It’s heartbreaking to see the heights that Power Rangers collecting was a mere decade ago when compared to today, not to mention seeing when Toys R Us still with us. 😢 Bandai did just about everything better than Hasbro. The Lightning Collection 6-inch is the one thing I’d give to Hasbro over Bandai, but even then, from the various QC issues, the absolute idiotic decision to go to plastic-free packaging, and now the radio silence from Hasbro as to whether or not the line (or brand in general) will even continue, I can confidently say things were much better during the Legacy era.
The way hasbro has handled the franchise makes me even more sad about the death of Brian Goldner (longtime Hasbro CEO) He ran Bandai America and was a huge rangers fan. I can't imagine a world where he wasnt the impetus for Hasbro to buy the franchise. Confident that had he lived, Power Rangers would be a lot better off in the Hasbro era.

The replacement knee parts for the Thunder Megazord were so straightforward and quick to get a hold of, I couldn't quite believe it. It was a great job by Bandai! I remember I just sent them a message, they came straight back to me the same day and asked me for my address, and then they posted them out to me almost immediately. It was fantastic customer service. Compare that to the replacement White Dino Thunder helmet parts Hasbro did for the lightning Collection figure, where I think you had to post photos of your figures next to hand written notes with some code on them and whatever other hoops they made you jump through
Makes me dread dealing with them if I back a HASLAB and shit is missing ( they did replace completely MY MINDBENDER it was shipped without the toy in a sealed box ) by sending me a SOLD OUT ITEM tho *proving to me THEY HAVE ITEMS IN STOCK but screw us over by choice* got it a week later

The Legacy line of Power Rangers was the best. I still have some of these amazing figures including the Thunder Megazord, the Tigerzord, The Ninja Mega Falconzord, the Green Ranger Power morpher and the Power coins.
Legacy line gave us so many things I wanted done right as a kid that I would love done better in the lightning collection line. I was so stoked that the lightning collection gave us ninjetti outfits, but I'd do anything to get the '95 movie figures in the scale of the lightning collection and a ninja Megazord with actual posability and articulation.
I'm still questioning the mystery of the Lion Thunderzord missing back half. It was clearly shown in the show, wished they released the back half because it looks ridiculous.
I remember that year long wait, and I had to sort of Frankenstein a combination between the Tigerzord and turbo falcon Zord. Then, I decide to go with a combination between the Tigerzord and samurai megazord legs. And eventually, after 12 months, I was able to make the proper combination. Which, after that, I mysteriously lost the leg panels for the thunder megazord. I am still looking for them to this day.
the legacy line was amazing. there were issues but Greg who was one of the people in charge of the line was very very helpful and insightful on how these were produced. there’s a reason Tor never got made
I missed out on the premiere but I always wanted the Ninjazords and movie figures. Only problems were Zordbuilder compromising the Thunderzords somewhat and the movie morphers not being that complete.
Best product ever was being an official fan club member when the show first came out. You got a membership card. A 10 vhs tapes of the show. 5 of them were the green ranger episodes. You got a poster and some other things.
I remember seeing the prototype thunder megazord in the Bandai booth at mcm and it had a the lighter green parts originally. When it got released eventually the green was a lot darker

I loved this line even though I didn’t get much of the product. I was in college and just out of college when the line was coming out and only window shopped at Toysrus. I did eventually get both morphers. But I would love to have all the Zords… merely a dream now
I still am rocking the Legacy Thunder, Ninja, Falcon, and Tigerzord as my only Zords besides the SOC Megazord & Titanus. My son has the Hasbro retail Megazord and a Japanese Kyurenoh of all things, but I certainly wouldn't replace any of my existing Zords with anything Hasbro is doing rn. And I actually wanted an Astro! But not with those QC problems... Still sad we never got a Legacy Shogun and Zeo, but that's just how the fortune cookie crumbles.
I think you nailed it with the comment about Bandai being better standalone Zord releases. I have a Tigerzord displayed and it looks fantastic, the only thing that brings it down a peg in my opinion is the garbage combination with the Thunderzords
Despite their critical flaws, the 2nd half of the Legacy Megazords was great! The Thunder Megazord, Tigerzord and Ninja Megazord all looked amazing on the shelf and only left me wanting the rumoured Legacy Shogun and Astro Megazords. I was one of the very few that was not hyped at Hasbro acquiring the rights to Power Rangers. Being a Transformer collector I was aware that Hasbro QC had been declining over the years. I also knew the Hasbro ZAP line wouldn't last long as the vision for it was just too big for the timeframe and budget it would take to get them all out there. I think had Bandai's legacy line kept going, I think we would have at least gotten Shogun, Astro, Delta, Mega Voyager, Mega Winger maybe even Tor by now. If Bandai was given another shot at the Legacy line I would gladly take it.
It was great line especially at the beginning because the prices were affordable such $65 or something for a Dragonzord. Bandai started getting greedy and increased the prices really high when they released the Thunder Megazord which didn't sell as well, making collectors and retailers wonder if the line was even worth collecting.
I bought most of this as it was released. The things i missed were Titanus and 5 color communicator. I really wish either Bandai or Hasbro would approach the Shogun Megazord.
I actually randomly got the McDonald’s 1995 movie Morpher a while ago thanks to a family friend, and it’s weird. But, it’s Power Rangers, so how can I complain.
I wish I was collecting during the legacy run. I was broke at the time, and I hoped the line would just always be around. Oh well, maybe bandai will do some japanese releases. I've been enjoying the Minipla quite a bit

It's crazy in hindsight the different decisions even I would've made. You do what you do at the time though and the fact the products exist in any way - even if they mostly seem financially unobtainable - is better than them never existing at all.

With the original 95 movie figures we got repainted power coins n each ranger’s color the only difference is that Aisha’s power coin was painted a more golden yellow then in the same shade of yellow thst the yellow ranger was and Aisha’s coin was the only movie coin I have noticed to have survived the move across town my family did in 1998 they went the ninja coins they were just reissues og the Dino coins that we got with the original morpher release in 1993
About the whole MMPR megazord legacy line but altogether they just look like a rolling block and ultrazord mode so I sold them, And no I'm all in on the zord Ascension project line Open they keep improving.
The nit pick you have with the Falcon Zord isn't really that bad. I'd gotten an original movie version Falcon Zord and it had the pegs and other connectors for the Shogun Megazord as well. They were just using the same mold for everything.

I remember back in 2014, where my parents and I would just go on a wild goose chase for all of the American ranger keys, and then I found the 20 ranger key set with the legendary morpher, and that’s where it basically ended for me with the keys. It stinks that I never found the (not) Q-Rex.

It pisses me off that 10 years ago when these came out, I was barely out of school and couldn't afford even the basic Legacy Power Morpher which were in abundance and reasonably priced back then. I know people keep saying the Lightning Collection Power Morphers are "good enough", but they really aren't and even after modding them with metal plates, which will set you back pretty much the cost of the morpher itself, totalling up to almost double what you would pay for a Legacy Morpher back then, it's still a huge chunky thing that's maybe 80% of the Legacy Morpher. I won't even go into the whole exclusive time Lightning Master Morpher release that Hasbro botched.
Yeah it's in hindsight surprising how value for money the Bandai legacy line was. They really were doing everything right and we just weren't ready 🤷♂️
