  • Cat, cats, cats and even more cats.
    In the street, on top of the car, and in my yard, where they like to kill birds, catch fish and frogs from the pond, and leave their marks, solid and liquid, where they please.
    In order to discourage these ferocious feline felons, I came up with this harmless contraption, that sprays a minute amount of water on the intruders.
    It is made with some left-overs from other projects and consists mainly of three components and some hoses and copper tube:
    * a PIR motion detector
    * a power supply (4 x AA NiMh)
    * a 6 Volt water pump
    When the cat triggers the PIR, the pump sprays water through a bicycle valve that acts as a nozzle.
    The black stuff is what keeps everything tight and waterproof, it's "magical" silicone tape, that I reviewed in an earlier clip:

    A bucket of H2O feeds the pump. That's it.
    And way more effective than those cheap ultrasonic repellents in this clip:

    UPDATE: after a leaking hose destroyed some electronic components, I had to rebuild the Cat Wash. I used an ultrasonic repellent that I built, and added a 12 V car-type relay and a 8 Ah USB power bank to drive the pump. I also improved the nozzle, by soldering it shut and then drill a 1mm hole. The result can be seen here: • Improved #Cat Repellen...
