I'm a 2X Desert Showdown World Champion, that has worked extremely hard to earn those titles and belts. I met Paul Stanley, and even though he's not an athlete but a musician, he's always been a big inspiration to me. He's a hard worker and if it wasn't for Paul Stanley, KISS would not be in existence, and they would not have accomplished such legendary status!

I find KISS very hard to take seriously on any level but in every interview I've ever seen with this guy he comes off as very thoughtful and sincere. And in this case, quite knowledgeable about the history of the music.
If you feel entitled enough to be critical, then how about you show us what you have ever done that could even remotely compare to even a few of Paul's greatest songs.
Back in the day his voice was good and was perfect for a band like Kiss but as subjective as an opinion about who the best rock singer is I still have to give my opinion that Ronnie James Dio had the best vocals in Rock. After all this is just my opinion and that is what makes all art fantastic.
As far as Peter Criss being better. I don't know but I did always love his scruffy vocals and wondered why he wasn't a vocalist for a band or solo. His voice reminded me of a Rod Stewart style.

The two of them say the same kinds of things, but Gene seems like he is sometimes making an effort to offend delicate anti-commercial sensibilities.

As I drive my 18-wheel big-rig down the highway, more than likely I've got heavy metal playing on the radio turned way the hell up like a concert hall. Somehow I find that screaming guitars calms me down and helps me to concentrate and relax while behind the wheel of an 80,000 lb truck. Not all truckers are into country music. And yes, I do have KISS vinyl albums in my collection from the 70's and will till the day I die.

I always advocate not to knock what your young child gravitates to. It is often just their dream, thought, idea, possibly a good direction. Mine wanted graph paper at 8 years old. We looked at a lot of houses. Now, many years later, he does well in real estate. His wife joined him. They are awesome!

Not sure why he has the bizarre makeup and painted eyebrows, but he gave KISS credibility after Ace and Peter left, while Gene was pontificating to anyone who listened. Having said that, KISS is now living in the past, instead of building a future, as their new product is substandard to the old.
