  • In this video I review the RG RX-78-2 Gundam and demonstrate how I apply those pesky sticker decals!
    This Real Grade Series aims to take a look back at one of Bandai's best Gunpla lines to see just what makes these kits "Excitement Embodied". These model kits are some of my personal favorites in the world of Gundam and I want to share what I love about these kits with all of you. With 34+ kits in this lineup and more on the way, these kits aren't going anywhere and they have only been getting better. I will also try to show how to fix any issues these kits may present to make these builds the best that they can be!

    12:30 the tip you clicked for. Actually something so simple yet it works. I built 4 RGs and i feel like i could have used this back then.

    the best way for me is to use the tip of a toothpick ( less sharp and more soft compared to the "reverse blade" method) and gently scrubbing the surface of the sticker for perfect adhesion. No risk to sratch anything, expecially on shiny metal stickers.

    one issue I have is eyeballing/ hand steadiness when placing the stickers. Getting them in that exact right spot, I almost never do and have to dry to drag the sticker around, which can be very easy or very difficult it seems. I've even scratched up stickers and models when it was particularly difficult. Any tips on that?

      This is area where water slide decals do have the upper hand. The only tip I can give is to be patient when removing them and invest in a good pair of needle sharp tweezers.

    How you put the sticker no 31 at the part kit no A(16)? Instruction no 05-2

    I'm going to try this. One suggestion, for the "squeegeeing" that you're doing, instead of using the hobby knife and risking scraping and cutting the sticker, maybe use a guitar pick or a hard plastic pan scraper?

      Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve tried using the tweezer in the past, but I’ll try it out on my next build and see if it works the same

      @@whatwillbuilds6068 I haven't put stickers on any of my builds yet, except maybe the reflective ones for like the eyes and lenses.
      I did just finish building the dom prototype from the Origins line. I just used a q-tip though. It's really hard to properly line up those longer stickers >_

    Could you make a rg rx93 nu sticker tutorial please

      Thanks for the ask! Unfortunately I've already built the Nu GUNDAM so I won't be doing a full build. But I do plan on making a review video eventually. However If you follow the guide on the back of the manual and use the technique from the video I'm sure your kit will look amazing! I did it on mine over a year ago and it still looks great!

    I heard that this set gets loose very easily

    • @whatwillbuilds6068
      @whatwillbuilds6068  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most early real grades that have a full frame tend to get loose easily. Of course posing affects this, but these kits, at least the early ones, aren't for everyone.

      This is for the sticker decals that come with most Gundam kits nowadays. Tweezers are helpful but not always necessary. Have been thinking about trying softer on them to see if it makes a difference. Haven't seen a video on it, so I'll try to make one if I try it out and it works.
