After the disaster that was 1997s Batman & Robin, I was cautiously optimistic for Batman Begins, and it didn't let me down, saw it twice the first day it was out.
I saw it twice in the theaters and then 5 on DVD. By the time the movie came out i had seen tow of Nolan's previous films, Memento and Insomnia so i had good hopes for the movie but was not ready for how damn good it was. This movie was one of my most satisfatory film experiences in my life.
Wow, someone completely new to this Batman universe. Since his comic book debut in 1939, Bruce Wayne/Batman has gone through different variations in media depending on the time period, but I always enjoy the darker and more grittier interpretations like this one. Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy is amazing, so I can’t wait for you to see the next two films. I also love Batman (1989) directed by Tim Burton. It stars Michael Keaton as Batman, and Jack Nicholson as the Joker. That’s a great film too, and I would definitely recommend that as well.
Here’s some facts to help guide you on Batman: He’s always blamed himself for his parents death and part of the reason of why he became Batman is because he promised them he would avenge their deaths by dedicating his life to protecting the city no matter what it cost him. In this case, it cost him happiness because he purposely reminds himself of the pain he feels from their deaths and uses that against the criminals he faces and he really doesn’t allow himself to be truly happy. In fact, one of the animated movies showed him finding a woman and falling in love but he felt so conflicted about it because he was about to become Batman but knew he couldn’t if he chose to be with the one he loves and he went to his parents grave and started crying and begging them to tell him it’s okay to be happy because he feels like his parents would want him to avenge their deaths no matter the cost when we know that isn’t the case. And referring to this trilogy, Nolan took a more realistic approach to the character to where it’s still comic accurate but made it more grounded and more possible if someone were to try this in real life but it still works and stays true to who Batman is. For The Dark Knight, Rachel is played by a new actress just FYI and you’ll be left in amazement by the joker

'Batman is terrifying.'
Yes. In 99.9% of good portrayals he is exactly that. (0.1% variance because I am old enough that watching Batman '66 reruns on Sunday Morning while the folks visited their aunts and uncles is a cherished memory. Adam West wasn't Terrifying but he was cool. The exception that proves the rule.)
“Poor child”. Lol you definitely haven’t seen Game of Thrones! He’s a menace in that show
It's so weird to still see people be taken by surprise by the death of Bruce's parents... kind of like "I am your father"
I decided to sub to patron. Watching as we speak!
Didn’t even have to watch more then a minute of your TH-cam!
you need to turn up the volume on the watched content

Thank you, Addie. You made sense of something that's bothered me for years. 18:33 Whenever I watch this scene, I've been thinking, "wait, that's not the same coat. That one's old and ratty." I thought they just filmed the scene with the wrong coat. No, it's been seven years; it's become ratty since then. Duh.
