well imo in games like valorant your always shootinng each other from far away and seeing the persons head first rather than having hz is better i think because 4k looks clearer and better

this looks great. ideally i want an 18-21 inch screen (the larger the better) in 4k, with the option to lower the resolution to raise frame rates for gaming. This way i can watch uhd content but also be able to game competitively.
The Gen5 slot in the GT77 is pretty much useless at this juncture, and I say that from personal experience. There's just no way to keep the drive cool and it will either throttle (Crucial T700) and/or just flat out crash Windows (Inland-branded Phison E26 reference design).
Lucky I miss my GT75 when for a GP76 this time.. Will probably get a GE77 in around a year or 2 maybe a GT77 but will be hard to get a good deal on one..
I really really like it but man $6k for a laptop is kinda overkill.... I could buy a GE78 then buy the same screen the GT77HX uses stick that into the GE and still have around $2k left over....

The MSI doubled the score of my 2 yr old 16GB RAM laptop, but once I upgraded my RAM to 40GB it was about 1.5x faster. Love my MSI laptops, been using them for over a decade. Using a GT76 atm... few year old... wonder if it's worth an upgrade yet .. use it primarily for VR and CAD
I've got two questions. Are the hinges better constructed or will they break after a year of use? If you utilise the pcie 5 m.2 port will that cut the gpu from 16 lanes down to 8 lanes?
You can easily build a much lower end desktop that will push this and have way better thermals. These labtops get so insanely hot with these high end specs too, most are lucky to get 5-7 years before being complete trash.
@@frankytanky5076 Expensive laptops also lose a lot of value if you sell them as used. I got a 3300 dollar GTX 1080 laptop for 700 dollars a few years ago and back then it was just a few years old.
Even though this laptop could be considered a beast, a desktop is a much better choice that offers you much better performance, upgradability and customization and hence more future proofing and longevity over laptops for the same or even less price if you don't want gaming on the move. When it comes to gaming, I'd go with desktops whatsoever because they are always way more cost efficient than laptops along with other advantages I mentioned before.

Yes, very nice. Except... there is no upgrade path for the GPU on a laptop these days. My first gaming laptop in 2017 was a 7700HQ but had full TB3, therefore, I could upgrade the onboard GTX1060 with an egpu RTX2060, to double the graphics performance, and then +50% again putting a 3060 Ti in the same enclosure. But beyond that, TB3/4 ran out of steam and I've had to build a desktop to provide future upgradability. Question: does the lower 128-bit memory bus of the 4060 Ti class allow the TB3/4 to be useable for Egpu's again?
Everyone needs a computer for school. Explain to them you save money buy getting a gaming computer instead of getting a computer and a console. Or you can ask for a cheap gaming laptop for school and don't mention the fact that it can game. And if you have a desktop pc already you can add a graphics card to it and make it a gaming computer.

They don't make OLED screens for laptops at that size yet... Also OLED screens tend to have less brightness so there are some trade offs...even if it was possible...

I doubt it could run Runescape 3 in 4k all ultra even at 23fps and that's 1fps less than a human eye can see. Is it the most powerful laptop? Possibly. Is any laptop powerful enough for Runescape 3 in 4k all ultra? Not a chance.
i typically limit fps to 30-60 no need to abuse pc going above 60 fps i use pc for other things and gaming tends to kill pc quick when games like flight sim 2020 are made for imaginary graphics cards lol. question how they develope a game no graphic card could run at the time

I want to be able to make my own fiber cables for comms or video stuff. A.I. experimentation directly from the laptop lol. You know what.....Why dont they just remake the GT80. Upgrade the motherboard for PCIe5 and 4, throw a 40x Series GPU. Easy day!

My last GT was 72 and it was an absolute beast, the plastic could be improved though and they did.
I had the same GT 72 and it's still a beast, though rather than gaming it runs an embroidery machine.
Still have my GT72s the ssd crashed and was re[laced and the 980m nvidia card was replaced with the laptop till this day, still preforms well.
I had gr72vr 6rd back in the days - a true machine. And the dynaudio speakers were nice)

Arrow keys are average. The numpad on the right is cramped to make room for normal size keys on the rest of the laptop.
