There was an arcade in my hometown area that had both Quake and SiN Arcade. The control mechanism worked pretty well, honestly. The world hadn't completely accepted mouse+wasd, and I was a native trackballer at the time, which was frankly far better than mouse, if you can find a proper trackball, I don't think anyone makes a decent one anymore. Not sure anyone ever did, considering how many I went thru back in the 90's, but at least they were great controllers, even if they did break like crazy. But modern mice, even with no moving parts, break down pretty damn frequently too
Yeah i used to use a trackball all the time myself i loved th microsoft one with the wheel further in the back. The only issue is i would regularly have to pop the ball out to clean the small tracking wheels on the inside. Eventually it didd and the only one s left werent confortable for me so i went back to a mouse so i could easily see this working great once you got used to it. Thanks for coming by and hanging out btw!
@geekstorian I subbed as I plan on reviewing the back catalog. I'm a old programmer that has over 50 home consoles so I love learning something new. Never heard of Quake Arcade so you had my attention. Keep up the good work!
@@lizardking2407 Awesome man the stuff currently is a lot of stuff that I thought changed genreas or popularized them in big ways or wild arcade games. Further back I have a lot of random oddities from consoles and PC and history moments many of the earliest are stuff I even had issues finding data on so hopefully you find something you didn't know there!
This is so cool, I've never heard of this before, it would be so sick to have a bank of like 8 of these things.
Indeed it would!
I know right lol!
we are the ghosts that built this city..
Thanks for coming by man!
Saw one of these at Pier 39 back in the 90's. That Arcade had all the rare games of the time somehow.
thats awasome! Did it play ok? Also thanks for hanging out btw!
