I think so too! Lionel has done some incredible things over these past 10 years and it's amazing they are about to celebrate the 125th! I cannot wait to see what Lionel comes out with next! Another hope is Lionel goes west! Happy Railroading 🚂!!
@@will2926 anything Lionel has made in the past decade is absolute made in China garbage... Post war (1945-1969) is when their trains were top notch, made in USA. I appreciate your video, so don't get me wrong, I just don't agree that Lionel has gotten better over the years... (An awesome anniversary set 75 yrs, hahaha) Trash
While I'm not a fan of Lionel, simply because I don't do O-scale, having a whole store like this is super cool.

I wish I can tell Ralph macchio and all of the cobra Kai cast and cobra Kai kid about the Lionel trains store that I should go with and show them the all of the trains and the Thomas and friends stuff and the Disney trains and the toy story train that came out in toy story 3 and the Mickey Mouse train and the polar express and the Harry Potter hogwarts express

I flew out to the Lionel Store last December. I was just as amazed as you were. It's like heaven for a Lionel Train lover. Prices are pretty good as well.
It was a magical experience! Seeing the store for the first time I was in shock! I really felt like I was transported back into the postwar era where these types of stores were common! The prices were outstanding and the staff was very professional and a joy to work with!

The mall is very close to Charlotte Motor Speedway, probably why there's so much racing stuff in the store.
One thing I didn't know is Lionel is the official Die Cast of Nascar!

My mouth is watering right now! That store is a mecca for orange and blue blooded O-gaugers. I wish they would re-make the Lionel bar stool. The ones from the 1990s are selling for $300 each - if you can find them.

I was just there 3 days ago. I live 30 mins away and trek up there for lunch and to visit Lionel and BassPro. Got rid of all my HO several years ago to switch to O-scale and don’t regret it a bit. Great store and products! Thanks for the video!

I am drawn to the actual store merchandizing materials. Would love to have the Lionel layout table with bridge-motif arches. Also love the big Lionel wording in the front of the store windows.
They have great layouts at the store! My first layout I went to Home Depot and had custom paint colors made of the Lionel Colors (Blue, Tan, & Orange). That is a great way to put some color to the layout! Happy railroading 🦁🚂!

I was there 1st of Oct. grabbed a Lion chief ATSF FT loco for $75 a deal!! The store is about 30% die cast race cars too.
Yeah the Retail Store is great! The staff there are awesome to work with too! After going to the Roval 400, I'm starting to get interested in NASCAR. Happy Railroading 🚂!

I'm happy to live near a long running train/hobby shop called Nicholas Smith Trains. I haven't had a model train set since I was in my teens but now that I'm in my mid-30s, I'd love to get back into it at some point.

I am new to the train seen. Used to have Ho 4×8 set table when i was a kid. I had no idea how much this stuff cost its nuts.
That's awesome you had a 4x8 layout! Build another one! HO scale has had so many upgrades and now it's super detailed! O gauge is definitely more expensive than HO. However, the products that Lionel are the best! Happy Railroading!!
Lionel needs a new American Flyer catalog dedicated to A.C. Gilbert. A lot of history to be learned to educate the later generations about Gilbert as well as Lione
I used to see s scale in some of the lionel catalogs.When I was a kid even thou I didn't know of american flyer at the time. And even in Christmas JC PENNY catalogs.
I agree with you here! Lionel needs to go back to having a devoted American Flyer catalog with new tooling and products. There is a great market for S Scale and our hobby is continuing to grow. Maybe in the future Lionel will bring out new products!

When Lionel releases N scale products, that's when I'll be interested.
I'm not sure that Lionel will release N scale items in the future. That would be really interesting though. Can you imagine a vision line N scale Big Boy!?!

With how successful this store is I'm sure Lionel will start opening up more and more. This upcoming store in Nashville is going to be great opportunity for Lionel and TN is a great area for our hobby!

I am more of an HO guy myself, but I would so make a trip across the country for the experience.
I have seen Lionel make some great HO sets recently! The fact that there is a train store in modern America in a mall is incredible! I truly felt like I got transported back to the postwar era! :)
What a cool store and video! I'm up in Michigan and toured the Lionel when they were in Chesterfield Michigan. I hated it when they closed and moved! When there I saw the 1999 Corvette GP-7 train set on display. A few years later I found a NOS set and was able to buy it. Nothing like seeing stuff in person over a catalog.
Man, I have such good memories of touring that place as a Cub Scout...really wish they were still up here.

Hello I'm a new follower on your page and I just wanted to say I love the video's you do of Lionel trains. I'm hoping they put one here in the Chattanooga mall so that I can add to my 2 sets. I have the Polar Express and the Harry Potter G scale sets and I've been looking for the Christmas box car that go's with the Polar Express train set but every one is sold out. If you find one can you let me know.
Randy & Jen, thank you so much for the support!! So they just opened a Lionel Store at the Opry Hills Mall in Nashville! Not too far away!! As for the G Scale Boxcar, I did do some research and it looks like that item (7-11541) was a special released 10th anniversary Boxcar so it might be hard to find. However, thats the thrill of the hunt!! BOLO for next year, its the 20th Anniversary of the Polar Express!!! Happy Railroading 🚂!!

I took my LCCA members to the store Saturday morning then his lift for his power chair broke. So he could not go to the train show that day.

Great videos guys. Just curious, noticed you pointed out G, S and will obviously O gauge but did they have HO gauge? Were the stools for sale?
Yes, Lionel HO gauge should be in that huge store because the catalogs have had HO for years now.
I will confirm but I do know Lionel makes HO products. I did talk to the staff and with it being a retail store they do move around a lot of products.

I completely understand and can relate to this. I move quite often and finding a great train store can be very difficult. With Lionel opening a store in Nashville this is a great opportunity to show Lionel we need more store like this one. If you are even in the area I recommend stopping by!

I'm originally from the Southwest and I remember Albuquerque use to have 3-4 model train stores. Now I think there is only one left. The Southwest needs great stores. We have the UP, SP, ATSF and so many great RR's there!

Currently Lionel does distribute products made here in the USA. As for if they are the same as postwar locomotives its user preference. I'm a huge postwar collector/operator. While they are not the same as they used to be they are better in many ways! Happy Railroading 🚂 🦁!
It's mostly made in China along with MTH and Atlas products.
