    Love the double porch design. One other TH-camr showed that the dynema patches where the guys meet the ends do need seam sealing, but it is unique to see a tent with such headroom also so wind-stable.

      I think I will wait for rain Hedley, but Nortent are shipping them all factory seam sealed now.

    Many thanks for trying this out! I just love the area! Got to go back again...
    Loving the Ly 1 as well. Spent my third night in it and really like the space. Good to know that it also handles the wind well. Had an old Nallo and it was really loud in the wind.

    The roof of an inner tent is a good place to dry out base layers which have been rinsed out. This works particularly well if the tent is pitched during the day but it is also capable of drying clothes overnight.

  • @Martycycleman
    @Martycycleman 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Yep, well impressed really impressed. We use to dry our sock in our armpits overnight. They came out noticeably dryer and warm😊 Any one want to swap for a Vern 1 with footprint, early version.

    I was hoping you'd do a video like this. Thanks Dave. The tent has done well. I'm still not sold because of the small space in the inner, but for those who would be happy with the available inner space, the tent looks like a solid contender.

    • @Fellmandave1
      @Fellmandave1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @citizenwolf8720 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Fellmandave1 Yes, that's what I meant. I can see that it has plenty of head-room. Unfortunately just not wide enough for me and my Border Collie. Maybe they'll consider your suggestion of an extended inner. Anyway, thanks for the videos. 👍

    Pretty impressive stability there Dave, even with the single poles, though with 14 guys to potentially trip over, that’s some trip hazard. Double-poled, it looks rock solid. Still not convinced on the ratio of inner tent to vestibule space though for the price and weight of the tent. Plenty of height as you say, but I’d want more useable floor space inside such a large (and comparatively heavy) structure.

    • @Fellmandave1
      @Fellmandave1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm inclined to agree, Peter. Except with the guys, you are more likely to trip over the camoflaged outlyer! Thanks for commenting.

    Not had to dry more than socks before really, but only way is to either wear them or stick them up your top, anything damp hung up over winter tends to get a bit frozen 👀
    Good test of the tent, couldn't tell much of a difference from the double poles to be fair - guessing the door would fail before the poles but it looked to hold up fine as well. Doubt it'll keep the neighsayers away though 😂

    • @Fellmandave1
      @Fellmandave1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think it would have to be seriously rough before the double poling would be vital. It was just a slightly neater shape Thanks for commenting. Happily the nay sayers are growing quiter!

    Definitely looks like a good solid tent from the look of it without those guylines when it was double poled.🤔 Some of the stats that those Garmin watches throw up are fascinating, aren't they, Dave? And very accurate too. I never really thought of stress being a measurable factor before owning one of these watches but after a couple of days where things have gone unexpectedly pear shaped at work and you get home and your watch tells you that you have had a stressful day and need to chill out tells me that it has more empathy than some of the women that i have been involved with throughout my life and a lot cheaper too 🤣😂🤣

      @Fellmandave1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hahaha Olan, yes, when your watch takes care of you more.
      A big thing I notice is when I am a bit fatigued or have had a drink, my heart rate variability changes instantly.

    I suppose if you are climbing up high and facing high wind, then you need a tent like this, but for me it is way too heavy and doesnt cope with rain very well. I really dont think it would cope with snow very well.

    • @Fellmandave1
      @Fellmandave1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can understand if you can't carry the weight, but....All the models now are factory seam sealed and actually I think it will cope with snow very well, due to the upper tension and short distance. On what do you base this Phil?

    Thanks Dave for your reviews. I really enjoy them. I'm interested in buying a Nortent 1 person tent and am having difficulty deciding between the Ly 1 and the Vern 1. I'd be using the tent in the Swedish mountains second half of August to early September. Which one would you chose and why if you could only pick one? My main concerns would be weight, livability, handling of wind and how flexible it would be regarding finding a spot to pitch it.

    • @Fellmandave1
      @Fellmandave1  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Lars. Tricky one. I would say Vern, based on your criteria. If you value space, go Ly. Both are wind capable. Vern will be more pitch flexible. But hey, buy one and use it now!

    Hiya Dave, really great reviews on all your Nortent products. 👌 How do you you find the Ly1 copes with condensation? I've got the 2024 Vern 1 and as you know the inner has 2 small vents at either end. I was wondering how bad the condensation would be (on the inner) if both material doors on the inner are fully closed overnight, on those colder nights. 🤔 Keep up the great work mate, really enjoy your videos. 👍

    • @Fellmandave1
      @Fellmandave1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @1984flicky Hi! You know, after just two nights in it I don't know, but zero condensation so far. But with all tents you have ventilate lots or you can expect it. Thanks for commenting.
