In the midst of a pandemic, no work, no money, I WISH Not getting froyo was what ruined my weekend. Ya know what ruins my weekends Demi? Not eating. Not sleeping because idk how ima pay my electric bill. Giving myself anxiety every time I have to leave my apartment. Those things ruin my weekends.

As a recovering alcoholic, that's like me walking into a restaurant or grocery store and blaming them for it triggering me. That's my issue and if I was bothered that bad I would just avoid it. I don't get at all what her point was. I think she thought she did something but it backfired. I'm over her which is sad because her story is inspirational but that's just disgusting.
She's not inspiring, she's profiting off her bad decisions and being a perpetual victim. She also has no accountability which is a big part of the whole recovery thing.

I love having those options. I’m obese and am currently trying really hard to get to a healthy weight, so far I’m down 25lbs. I can’t just go out and get ice cream or frozen yogurt because shops around me don’t offer sugar free, I would love the option tho

I understand why Demi felt upset, but the way she publicly called out this small business was uncalled for. As someone with an eating disorder (which I have struggled with since I was 13) I also look at sugar free foods/drinks and automatically find myself gravitating towards those, and if I see those things next to non sugar free items, I can’t convince myself to eat the food/drink with sugar. The way Demi went about this was awful, when she should have handled it privately within herself. I find myself triggered and struggling no matter where I go on a daily basis. But I understand that many people require healthy alternatives for health issues or even just because they prefer the healthier alternatives, so I deal with it internally and remind myself of those things. She probably was relapsing in her eating disorder, and attacked the Froyo shop to make herself feel better about it.

My brother is a type 1 diabetic, he’s 11 and he can’t have that much sugar otherwise his blood spikes up HIGH. I never found these types of shops near me in the bay and I appreciate them doing this for diabetics and others as well. My brother has a hard time eating sweets and I hope one day we can go here!

i have been struggling with disordered eating for years and i used to think stuff like “i wish m&m’s would stop making food” because that was one of the foods i loved bingeing on. of course i never sent them an angry email or say that publicly, i knew that was a ridiculous way of thinking. demi should have just stepped back and realized it’s unrealistic what she was asking [for them to stop selling the cookies i think]

I understand why Demi felt upset, but the way she publicly called out this small business was uncalled for. As someone with an eating disorder (which I have struggled with since I was 13) I also look at sugar free foods/drinks and automatically find myself gravitating towards those, and if I see those things next to non sugar free items, I can’t convince myself to eat the food/drink with sugar. The way Demi went about this was awful, when she should have handled it privately within herself. I find myself triggered and struggling no matter where I go on a daily basis. But I understand that many people require healthy alternatives for health issues or even just because they prefer the healthier alternatives, so I deal with it internally and remind myself of those things. She probably was relapsing in her eating disorder, and attacked the Froyo shop to make herself feel better about it.
It’s not diet culture sugar free stuff was made for people with diabetes or other chronic illnesses that’s really ableist to say that u want them to get rid of sugar free stuff cuz u don’t like it wut about the people with illnesses that require low sugar intakes like damn

My brother is a type 1 diabetic, he’s 11 and he can’t have that much sugar otherwise his blood spikes up HIGH. I never found these types of shops near me in the bay and I appreciate them doing this for diabetics and others as well. My brother has a hard time eating sweets and I hope one day we can go here!
