I like Ichiban quite a bit so I don't mind him taking over the series and Tak was a cool MC in his two games but there's only one Kiryu. I've spent so many hours with that big softie. Good to see him back in his own game even if it's a spin off.
My Game of the Year. As much as I like Yagami and Ichiban, it’s great to be Kiryu again. And while there are fewer sidestories in this game, it does help with the overall pacing.
I'm going to wait for it to go on sale due to how short it is. I don't feel like buying another short game after getting and beating spiderman 2 in 2 days

Then it should *likewise* be much smaller in price than the regular entry. Seems like $9.99 USD would be a fair price, maybe $14.99 USD, max. The current price, in combination with the short length, is a scam.
Dont forget PC, where it runs fantastically! Regarding the title, 'like a dragon' just more confidently reflects the series tone, better than the awkward 'yakuza', which sounds like a edgy 2000's western exploitation title.
I still really dislike that they didn't actually kill Kiryu off personally. Still gonna buy this, there has yet to be a Yakuza game release that I didn't enjoy, but still - I'd have a _lot_ more respect for RGG had they had the guts to actually stick with their original idea.
@@SpiritzBeyond oh thank God. Cause all the Dragon Engine games before this has terrible subtitles. Tried so hard to be immersive that they forgot that they were suppose to be readable. Still don't know why they shrunk them
People already mentioned months ago that the game would have as much content as the Kaito Files, but while that was a $30 DLC, this is a $50 standalone release, and considering this game's original title is "Like a Dragon 7 - Sidestory", that is what it should've been. I don't know, I'm feeling since the explosion of the series in the west Sega is milking the franchise like there is no tomorrow, we are getting THREE standalone games in the span of less than a year, that's INSANE, and we are starting to see the drop in quality, first with Ishiin!, and now with Gaiden...hoping most time and money went to Infinite Wealth, because I'm starting to get worried about the future of the franchise, we know what happens when Sega gets greedy.

nah to me this is Yakuza 7. Like a dragon is spin off (not even the same style) and Judgements are in distant future. Like a sister series.

can you move to yokohama in like a dragon gaiden?
Guess who’s back, back again. Guess who’s back, tell your friends.
First “Yakuza” I’ve ever played and it was a great introduction to the series
I hope they will not kill Kiryu in Yakuza 8. (loving this dude)

bruh
For me its 7/10 compare with Yakuza 0 and Yakuza 7 (the best and the second) of the series. But it 8/10 and worth to play it.
There isn't really a Yakuza 7 though. They stopped at 6 and then rebranded the franchise into some new & different crap.

Every entry with Kiryu is necessary to play. Though for mechanics, id skipped 3-5.
