    A sprung saddle is just what that bike needs but I think Enfield could have done better with this

      This is an aftermarket seat I believe. Enfield makes a fake springer kit to use with the factory seat and it looks pretty good but I wanted a true springer

      Good idea. However I feel it needs some customization. The front mount looks like it should be lower to position the front of the seat lower. Then you would be able to source some shorter springs out of a “chopper” supplier to keep the seat level. Just a little too high for me. Good video. 😊

    THIS is THE review I was looking for. Now, I was ( and still am ) in love with this seat but gotta say, it seats way too high, and your video really helped me in evaluating it. Don't know If I'll buy this seat 'cause I'm looking for a very low lethered seat, bobber style...kinda like the one you see on the Bolt-on bobber kit from JDCustoms. So, I'll keep searching but again, YOUR video saved my day :) Thans for sharing.

    Great job.
    Reminds me of my Brooks saddle I had installed on my SingleSpeed rigid bike.
    It'll get better aging!! so give it at least 6 months, when broken in it will be heaven.

    Crap design*. Not inspiring at all. Will not buy based on this. Thank you for your honesty. Subscribed. *Stay does not conform to the contour of the shock tower at all, leaving it to tap and bang away on the shock tower. Looks uncomfortable and unstable over long rides. Poor design. Looks half nice. A bit thin. I want to change the seat if i buy one. I wany Halcyon Grey and i want a black seat on it.

      I was leery of it at first as well and it does need a little refining. However the seat is very comfortable one 100 mile plus days and shows no signs of wear and tear yet.

      @mebeasensei 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arkansasoutdoorschannel1867 it just doesn’t have the cushion thickness so I can’t imagine it being comfortable, but over longer distances, perhaps the reverse is true? Harder and thinner better?

    I have the same seat on my 500. Looks like all they changed for the 350 is adding the spring mounts.
    The front seat mount on the 500 is back farther, and lower (the mount is reversed from yours when installed) and sits tighter to the tank

    Hello! I live in Brazil and my RE Classic is the 500 cc model (year 2017). In the case of my bike the seat already has springs. I just bought a seat like this because of the style. My only concern is about the issue of comfort. When I receive the product I will know. Best regards!

  • @johnburgh9564
    @johnburgh9564 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi
    Swap the bottom angle brackets left for right that will move bottom of spring to center more in line with top and I think it doesn’t sit on top of shock tower but slides to the inside of it and rests on the fender stay
    That will also get the springs down in the frame more and won’t look like it’s sitting so high in the back
    Just zoom in on the photos on the listing and you will see what I mean
    Thank you for the video ordered a black one for mine yesterday
    Seat came today
    To get springs straight I added spacer nuts to lengthen the spacer tubes to get proper alignment

    What a great looking bike! I'm curious, how tall are you? I have a tw 200 and the 2 bikes seems comparable in size. I'm going to find a dealer here in St Louis area,I gotta see and sit on one of these. Have you thought of different tires yet? Looking forward to more of these videos

      I am about 5’11” and 205lbs. When the factory tires need replaced I’m thinking of going with a 80/20 or a 70/30 tire. That way I can more confidently ride on local gravel roads.

      Typical first step on REs is to upgrade the spark plug to NGK Iridium and upgrade the various relays. Also, might want to check the Throttle Position Sensor setting as that should have been adjusted and set by the dealer.

    I have the exact same seat I am installing at this moment. I have the exact same questions you encountered so I'm finding you video most helpful. Thanks...your video is helping "backstop" my installation. Royal Enfield spare parts is really a solid aftermarket company, I've purchased a few things from them, very reasonably priced. My complaint....give me some damn installation instructions (even handwritten!..lol). Most of it is intuitive....but it would save me the time and uncertainty which you also encountered. Thanks again...very good quality video.

    Great video, I was messaging ebay and about to rip them for not even including instructions. What i hate is how they advertised the seats on a bike sitting at an angle so you don't see how high the seat rest. I was able to get mine to sit a tad lower just by how tight i fastened the washers to the seat but is meant to sit that high so not to smash the rear fender.

      I was looking for a springer seat for my 2022 Signals Edition in Desert Sand when I found your video about 3 months ago, but decided to test the "Sands of Time" and see if you still felt it's a "Keeper" by the end of summer? I read the reply from the Classic 500 owner who said his front seat bracket was lower than yours and I was thinking the lower bracket would look nice on the New Classic 350... drop the front extension bracket by an inch and likewise the the rear springs an inch shorter (and "softer" springs) so the entire seat was lowered an inch! I have the "fake" (non functioning) springs on my bike with the stock (brown) seat and love the looks but wish the springs were functional! (That'd be the best of both worlds!).... hummmm, wonder if it'd be possible to modify the stock seat by adding the two front studs to the plastic stock seat's base somehow and a short front bracket for attaching? Maybe a good winter project while my bike is hibernating all winter up here in N.E. Ohio?
