After the Omi HQ fight with Ichiban i was like "Alright this was a great game" then Shishido walks up and this bitch becomes a 9/10 then that last cutscene made it push closer to 10/10
I think so too, I'm an akiyama simp so I really hope we see something with him, or maybe Tanimura & Shinada, so much potential I just hope they capitalize on it
I came to this game expecting an appetizer, and ended up getting a whole-ass meal. (Also, that final boss has officially dethroned Aizawa as my favorite in the franchise.)
@Garland846 yeah the fight was fun but a big part of yakuza final bosses are the character’s build up like with ryuji and nishki It’s not like aizawa has bad build up, he doesn’t have a build up at all which is unfortunate
My personal GOTY this year, while it is a "side" game, it quickly positions itself among the top tier RGG games. I ended up spending 100 hours on it just because it was so fun to play and the story is incredible
I just got the game a couple of days ago and its easily one of the best games in the franchise for me. Rgg's mastered the Dragon Engine at this point and his shows. I think this game has the best and most refined combat out of the dragon engine games next to Lost Judgement.
I think your review is my favourite review out there. I have literally just finished the game and oh my god, it did not disappoint! I loved it and i was crying alongside Kiryu 😂 Thank you for your wonderful video!
I definitely appreciate that they keep this dope franchise going. How refreshing compared to the rest of other games in general. And bro, seeing Kiryu in Sotenbori made us all weak inside. That's just how it is. Never in my life would I also think I'd miss Kamurocho after spending a couple of months in other games. And by the by the way, any video reaction to Ishin coming up?
Idk about masterpiece but this game was way better than i expected (really hard to follow up yakuza 7 imo that game was easily top 3 rgg games at least.) I love the Akame character and hope she somehow returns in future games (and her version of like a butterfly was the best ever imo)
I don't know about game of the year, but it's up there for me, too many amazing games came out this year for a Yakuza spin off to take the cake haha, but it is scarily close
We need a parody Majima game where he ends up in a fantasy version of RGG universe and kills all the iconic characters for shits and giggles, all for it to be a dream. 😂
Absolutely love this game. Just finished it around about 20 hours with most of the side content but a decent amount to do yet (hoping they add a true NG+ like the other Yakuza games). If they can’t make a Judgment 3 because of Yagami’s actor…there is about a 3 year time jump between the end of this game and Infinite Wealth (at least Hawaii)….so maybe another Gaiden game?
Honestly I loved the story! I just thought that they could’ve made it better with some spying, infiltration and disguises, given that Kiryu was, you know, an agent and all. That was a missed opportunity for me.
That's fair to say, but I think that the game made it clear that the Daidoji didn't want to use Kiryu willy-nilly If the game were longer I definitely think that we would've got some of the Judgment detective abilities rehashed
Its a good LaD game but it might be a stretch to say it reached masterpiece level. With how high Lost Judgment set the bar if feels like it lacks a few things but thats because it was made in a small time frame. Had the game had more time then i do feel it would reach up there very easily
This was a great review. I remember when you did that amazing Yakuza review from which Yakuza games you liked worst to best. I thought that video was one of my favorites I have seen on a Yakuza video. 'Yakuza 4' was also one of my favorite games as well. It doesn't matter if you do not post a lot, quality is more important to me. I thought this video was insightful and engaging. I especially thought it was interesting when you said that Yagami's actor was very strict, which is a bummer because Yagami was one of my favorite characters to play as, with how astute, intelligent and how much swagger he had. He is also one of the more scientific fighters in a entire Yakuza games, and has Kiryu beat when it comes to athletic ability, acrobatics and been a finesse and technical fighter. Thank you for this. I think you must be good at the combat based on what I have seen of this video and thought you made the fights look pretty stylish. I thought it was also interesting when you said that Kiryu's new style is like a more advanced 'rush' style. I think I agree with that. I enjoyed this game very much. I think it could have been AMAZING if it was a little longer and was not as rushed in some parts(Imo). I still thought this game was very good; I enjoyed the story, combat, fan service, hostesses, minigames, bonding with the fighters and teaming with them, been able to play as any fighter and seeing their stats and different skill level, abilities, and techniques. I also enjoyed the pocket circuit, too and thought it was different. Shitani was a great villian in Yakuza 0. I am excited for 'Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth' and will take my time with it. I am like you, I just enjoy any Yakuza game if it is good. I hope we see more videos from you in the future. If not, then I hope you have a great week and rest of the year.
Dude this is the most thoughtful and kindest comment I've ever gotten on my channel, thank you so much and I'm really glad you're enjoying my content I will be making more videos about the Yakuza franchise and I hope you look forward to them ♥
@@azizvbh You're very welcome, you deserve it. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond. I do look forward to it. Feel free to post anytime you like no matter how early or late it is from now, I will most likely see it and comment on it.
I actually watched only cutscene where Ichiban defends Watase. It was interestung to see Joryu perspective. Though, I think Joryu's styles are Yagami ++ like.
For sure isn't the best game ever made, but I really enjoyed it, it felt sort of like a swan song for the classic Kiryu games since I doubt we'll get more.
@@GilgaMax305 when i say that it isn't the best game ever made i mean that literally, it's still a fantastic game all things considered and i would call it a masterpiece as it is the end of the solo kiryu games
This game was very good. But the juggling and even some things in the style movesets didn't feel polished. You could even say it was polished, but it's like they didn't polish it the right way lol. This game definitely gives us a template for a masterpiece and has the potential to be one, but I'm sad to say I don't feel like it will ever be a 10/10 without moveset mods. I am planning on modding this game one day, I'll even create my own levels if I can. I'm just glad I'm on pc so I can even get mods lol.
That's very fair to say, personally I'm extremely biased and I think I made that much pretty clear in the video so I was just happy with anything, plus I thought that the slow burn into chapter 3 worked, I liked that they expanded on Kiryu's situation and the Daidoji.
That's fair to say, I think that this game for sure relies on you having played at least the Kiryu games from 0-6 and it relies on that attachment that you have with Kiryu, it's hard to stay unbiased when talking about the return of one of, if not my all time favorite video game character after 7 years, so I just decided to stay biased and this is just how I feel haha. But I get people who thought the story might have started off a bit slow, or if they just didn't play the rest of the games and didn't understand the weight of the story, those opinions are equally as valid as mine
Well, if you must know " that agency" is now under a lot of scruntiny because of some sexual assualt. So their direction is completely change. Could be for the worse or for the better though. I hate the PocketCir bit, so time consuming and not really satisfying. Looking forward to 8.
I really don't get it myself, I kinda get it when they're using lesser known actors that will end up becoming known for their roles in Yakuza, but Yagami's actor is like one of the biggest actors in Japan and with that comes a very strict agency and such so it just limits what can be done with his likeness

Agreed.
Man that cut scene hit me like a ton of bricks.
The acting in the last scene is some of the best ive ever seen in a game. Was not expecting this series to impress me so much when i got into it

Kazama or the origin of Tojo going all the way till the early 90s or just around before kiryu release from prison would be nice
This game surprised me in the best way possible

How about a game on kiryu master when he was assassinating other yakuza clans before kiryu was brought into the yakuza world
love Kson in caberate but seeing her with a 3D model would have been way better.
I just a Majima/Saejima spin off.. The ending of this game was 10/10.

Akame is the most boring character ever seen in a Yakuza game. I hate doing anything for her and akame points are bs
