  • It's about time that I finally do a video of my local hobby shop that I constantly talk about. This is one the best train store's in the GTA area. With plenty of stock and great prices, George's Trains is an awesome 1 stop shop for all your railroading needs. There will be a 60th anniversary party on June 4th 2022. The store opens at 9 am and will host a bbq between 11AM to 2:30PM. Go check out the website for more info.

    Looks like an awesome hobby shop. Do they have operatingg layouts in the store? So cool you can see the CN mainline going by there!

    Excellent. Great Store. They have closed or downgraded almost every train place in this state, including Mizel Trains and Caboose Hobbies. It is nice to see a well stocked shop again. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. 💙 T.E.N.

    This was the 'genesis' of model train stores when it was located on Mt. Pleasant Rd. in Toronto in the 60s and 70s. Back-in-the-day the merchandise was affordable and catered to late-boomer kids who had their father's help in putting together the train layouts. George's Trains was the first model train store in Toronto to feature the N-Gauge product in all its initial useless glory. The store had a plethora of Triang merchandise which was featured in huge displays at the Simpsons and Eatons stores at Christmas on Yonge St. before the Eaton Centre was built. George's Trains was hallowed-ground, and I still have a Lionel switcher locomotive my Dad purchased there in 1970.

      Agreed. Back when I was a young boy in the early 2012's, I have memories of my parents heading down there to get this vintage ho scale TTC pcc streetcar. Still runs like a charm.

    I might give the store another chance though

    • @linndoria
      @linndoria 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think George's prices are comparable to Credit Valley Railway or the MSRP. Yeah, I like Otter Valley's pricing too and It reminded me Hutch's Trains/Trains on Brant in Burlington, ON before they closed shop. One thing about George's and CVRCo. is they carry a lot of stuff and probably can get what you need from their many suppliers.
