everyone is complaining about how nit picky he’s being. I mean, is it not a good thing he has to be so nit picky to find problems with this figure? Doesn’t that say more about how good the figure is?

    In my opinion, this is the best Megazord I've ever had, it's so official comparing to the others. I really love the articulation for a collector like me it's the best because it's not a toy it's a collection piece. I agree about the wheels in the Saber-tooth-tiger and the Triceratops, and I also agree with the Mastodon legs movements. But this is not a great requirement if we compare the other versions. This Megazord is totally approved by me.

    Also a majority of what you complaining are flaws that most megazords still have especially with the pink's zord

I got lucky in preorders on Amazon when it was first announced and scored this for 175 or so before Amazon got the actual SRP for this, and price jumped to 275.

    I've had mine for 4 months, and already, I don't ever want to transform it again. The triceratops' neck feels like it's gonna break if I do, and the joints on the mastodon are all worn out. I understand it's a display piece and not a toy, but part of the appeal for me was being able to switch from the five zords, to tank mode, to megaword and back. And being able to switch it to various poses. I wanted it for its (presumed) versatility, not to be a statue. Honestly, the original '93 Megazord held up better in that regard. Would love to know how other people's SoC Megazord is holding up over time.

    OK, I know this video is over a year old at this point, but every point made here, while valid towards an american toy megazord, doesnt stand up to a collector item such as this. The lack of wheels is to keep it as close to show accurate as possible, the pterodactyl literally IS just a flat piece in the show, I dont know what you think they could have done better, and they were clearly focused on pose-ability for the megazord mode as a priority. So what if the separate parts dont move, are you really ever going pose them like that when the megazord is insanely accurate? It can pose better than some action figures man. It is also literally filled with diecast, whereas the american one has just enough to keep it steady and even at that, struggles when combined with dragonzord or titanus. The pricepoint has to reflect these.

  • @KibaRanger_Kou
    @KibaRanger_Kou ปีที่แล้ว

    I was on the fence about this thing for years now. Never particularly cared about Soul of Chogokin toys to be honest. Always thought they were more style than substance and no toy should cost over 200. It is sheer lunacy after a point. But as said at the start of this video "It is not a choice to be rushed into" Now the honeymoon phase of this thing is well and truly over and watching "5 reasons NOT to buy" and "5 reasons you SHOULD buy" about 600 times leading up to this Christmas. I decided "What the heck? You can't spend it when you are dead right?" So it now has the distinction of being the only SOC that I will ever own. Top videos. I love the self reflection before running out and shelling out hard on coin on something like this. Can only imagine what the reactions were like 5 years ago when this toy was released.

    this is why despite growing up with the power rangers and not G1 Transformers I enjoy transformer figures more. Power Ranger figures are just so limited in what they can do so stiff. While yeah the G1 toys sucked Transformers got better over time. Ranger toys remained almost unchanged in terms of complexity and posing. It is sad to because I love the Looks of a lot of zords but the simple transformations and lack of posing kills it for me every time, not to mention the cost.

    im picturing you sitting at your computer thinking of video ideas and you came up with this 5 reasons to buy/not to buy and did the reasons to buy first then thought "shit this things damn good im gonna have to get really nit picky" because all these reasons are nit picky, especially the pose ability issue, i can agree for the most part with no wheels or finicky to transform but this is the first toy robot of all of power rangers and super sentai to have this much articulation ever and your telling people not to buy it cause he cant look up? i bought it just because it has elbows, ive waited 25 years for those damn elbows, im not saying dont pick out its faults because yeah its not perfect but saying dont buy it for those faults is way to strong

      He gave 5 reasons not to buy it so is up to your choice to buy it or not he didn’t force u to but he gave you more detail information about the figure itself for those who haven’t own this should be happy to see this video which help them knowing what he really is buying. There’s always someone very picky about collector’s item such as this when we need to pay a crazy amount of money for this we should know it better and this video help those picky collectors to have a better understanding when they make their choices. Furthermore, I am sure he didn’t sitting at his computer thinking about the video ideas only cuz he need to spend a long time with this figure to know what reasons not to buy it.

    The only things I can agree with you on is its higher than should be price and the lack of wheels (though not really that big of a deal in my book, but would have been cool). I was fortunate to get mine for $170 on Amazon back in Dec, so I didn't pay full price.
    With that said, I'm sorry, but the Legacy Megazord is a shit toy. Stickers instead of painted and sculpted details. Tyrannosaurus looks gimped with those tiny arms and those big nudges on his legs. Not to mention the colors on the Legacy figure are not even show accurate.
    The one of a kind argument also seems like a stretch just to make this list be five things. It's the only fully combining Daizyuzin figure out there that is all sculpt/paint with no stickers. Plus, why would I need to have other mechs/Megazords to go with him? I already have the Legacy Dragonzord and Titanus, so I have a complete set of the Zyuranger mechs and it's not like Jetman, Dairanger, and Kakuranger are part of the Zyuranger universe. They are all their own separate universes, so I don't need to have them all be from the same line.
    Now of course we know at this point that Dragon Ceasar is coming, which is great (though I'm wondering how expensive a King Brachion will be if they do one), so he has his companion there, but it wasn't a requirement. Daizyuzin stands out on his own as he should.

    @DekaAvalanche 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    first, the thunder megazord is more expensive than the soul of chogokin version. so i don't know your math about buying 3 legacy zords for the price of 1 SOC. second, yes there may be wheels in triceratops and sabretooth tiger zords, but there are some features in these zords that compensate for lack of those (like opening mouths, weapons, added heft to the triceratops body, etc), heck i'd even buy this because they gave justice to the pterodactyl zord finally! 3rd, if you know that this is a collector's item you don't risk to play with it or irresponsibly drop it. And finally, there's the dragonzord

    Yikes, thanks for unselling me on this. I originally had both the encore Legacy MMPR Megazord, for it's combination and size, as well as the Robots Damashii Megazord for it's pose-ability and I felt like a chump when this thing rolled out when it supposedly had both in one package though. Thankfully this video had me convinced that the 120 some bucks for the two die-cast boys was worth way more than this 300 dollar junk heap. Heck, with the rest of the money I didn't spend on this one, I could've also bought the mini-pla model kits, which are somehow twice as durable and pose-able and also combine with a mini-pla Dragon and UltraZord to boot.

    Sry but what kind of (sry again) really dumb Reasons are this:
    "They dont roll" - Its a Collectionpiece, NO TOY!
    "Teradactyl is not that nice" - The Original dont do so much more and the connectior works totaly fine. I repeat: Its not a Toy to play with.
    The whole "Humpy Dumpty"-Point: that why Stands exist.
    And the Shoulderpads are Brilliant. U can easy and accurate modify them.
    No. 4: Dragonzord is announced in the planing since Sep. 2017 (ofc u couldnt know this because of the releasedate of the Video) but why count this as a "not buy" Argument after a so short of time the Zord itself is released.
    After the Announcement of the Legacy Megazord, there also wasnt a a plan abount the Dragonzord....
    And No. 5. Ofc he is expensiv. Which wonder if u see how much better this thing is against the Legacy-Line. How much more gimmics, accuracy and so on.
    i Agree to just 2 points: its sad, that the Mastodon Feet are stiff and the Cannons are to high as Megazord.
    But this are "2 Reasons, why the GX-72 isnt perfect", not "reasons not to buy".
    The rest of your Points are totaly over the top.

      If you have any experiences with the SOC line of toys at all, IMO you will be rather disappointed with the Megazord release as I was, It's weak in terms of effort they put in engineering the toy but still charge you premium it. I mean just purely in the toy alone the SOC Gaogaigar, Voltron, Gunbuster just to list a few, are way better engineered and similarly priced to the megazord.

    • @TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork
      @TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      YOu do realize there is a difference though, right? Golion, Gaogaigar, and Gunbuster are mechs from anime series. Daizyuzin is a mech from a live action series. It's not stylized and thin like the aforementioned trio because it has an actual person inside of the costume, so it has to be built around a human body. The SOC toy is recapturing that effect. It can do everything the suit actor can on screen, and that is what matters most of all.

    • @Akuma07
      @Akuma07 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kaiju no Kami Kaiju no Kami I ended up pre-ordering it when it first came out and I haven’t opened it because I was disappointed after seeing all of the reviews. Non movable wheels were a factor for me because it wouldn’t have been that hard to implement that into the figure. If it was just going to be a display piece, they wouldn’t have made it so posable.
      Speaking of posing, I know it’s an inherent issue with the design, but I wish they found a better solution for having a waist swivel on the t-Rex, but not the megazord. Some of the half measures they implemented on this figure make me regret missing out on the SRC Daizyujin.
      Speaking of the SRC, posing aside, that one came with more accessories, why couldn’t this one do the same? If pricing was an issue, then they shouldn’t have released Voltron right before it which had a ton of accessories, which could’ve understandably been sold separately for an additional price.
      I still pre-ordered the Dragonzord, and that one seems amazing so it’s making me want to open my Megazord when I receive it, but I agree with this video and jackblackwhole. It’s amazing for power rangers/Super Sentai merchandise, but compared to Soul Of Chogokin, they’ve done better.

    • @TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork
      @TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You let the lack of wheels keep you from liking the best Daizyuzin figure of all time? o_O
      As for the waist swivel, what do you mean it's an issue on Tyrannosaurus?
      Now I do agree that it would have been cool if it had included more accessories, but again, Daizyuzin is not Golion. You can't compare a thicker, man in a suit machine to a thinner, sleeker, anime mech. Golion came with stuff because he was cheaper to produce and everthing he came with was stuff he had in the show. Daizyuzin is the same. He comes with everything he had in the show.
      Finally, I couldn't care less how he compares to other SOCs as I bought him because he is in Zyuranger.

    Sir, you don't know the target audience for this line up. It meant for you to take photo. Not to play with. That is why the high price. It is not a toy. You can look it up. As long as you ask the right person, they will tell you it is for display or photo only. Not a toy.

    Part of me feels like if they do lightning line versions of the zords they should limit the diecast used in them, since that seems to be a major problem with legacy mmpr. Also they should have them all ready to go around the same time, maybe release each major set every 2 months. The problems of designing a toy to combine with something not designed to really has been a problem with these legacy lines. Only the falcon and ninja legacy stuff seem to have been designed with future releases in mind. RIP legacy shogun megazord.

    • @powerrangertube
      @powerrangertube  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      2 months will probably be a bit intense for most people given that they'd be about $100 each. But depends how they do it, so you see them fully duplicating whole seasons or just main megazords?

    • @valen9835
      @valen9835 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@powerrangertube True, it's just a random time I threw out. Just misremembered how long it took for bandai to finish season 1, minus the re-release to fix the power sword. Although even then they were reusing the 2010 mold, so they only had to fully design 2 zords really.
      I really hope they do all the zords of a season if they end up doing it. Not having Tor would be weird. He has more to do then Titanus when you think about it. He can store the red dragon and tigerzord. have a kind of standing warrior mode, and the ultrazord combo. Titanus while visually more appealing, only makes the ultrazord really.
      Besides, the absurdity of Tor just landing on top of a monster to kill them is well worth a lightning line release. I just hope they don't do something like Silver Titanus. The only way they could sell him is if they made him an event exclusive.
      As for non mmpr seasons, I don't see it happening. Figures are one thing, but megazords are expensive in comparison. I can't imagine them doing roughly two decades worth of megazords in the same quality as the legacy line with every season's zord. Not unless they do what super megaforce did with the red ranger figures, release only the main megazords of each season.
