Another well explained tutorial Warro. That Marsh Grey 350 Classic looks fantastic & if I got one probably be Marsh Grey. The fit & finish on these bikes is great.
Morning Warro, it’s 10am here in UK. Brilliant video as usual. Very well explained. If you need to replace the bolt that was taken out when you took off the passenger seat it is M8 x 110. If you use two washers and a nyloc nut the length will be spot on. Ride safe. Ride often.

Thanks 👍 yeah its always drama removing tanks etc. i too had issues when i pulled the interceptor tank. even had a few issues pulling the 350 tank too....lol
Hey Warro, mine arrived today and I figured out the same solution as you, swapping the Allen for the hex bolts but you made the final fitting unnecessarily difficult. Instead of faffing with the Allen key or even replacing the bolt with another hex simply fit both springs to the brackets using the 10mm Allen and tighten before refitting the seat. To replace the seat offer both cut outs of the brackets up to the frame tubes and push the seat backwards; the give in the springs allows this and then locate the seat tank lug. Then simply fit the 2 hex bolts. Now you don’t have to fight with tightening the other 2 bolts further under the seat, simple.
sounds good to me. you should start your own enfield channel and i will follow your tips...lol on another serious note when i did this clip several months ago there was not one clip in english available. all i had was a couple of clips of guys in india fitting the spring kit and to do so -they totally pulled the rear mudguard to get at those dreaded threaded frame holes so i thought im not pulling the guard as its a big job and did this instead. since then i've probably pulled the seat 8 or 10 times but next time down the track ...and theres always a next time i will try your method out. as a rule i am not a fixer or problem solver. my speciality is buying new bikes which i do very well but fixing bikes......maybe sometimes...lol hows that!
@@ridewithwarro Right there with you, the RE method/design is ridiculous. As an afterthought I guess there is no real reason to use the bolts holding the brackets at all. The brackets are engaged via the scoop onto the frame and the springs which are only cosmetic are fastened to the bracket and saddle frame; nothing is gonna move and saddle removal would just entail removing the 2 long bolts and pushing the saddle backwards to disengage the tank lug. So next time I take my saddle off I’ll not bother faffing with the 2 hex bolts I think.

Hi Warro! Love the videos -just picked up a beautiful 2022 RE 350 in Halcyon Green - beautiful first bike. Is there a specific part number for this? I'm in Naples, FL USA but figure it would involve shipment from India anyway -just wanted to make sure I'm ordering the same part as you have here. Looks great!
Hello, I wonder if You could help me with a couple of questions about these seat springs. First; does the installation of springs increase seat height when using standard seat? And then does the springs have any additional suspension effect or are they just for show? Thaks!
Yo tengo una RE Classic 350 Signal Tormenta de Arena 2023. Me gustan los resortes del asiento. Le quedan excelentes. Pregunta. Los resortes cumplen la función como en la RE Classic 500 o en la 350 es solo estética? Desde Bs. As. Argentina. Un gran saludo. El Paracaidista.
Thanks for the extremely informative and diligent explanation of the installation Process… I’m thinking about making this change but I am curious if it changes the seat height? I’m assuming it does but you know what they say about assumptions…
if working on the stock seat i still think its about the same. the touring seat appeared to me a tad higher off the ground and seat slightly foreward. this may be an illusion too so shortly i will put them back to back and measure height and ride bike one and onto bike 2 that should give a final thought on it
@@ridewithwarro Thank you brother… I’m vertically challenged so I’m ordering the low rider seat, I prefer the looks of the springs (and my old ass back ain’t complaining about getting a little bit of additional spring). Thanks again for checking, it’s appreciated
@@LeveyAngeles either way you look at it -the seat itself is a pretty good soft ride so springs or no springs i think it will be fine. the low seat may not be as thick in the padding -not sure on that one
Thanks for the video. I’m putting mine on tomorrow. If you don’t put that long bolt back in the back of the seat it make it a true springer seat. What do you think?
yeah it does and i actually tried it and its a bit wobbly...lol i suppose one could try a smaller diameter cross bolt. that would lock the seat into position and give it a bit of roll...lol
You make the best videos in my opinion, just a quick question, if you've chosen to have the bike without the pillion seat, why have you left the foot pegs on?
thats a pretty good point you mentioned and even i don't know why i have not removed them...lol not as if i ever carry a pillion. those pegs i may remove soon. good call there!
Maybe they should just fit springs on all the solo seats at the factory. Seems kind of silly that it’s an after market part for that seat. Also- why would they instruct to remove the rear mud guard? Seems akin to something like removing the engine to fit a shift lever! The bike really looks to be nicely made, simple. Hopefully the coatings, bearings, wires, and electrical connectors are all first quality too. Good video!
yeah i had heaps of 500 and the problems that went with them...lol these new 350's are great well put together bikes and very reliable. both mine only had one issue...they both had faulty sticky speedos. ive done heaps of clips on these over the past year and learnt how reliable they really are. plus taken the blue one in some very rough outback roads too. good to hear you enjoyed the clip too. if you want to see a hard ride on a new bike check out my latest clip on the honda cb125f -really wild dirt road country all the best!
i have not actually seen that mod but i think the power on tap is passable by the way it runs so far. i think if the potential buyer expects more from it the best idea is pull out more cash. in most cases i find that stops a lot of them!
just for looks but if you buy the touring seat and add the springs not only does the bike look better but the ride on the touring seat is far better than the stock unit
I see in your video that you did not replace the screw that holds the passenger seat support, is this screw really necessary since there is the other screw that holds the driver's seat?
I can not understand that at Royal Enfield they can provide the wrong screws when they are original parts so necessarily tested by them, at one point they did not realize that it did not fit with the screws they provide?
well i don't unstand how they put the front fork springs in the wrong way on my last new 2020 classic 500 and they had been doing that same task for 10 years...lol
Excellent and informative video 👍👍👍 Am I the only one who wishes RE provided a solo seat and springs that allow the rider to sit 2 or 3 inches further back from the tank and an inch or two higher up ? Maybe it is just me and my unfeasibly long legs....
it does on the halcyon grey with the touring seat fitted and easily noticed too easpecially from the rear view but not really noticeable on the stock seat
Warren great vid the spring kit and yes this might sound really dumb but does it add comfort to the ride? In other words it is functional not just cosmetic?
no it just adds to the look and for that reason alone is well worth the effort to buy. but with the optional touring seat its still a pretty good ride.
i think more so for the looks but saying that because the stock seat is far better comfort wise than the 500 -its a far better ride experience. on a C5 you sit on the seat. its more like a flat platform to park your bottom end and on the Classic 350 which is a far softer medium you partly sink into the seat. over-all i would not swap the C5 seating for the 350 experience period! many a C5 bikes i've been bounced off that seat hitting bumps in the road but not so here
Why attach the brackets at all? I mean why not just bolt the springs onto the seat and leave'm hanging just like that. I'm probably missing something. 😕
i think the touring seat would be the far better choice for you and i think the spring kit would top it off nicely. the springs i feel are most cosmetic but look good on the bike
Let me know rider seat spring only for aesthetic vintage look or it provide little comfortable for rider. I want to know this before buy? Help me with comment😊
actually been too wet to get out and test ride it. i don't love riding bikes that much especially on arisky wet track...lol but sooner or later the sun will shine and when it does its just a 3 minute run to open road and i will give it a good run
ive tested it on both bikes and my thoughts are...dont buy it yet! i dont think they have the maps right as i tested in on both stock bikes and they ran worse. ran right through the maps too. i then fitted the sports exhaust it may have run slighter better with it on. after that i ran the bike with sports exhaust and no fuelx and it appeared to run near the same so i removed it totally
more so for the looks of the bike and for a very little $$$ outlay - it improves greatly. comfort is fine anyway with stock seat and better still with touring seat
YES, DEFINITELY. I had a 500 Classic that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED. The 350 Classic is simply so MUCH BETTER. There is NO Comparison. PLEASE test ride one if you can. Regards.
Hello Warrow. Do the springs make a good difference to the ride ? When my classic chrome arrives Im thinking of doing it . I'm in a 6 week que for the classic chrome to arrive
i'd say no and its just more a show than go but that isn't as bad as it appears. the ride quality on the 350 is far better than the 500 and its a good visual mod so just buy them

You could cut the Allen wrench 1/4 inch to make it fit better in tight spots.
good call but since then i bought myself a better socket and key set so its a lot easier task now
Great Stuff Wazza.
I just picked up my New Classic 500 Tribute Black. I was lucky. I looked for ages to get a new one.
Can I ask if I do my own service is my warranty voided?
i'd say a pretty good chance but at least do the first one with the dealer after that you have time to evalute your ride and decide if you'll go for the next
@@ridewithwarro have a good weekend riding Wazza
@@TallyHoTech that too...lol
Looks great!
eBay item number:194985729661
Hi there these touring seat are between £75-£90 in England try looking up Hitchcock Motorcycles they have most R E mod parts.
Hello, I wonder if You could help me with a couple of questions about these seat springs. First; does the installation of springs increase seat height when using standard seat? And then does the springs have any additional suspension effect or are they just for show? Thaks!
no increase in seat height and no help in a better quality ride. just for the looks
Yo tengo una RE Classic 350 Signal Tormenta de Arena 2023. Me gustan los resortes del asiento. Le quedan excelentes.
Pregunta.
Los resortes cumplen la función como en la RE Classic 500 o en la 350 es solo estética?
Desde Bs. As. Argentina.
Un gran saludo.
El Paracaidista.
that too
Thanks for the extremely informative and diligent explanation of the installation Process… I’m thinking about making this change but I am curious if it changes the seat height? I’m assuming it does but you know what they say about assumptions…
if working on the stock seat i still think its about the same. the touring seat appeared to me a tad higher off the ground and seat slightly foreward.
this may be an illusion too so shortly i will put them back to back and measure height and ride bike one and onto bike 2
that should give a final thought on it
@@ridewithwarro Thank you brother… I’m vertically challenged so I’m ordering the low rider seat, I prefer the looks of the springs (and my old ass back ain’t complaining about getting a little bit of additional spring).
You make the best videos in my opinion, just a quick question, if you've chosen to have the bike without the pillion seat, why have you left the foot pegs on?
thats a pretty good point you mentioned and even i don't know why i have not removed them...lol
not as if i ever carry a pillion. those pegs i may remove soon.
good call there!
Looks great with the springs. Does it raise the seat a lot? The Marsh Grey is really growing on me.
i'd say on the stock seat still the same. on the touring seat it may tilt the seat slightly foreward. i plan to check this out more.
Brilliant video and your tip re the bolts replacing the Allen screws is brilliant . Thank you. Going in!
Good video!
yeah i had heaps of 500 and the problems that went with them...lol these new 350's are great well put together bikes and very reliable.
both mine only had one issue...they both had faulty sticky speedos.
ive done heaps of clips on these over the past year and learnt how reliable they really are. plus taken the blue one in some very rough outback roads too.
good to hear you enjoyed the clip too.
if you want to see a hard ride on a new bike check out my latest clip on the honda cb125f -really wild dirt road country
all the best!
I have heard tec bike parts is developing a mild camshaft for this engine. Might liberate a bit extra power
i have not actually seen that mod but i think the power on tap is passable by the way it runs so far. i think if the potential buyer expects more from it the best idea is pull out more cash.
in most cases i find that stops a lot of them!
@@ridewithwarro they got 5hp extra for the hymalayan. Hopefully they can do it for the classic and meteor
Hi Warro, are the Seat springs only for optical issues or will they change comfort as well?
just for looks but if you buy the touring seat and add the springs not only does the bike look better but the ride on the touring seat is far better than the stock unit
I see in your video that you did not replace the screw that holds the passenger seat support, is this screw really necessary since there is the other screw that holds the driver's seat?
only ever use the one seat support bolt. no issues so far on either bike so works fine for me
@@ridewithwarro thank you .
daft question. if i install the springer seat, can i put the pillion seat back?
all good there -i see no reason why not.
@@ridewithwarro as we say in France: it's the Monday morning machine 😂
@@hervemasson5976 i think all day-every day...lol
Excellent and informative video 👍👍👍
Am I the only one who wishes RE provided a solo seat and springs that allow the rider to sit 2 or 3 inches further back from the tank and an inch or two higher up ?
Maybe it is just me and my unfeasibly long legs....
mabe higher up is possible but the rearward position may be a problem
Hi Warro, does the spring option increase the seat height slightly?
it does on the halcyon grey with the touring seat fitted and easily noticed too easpecially from the rear view but not really noticeable on the stock seat
Warren great vid the spring kit and yes this might sound really dumb but does it add comfort to the ride? In other words it is functional not just cosmetic?
no it just adds to the look and for that reason alone is well worth the effort to buy. but with the optional touring seat its still a pretty good ride.
@@ridewithwarro Cheers Warrren once the G2 ia running i an so buying a modern classic ... great vids b.t.w 👍👍👏👏
@@Andrew-jh5uv good to hear you liked it. will be interesting when these bikes hit the solo overnight camp runs. working on them now
@@ridewithwarro schnell ....😄😉
Great video. Do the springs actually work like they did on a Classic 500 ? Or they are just for aesthetics?
i think more so for the looks but saying that because the stock seat is far better comfort wise than the 500 -its a far better ride experience.
on a C5 you sit on the seat. its more like a flat platform to park your bottom end and on the Classic 350 which is a far softer medium you partly sink into the seat.
over-all i would not swap the C5 seating for the 350 experience period!
many a C5 bikes i've been bounced off that seat hitting bumps in the road but not so here
Ah the one i have been waiting for! How has it affected the ride?
Should be no difference ... it uses the standard solid seat mounts ... by the looks of it.
alright with this factory seat and i think better still with the touring seat
Why attach the brackets at all? I mean why not just bolt the springs onto the seat and leave'm hanging just like that. I'm probably missing something. 😕
exactly!
@@ridewithwarro So you can just let the springs be unattached to the frame, yes? Would you even attach the brackets to the springs, or leave them off?
So, if im contemplating a ride from North Cape Norway to Gibraltar, 5500km, do you think the spring kit is a good idea?
i think the touring seat would be the far better choice for you and i think the spring kit would top it off nicely.
the springs i feel are most cosmetic but look good on the bike
Can you still fit the OEM passenger seat with this spring kit ?
dont think it effects that side of it as the main bolt is under the seat and the other two off the shock towers sso i see why not
@@ridewithwarro thx
Btw just mounted with m8x16 hexa bolts as you suggested without removing mudguard ... Took me 20 mins top !
Thx mate
@@pascalfellmann4727 good to hear you found it helpful
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Hows the chrome holding up?
no issues there
Back pain erukaa sir
that too...lol
do you have a crooked mudguard?
i once had a crooked landlord but that was many years ago.
Did it made the seat higher?
feels roughly the same to me but it is far better to sit on
I think the springs add a lot to the ascetics of the bike
yeah i like the idea of them too. fitted now to both 350's plus one is running the touring seat too.
Let me know rider seat spring only for aesthetic vintage look or it provide little comfortable for rider. I want to know this before buy? Help me with comment😊
And how's the Powertronic doing ? 🙂
actually been too wet to get out and test ride it. i don't love riding bikes that much especially on arisky wet track...lol
but sooner or later the sun will shine and when it does its just a 3 minute run to open road and i will give it a good run
ive tested it on both bikes and my thoughts are...dont buy it yet! i dont think they have the maps right as i tested in on both stock bikes and they ran worse. ran right through the maps too.
i then fitted the sports exhaust it may have run slighter better with it on. after that i ran the bike with sports exhaust and no fuelx and it appeared to run near the same
so i removed it totally
@@ridewithwarro thanks for the feedback. It seems consistent with what people are saying about similar "solution" for Himalayan.
Does it improve comfort?
more so for the looks of the bike and for a very little $$$ outlay - it improves greatly. comfort is fine anyway with stock seat and better still with touring seat
Shame you cant put a pivot instead of the front tongue and do away with the back bolt to make it a properly sprung seat instead of show springs
i think any-one with a fair idea on that side of it may probably work out an upgrade from the fixed unit
Do you still rate them better then 500s?
without question. if i had been riding these instead of the others -i wouldn't have permanent nerve damage to my hands.
I'm in a 6 week que for the classic chrome to arrive
i'd say no and its just more a show than go but that isn't as bad as it appears. the ride quality on the 350 is far better than the 500 and its a good visual mod so just buy them
@@ridewithwarro Your right . They do look good and ad to the bike looking like a 40/ 50 year old bike . I like the touring seat as well . Every time I watch one of your vids it makes me wish my bike would arrive . although I have two in my garage the Desert Storm 500 and 1980 350. Im like a big kid waiting and counting down the weeks. @@terrydenton3474 well all i can say when you do get it i bet you'll agree-the new 350 is the best single enfield has made to date.
i was on the green doing a clip today and thought-hard to believe how smooth this is and hard to believe i am on an enfield too.

Hello Sir,

Sir I want to tell you that I also have the same model Halcyon Black Royal Enfield 350 Classic Ribbon Thank you so much for this video
great bike. good to hear you enjoy it
RE really went out of their way to make the spring mounts unnecessarily complex considering they're non-load bearing and strictly cosmetic.
lately i have ridden it with the rear seat mounts not connected to the frame. appears no different in ride side
You didn’t sit on it to show the advantages!
really gotta ride it to know if its any good and theres plenty of clip on that side after this one. mainly on the halcyon grey but they are the same bike just a different colour scheme
That's some weird tappets.
that too
The black colour to exhaust and engine it's more sensitive from chrome editions?
i'd say yes
