These actresses can really handle the roundtable without a host.
Lawrence is out of place here. The others are wonderful.
Agreed, their conversations didn't even need the guy to facilitate. So many greats chats between them all
A group, - any group,- needs a moderator. It keeps things regulated. Someone’s got to do it ! - I don’t think any of the women would have wanted that responsibility. I think they were ok with the guy. Happy he was there.
Damn it was like dude wasn't even there
Yeah. Do not like the way the host is cutting everybody off.
Am I the only person in the world that can be easily hypnotized when Cate Blanchett begins to speak or when she does things as normal as breathing?
Me too, She is the queen
I always say how proud I am to share a birthday with her, she is a goddess. Everything she does, says and shows is gold.

22:55 I love when the actresses just start of ignoring galloway's interruptions because they are enjoying their discussion so much lol. the amount of talent at this table is UNREAL
Jessica Jung The BEST💕
That was sick!
That gave me so much pleasure watching that 😍. He didn't get ignored once but twice. I hope more people start doing this
I just can't believe they use "and more actresses" in the title to represent these legends
What is that song playing at 48:20 called? I tried to Shazam it once, and it didn’t get it.
Cate Blanchett constantly seems like the most intelligent person in the room.
+NJCUJan Yeah, she elevates the discussion.
Or you identify with her more.
She is ❤️ QUEEN

Brie took "orange is the new black" too seriously

This comment is so underrated lmao

Cate blanchett and Kate Winslet: My childhood queens. Both r so so beautiful ladies.
53:25 Cate Blanchette, articulating a very deep idea "...And we had a tiny bit of rehear--"
Galloway, cutting her off: "Why ARE there not more female directors? What can be done to change this? 'Cause it hasn't changed in decades."
Kate Winslet, politely: "Well I think what Cate's just saying actually."
Alissa Prevost you know for a fact everyone at that table is thinking that Galloway is an asshole, proven by the fact that Kate jumped in to defend Cate.
Yeah, I noticed that too! I don't know who this host is to be honest, but I kind of yanked my head back thinking, "Um isn't this woman still mid-sentence?" Wow.
like i get trying to steer the conversation but dude you gotta make the move way smoother
Yeh I usually don't mind it too much cos they do have to keep the conversation flowing they don't have hours but he really was cutting off some valuable opinions here all for the sake of just ticking off another box on his question sheet, both Cate and Helen had valuable insight just chopped off.
Alissa Prévost he cut Helen off at 2:45 too!!
I would finish this sentence but I know Stephen Galloway will interru...

The moment Brie stopped using humor as a coping mechanism, the room fell silent and actually listened. This woman said what all those women felt at some point in their career. They always mention how painful rejection is, but never in depth. Not like how Brie talked about that kind of heartbreak. This is the moment you rarely see Brie in because there's always this wall (humor as in her case) to not let people get too close and actually see her. I love this set of women in this roundtable :)
i’ve always loved brie. she does not deserve the hate.

I love when Jennifer is quirky and funny and honest, but I was very impressed with her in this Roundtable. She was confident and serious and insightful.
I completely agreee with u 😭😂❣️
This is clearly one the BEST roundtable discussions THR has made: the honesty, the sincerity, the personal experiences and the depth of knowledge regarding their profession are JUST too mind-blowing to only watch it once.
i've watched it 5 times now in 2 days idk why but this conversation radiates so much comfort
yes! several times to learn English lol 😆
I admire Cate Blanchett so much. She’s intelligent, calm and so knowledgeable about what she does
Aj aa and I also love her voice, it’s so captivating

The two best actresses in my eyes at the same table - Kate and Cate. Delight.

YESSSSS!!!! LEGENDS!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
For me it's Carey and Cate 😁
Yeah for me Hepburn, Streep, Blanchett, Winslet, and Viola Davis are the five greatest actresses of all time
The way he interrupts those women is so rude
@Thisis Fun get a life jeez
He hosted the same way he always does no matter who the guests are but apparantly its more offensive to interrupt a woman then interrupt a man lmfao
He does it every roundtable, not gender exclusive
When he interrupts Helen Mirren at 2:39 when she’s talking about something clearly precious to her made me annoyed. So disrespectful to do that to anyone
Collin and YT are the only ones bringing up gender here😂
Love listening to Kate Winslet stands out, classy, intelligent and wonderful human. Enjoyed some of the others. ❤️
Brie Larson praising Toni Collette is so amazing, Toni is absolutely one of the finest actors

Something tells me Jennifer Lawrence doesn't love Stephen and his questions. Especially when she said "sometimes I can interrupt people and not even realize it"

Brie seems so sweet and kind. She had one bad interview and now people run with that miscommunication.
I can listen to Cate Blanchett speaking for hours. She's the most intelligent, charismatic and charming out of all.
Kate Winslet in The Reader was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen.
She broke my heart with that performance. I bought the DVD, wanted to watch it again, but cannot go back to it yet. She was perfect.
Such a raw and heartbreaking performance. Protect this extraordinary woman at all costs.

Carey is my favourite at that table. I will never forget her performance in Girls & Boys. I couldn't stop thinking about it for days. An absolute masterclass in acting.

I feel like J Law at 44:48 subtley reminded the interviewer not to interrupt people by telling him how she had to apologise to a director for interrupting him.
kate winslet is a legend ... I love her
She's a die hard polanski supporter

@@hadeel2530 She said in a recent interview it was irresponsible of her to work with Woody Allen and Roman Polanski. To be honest I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she was in an insecure space in her career and didn't think she would get better work back then but she called them out for it!
Me too.
I like Kate Winslet's intensity. having her listen to me like that would make me feel like I actually have something important to say. I wonder what goes on in her head.
"THIS GUY IS INTERESTING"~ Kates Narrative. I say she would be a lovely person!!!
This is what makes her a great actress. She listens
2:22 love it how younger actresses listen carefully to the older actress talking and learn
Kate winslet is legend.
Wow, the number of times Galloway cut these people off is ridiculous and incredibly rude. Only 3 minutes in, Hellen Mirren was still talking and you just cut her off and ask Cate Blanchett why she acts. Terrible interviewer. Would you cut people off like this in normal conversation? Stop hiring this guy.
true but its also filmed and on a time crunch, so in a way he has to be directing it, asking whom what questions and sometimes he has cut them off to get to the next thing
@@thevillainwasright2601 Exactly. Every interviewer has to stop the conversation to move on or hear from someone else at some point. This has nothing what's over to do with him being a man. They cut each other off all the time too and start giving their own answers is opinions. Nobody is mad at them.
This actually happens all the time in regular conversation that people don't even realize it. But when it's filmed and dissected over and over, it becomes a misogynistic interview by a man who is trying to control and silence women by cutting them off.
This whole string of comments on the video is hitting a bit too hard in the sensitivity category for me. Sometimes people take things way too seriously or personally. He did a great job. It's different interviewing one person when there's only one point of view. This has seven. So they can all keep one conversation going, but it's still an interview and there are more topics to cover. He asked great questions that opened up great discussions. And as for the people who disliked his comments about women directing: women have made time for acting for decades. Being away from your family to act is no different than time away to direct. It's a choice.
It's not a normal conversation and they only have an hour
No one gave Brie Larson the ‘wear black’ memo
Orange is usually the worst colour for any clothing in my opinion but I thought Brie pulled it off actually, seemed to suit her.

They are actresses, they can act, there is nothing genuine about acting.
@@akanshashankar8589 why are you being so mean and hateful in the comments? I mean, don't you have anything else to do? Or something good to say?
@@almedast I am a practical person and am just stating the facts. They are neither hateful nor praiseful, they are what they are. It's you who is putting a color to it through your interpretation.
These women are just actresses, nothing more. They are as human as you are. Their opinion on things is no better than your and my opinion. Why do people put them on a huge pedestal is what bewilders me.
If you see hatred in my comments then its your problem, not mine. You taking offense on my comment on these actresses does not affect me, it only affects you.
@@akanshashankar8589 Of all the comments for you to lament about putting actors on a pedestal, you pick, "incredibly genuine"? Really? It's such a generically decent quality to have. It's still a compliment, but hardly idolizing.

Seeing Jennifer Lawrence with all these super big and famous actresses actually made me realize that she is one of them. She is iconic. I never realized because I never looked at her like a super famous, super talented, super rich actress but as a normal, down-to-earth girl. She really is big and will be remembered for a very very long time.
Lol, no. Don’t compare Lawrence to actresses of Cate Blanchett and Rampling caliber..

I love all these actresses. My favorite is Kate Winslet.
I LOVE KATE WINSLET
