I agree with the aluminum finish, I have difficulty hand cranking it as it like to slip off my hand.

Were you able to find something that helps you grip it? They should ship it with a grip thingy

@@nickscoffeestudio Unfortunately, none so far. I'm tilting the grinder to grind less beans thus using less grip. I'm planning to wrap it around with a piece of rubber but it ruins the aesthetic 😭

It does ruin the aesthetic, I agree. I had a little rubber sleeve off something else which did the trick and doesn’t look too bad, but still…

@@nickscoffeestudio indeed, I'm thinking of using rubber grips used in badminton racquets, it might work

Can you compare taste profile to other grinders you own?

I think it’s simply more balanced, and certainly more consistently balanced than anything else I own. It’s not that the taste profile is massively different to the Normcore V3 or Timemore C3, even the fellow opus… they all have 38mm conical burrs so I wouldn’t expect a massive difference there, but where this shines is that you will get a balanced shot every time. I find the opus particularly infuriating because every shot tastes different to me despite a replicated workflow. An educated guess here would be that the Varia is produced to a higher standard and tolerances. Hope this makes sense!
