@heroinhero69 no, it's "articulate" that's annoying. And it's not a "trigger", it's just condescending as all shit (as if to say, I'm so surprised you can string well-spoken sentences together. I wouldn't expect that from you."). When white folks tell me that (a communication major, media marketing specialist for 20 years, and former copyeditor), I say, "thank you, and you're so clean." And they look at me like I'm nuts. But that's what it feels like. Like, what else would I be?

I wish people like her get to debate legends like Scorsese and Coppola who seem to believe that audiences just love the big franchise films these days. Scorsese doesn't comprehend just how big an impact streaming services have had, he just looks at it from an artistic perspective not a financial. Scarlett talking about how the industry oversexualized her rings so true. She's only a year and an half older than me and I remember thinking she was so much older back then because of how she was presented to us. She went from being a kid to being a sexpot almost overnight. She was a teenager in the late 90s, early 2000s and people tend to forget that. I think it's amazing and beautiful how she managed to avoid being typecast for the rest of her life.

Deep respect for Scarlett. She has been hyper sexualized and it's pretty recent she is getting roles that match up to her acting talent.

She's a really stunning person both in her acting and physicalities. It's a shame most of these women of such skin color don't get scouted very often because for sure they can be the most amazing actresses. Seriously, management of recruiting these folks is kinda shitty right now especially for Hollywood. They're not even majority white getting in but just mediocre and or below par compared to before eras of Hollywood. Same thing for Musicians in their craft. The quality is just sinking.

I’ve seen a lot of the comments say they’re annoyed by Jennifer’s presence in this interview. I honestly just feel like she was nervous and intimidated and because of that started blabbering a lot. Hence why it feels like she’s talking and talking without saying much. I hate when that happens for me, it’s so awkward and you feel so stupid. I feel for her. I think people should be a bit easier on her for this interview. She’s incredibly hard working and is often praised by other serious actors she’s worked with for being one of the most prepared actors on set. I just think this wasn’t an environment she felt comfortable and safe in, and it showed.

I think that is just it. Yes she obviously has a great work ethic and others have stated how she is hard working and comes prepared, but she lacks artistry. I am not trying to bash on her at all. I like her movies. I honestly cannot name any of her music. But it’s just Showbiz with her, she herself said it’s a performance that she has rehearsed over and over and memorized. Her ‘performance’ comes off that way. Something she has rehearsed, memorized and done over and over. I personally like more of an artist.

Or maybe she is just a typical Hollywood bland celebrity and she just loves the sound of her own voice. Both of these are assumptions but whats for sure is she far more plain and dumb than any of the other actresses so I believe my assumption is more likely. 🤷‍♂

@@StilettoCutsQuick. they are ALL performers. JLo is very accomplished but performing on her concerts and on screen is her fav thing to do, but it is not what defines her. She may seem too plain to some because she is very transparent and chill

It's frustrating how very little Awkwafina there is in this. I would have loved to hear her thoughts on acting in two different languages and shooting in China and how being in that environment informed her acting. The facilitator was just not that interested in her, there were no follow up questions to whatever she shared. Such a shame. That said, this was one of the best actress roundtables.

Rarely did the host act each actress a direct question. They each had to contribute to the dialogue. Also, Awk is the newest artist so she does not have as many works or years in the field therefore she may not have either the confidence to interact in the dialogue or experiences to speak from.

Renee commenting on Scarletts career and how she is a wonderul actress which superseeds her being sexualised is such a heartwarming moment.
i'd assume as an actor that any comment like this, ESPECIALLY from a peer and a peer with such experience would be something you'd cherrish and take with you for the rest of your life.

I am no proponent of JLo, but I do feel that she is a target of animosity, regardless of whether it's warranted. Laura Dern opened the floor for JLo to speak about being both a musician and an actor. She truly has a successful career in both arenas. I think she is deserving of her seat at the table, pun intended.

@@merrytunes8697 Yes. Let's ignore how she led off in how she looked at Lupita and shaded her and then was selfish time and time again in the conversation. Scarlett said something really sweet and heartfelt about Laura, and while Laura hadn't even let it absorb and say thank you yet, here comes JLO as though the moment meant nothing. Just...ugh!

Renee makes the conversation worthwhile. She listens to the fellow actresses and when she answers a question she steps to the things that the others have said before with saying ' as you said' and something like that. Also, as she talks she doesn't stops because she doesn't know what to say as the others do. Love her so much and I wish she won't stop entertain us. 🥰🥰
