    I believe the main problem with it is that it lacks the WOW factor the Megazord had for any PR/Super Sentai collector... Also, compared to other SOC releases it has less posability, specially the legs, they could've been much better!
    I still love this toy and I find that posable Battle Mode/Goryujin amazing, specially because it was my favourite MMPR megazord when I was a child

    Appreciate your honest feedback, sir. These videos are refreshing, as some reviewers like to embellish the SOC line on the name alone.
    I’ll be sticking to the Legacy Zords.

    Having all three versions I can say your concerns are valid but I just couldn't help myself and bought it. I love its screen accurate look and feel of it. Plus the shine to all the gold compared to the flat gold on legacy just makes it look better

      @@powerrangertubeI suspect that has something to do with a collector like yourself who’s had each version prior, but for someone like me who’s never had these robots in any form, this thing blows me away. The biggest issue for me is the lack of what it can do, but that’s a source problem, not an issue with this release specifically

    I don't buy SOC since it's unenjoyable. Through many reviews form professional collector, they point out that I have to be careful while playing it, the knee joints are poor - Red's are metal while Yellow and Blue are plastic. It's also hard to preserve. "Wearing soft glove to play".

    I agree with all points. Main one being that it’s too delicate and nice. If I knew then what I know now, I would’ve handled my SOC Megazord with gloves; now the chrome is forever tarnished. It looks like I’d have the same issue with Dragonzord.... I’m still gonna buy it being the fanboy that I am.

    The whole reason why I bought the SOC Dragonzord is that I wanted it to be a companion to the SOC Megazord. You also get a much better and more screen accurate version of the Dragonzord Battle Mode combination. With the original and Legacy versions, you end up with a chest piece that looks oversized compared to the tiny arms and legs of that megazord. The SOC version changes all of that and we get a more proportionate looking figure with the chest piece as well as the arms and legs looking the right size. The more screen accurate staff weapon is a nicely added touch to its appearance.

    Personally... as much as I love the dragon zord, I'm going to pass on it and the other chogokin zords.
    I'm perfectly satisfied with my TOYHAXed up Legacy zords.
    That and I'm gonna graduate college next year and I really wanna make sure I actually have a good financial future before I get a lot more of these luxury figures >w

    The fit and materials is such a huge issue with the SOC Dragonzord, I'll glady warn others not to buy it because it bothers me that I have. The piece that connects to the 2 extra tail pieces broke off with me rarely ever using it, the fitment issues mentioned in this video are spot on, I would also say that the hands on mine as well as many other are VERY tight. So much so that after that tail connector broke off I stopped swapping the hands because I don't see how they wouldn't break. Also, although I love my black/green megazord the chrome/paint on the chest and sword have oxidized or something bc they both have spots that are discolored and it's a real bummer. Mine basically all just sit on a shelves high up most of the time.

    When I'm buying Megazords The first image that pops into my head is the episode Eclipsing Megazord. I love my Zord toys to take a THRASHING like that episode. I liked the Legacy toys. A few little dings here and there but they are very much like that. Chuck it off the veranda and we are good. Soul of Chogokin can't offer me that so in the event of some accident and it's ruined? Nah I'm good. Also no toy should ever cost over $200. The only way I can see stretching it a bit is if it is the size of Fortress Maximus. It's sheer lunacy after a bit.

    This video helped me out a lot when deciding which Dragonzord to buy. To give some information: other then the original 90's version (which I love), I don't own any other Dragonzord toys.. BUT I've been meaning to pick one up hence why I watched a bunch of videos comparing both the Legacy one to the SOC one and tbh.. the Legacy one is more screen accurate, especially if you look at the gold (the gold isn't shiny at all in the show) and there are some other small issues with the SOC ones.
    However, the biggest reason why I opted to go with the Legacy one is the face sculpt and paint.. I love the look of the Legacy one and I love the fact that you can see it's red eyes.. It's something the SOC one doesn't have and the ZAP one from Hasbro also not! It's such a shame because both the SOC and ZAP ones look good but that's a fatal flaw imo when you want to put a Dragonzord on display! So yeah, thank you for all the video's on both the SOC one and the ZAP one, definitely made me choosing which one to buy a lot easier!

    • @powerrangertube
      @powerrangertube  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the SOC can do the red eyes but you need to slide up the battle mode eye visor plate! ZAP though is a total wash for red eyes.
      I think the OG has the easiest combinations, Legacy is the most individually substantial feeling and has the biggest 'hands' - SOC is the nicest overall - and ZAP has the best warrior mode apart from the silver shade of the feet on the 'Z' leg pieces is a bit cheap looking - but that dual-hand staff wielding is impressive.

  • @thefont9
    @thefont9 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I thought this was quite brilliant. It's very fair and well-reasoned. I"m still getting it because I love Dragonzord in Battle Mode so much and the fact that you can pose it with the screen-accurate staff, two-handed makes me happy. Titanus is a no for me, however.

    This concerns me a bit about the future of this line, and Bandai's high priced collectible toylines in general. Especially after Zyuranger, due to a major lack of nostalgia for the later seasons and their Mecha designs. It also shows why power ranger/sentai don't get that much possibility, even now (unless they are pla-models).

  • @skullguardian
    @skullguardian ปีที่แล้ว

    I think your #3 problem, with the eyes, may be misleading due to missing an action on the visor. The red eyes on the faceplate (when pulled down) can move up and down and I find my red eyes are complete... however maybe you forgot or it just didn't go as high?

    In Canada megazords dont stay on store shelves and they rise in price very quickly. Soul of Chugokin figures are the same but you can't buy them in stores. The megazord goes from $350 to $700 and Dragonzord is $250 to $400. It's an investment but they hold their value if not rise. Still if you're on a budget you may save $300+ just going for the legacy figures.

      Justin, I was in the same situation. My first Zords where thunder so I never got the original. I went with SOG because Legacy prices are just stupid. The Megazords are similar or more than SOG. Yes the Dragonzord is more, but I can't get over how the original had "chrome gold" and legacy doesn't.

      Man, it's too hard to say. I keep hold of both versions. Here's some thoughts.
      Legacy pros: A bit cheaper. Less reflective. Keep consistent with the Thunder and Ninja zords?
      Legacy cons: Megazord is technically a recycled cheaper toy. The MegaDragonzord will likely give you some hassle. Dragonzord battle mode looks a bit off.
      SOC pros: It's so pretty, great poseability, they've thought of everything!
      SOC cons: Expense, a little 'too' nice to casually mess around with. Dragonzord too shiny and not perfectly engineered. Ultrazord is just legacy but nicer. (Kind of like how Legacy Megazord is just 2010 but nicer...)
