The fact that it took over a decade for Steph and Lebron to play together is what makes this Olympics so special. I feel like we just witnessed history.
Why would we want to watch them play together? Lebron diminishes everyone around him by being bagless and unable to play within a system; Curry was relegated to a role player at first and only got the chance to show what he's capable of in the last two games, when the going got tough and the fake ones shrunk.
@sakdavid I thought they played great together. Lebron averaged 8.5 assists over the Olympics. When you have 5 of the greatest players in the leauge on the floor at all times, not everyone can have 20 points everygame. But I feel like most everyone had big moments and played key rules. Just curious, Who would you say shrunk in the big moments?

We go to the Next greats- Ant, Brown, Ja, Zion, Tatum, Tyrese a few Bigs and whoever else emerges over the next four years. There's a lot of basketball to be played in four years and frankly this team was light on the defense and shooting end of things. Thank God for KD and Curry.
Sorry to say this but none of these guys have all time great potential, which is the kind of talent you need to win the Olympics. I refuse to diss our guys, period.
Bout time somebody is saying it…. The world is just getting better after Dream Team!!! The WORLD wanted to be the next MJ Magic or Round Mound of Rebound ETC….
Nba stars are usually more focused on winning an nba title than they do in participating in the olympics. It is very difficult to keep your body healthy throughout the regular season and off season, and you add the olympics on top of that? Many of these foreign players dont play in a league in the same caliber as the nba so they can spend plenty of time and energy to play in the olympics or fiba.
I’m worried about the future of our Olympic squad. The WORLD just keeps getting better and the guys from the USA have gotten way too comfortable with “being the best”.
usa prob gonna use nationalized players for half of the rotation in the future :DD , this was literrally one last ride and it wasnt as easy as everyone expected
The world has caught up but not really at the same time. The top players of other countries are on par with the top players of America. But as far as volume of star caliper players goes it goes to USA by a landslide
Our young U18 team completely destroyed every other country by like 60 points each time with players like the Boozer brothers and Cooper Flagg. We’re in good hands. Not to mention other starts like Morant, Zion, Ingram, Fox, Bridges, Maxey, Banchero, Garland, Jarrett Allan, and many other young stars that didn’t play this time around. Brunson could be a vet presence, and we’ll be rolling.
I feel like these olynpics already proved that europe might have passed N-A. Its close for sure, but 2-4 were european teams and many best euro players werent even playing
They struggled thru the entire Olympics and in the nba they were as boating to watch as turtles crawling to the sea. If ja morant doesn't come back to revenge his discretion um not even bothering
Scottie, Chet, Cooper, Paulo, future is in good hands if they allow the team to go young and surround with somr defenders that can shoot. Are issue will be trying to hold on to old heads thinking they will get their swan song the same way LeBron steph ans KD just did
I wonder what the future of Olympic basketball will look like, maybe other countries will start to invest more time, energy, & money into basketball 🏀 this will help drive competition
Lebron to run it back again in the 2027 FIBA World Cup age 42, win gold to complete his international accolade (he doesn't have a FIBA gold) and retire
1. this tournament confirmed what we knew .... there's no competition with the generation of 80s-90s 2. USA are probably going to lose even if they will put their best athletes
Idk where they go, the fact that LeBron did indeed have to do a lot of heavy lifting for someone his age means that the other players just aren’t there. Yes most of team USA did well, but they looked towards the vets really to do most of the heavy lifting, curry, KD and LeBron. It doesn’t seem like anyone American can have that type of role yet. There’s many talented players, but if you think that they should now think that Ja, Zion and some other players will be able to perform like that is crazy. There’s levels to the game, there’s barely any comparable players to LeBron, curry and KD, even in 4 years. I don’t see Tatum being able to do what LeBron is doing, I don’t see ant actually doing much even though physically it seems like he’s doing really well.
The 2028 Olympics for usa men's basketball will be tested cause right now those who have been on the top spots besides lebron, steph and KD, are all europeans( luka, jokic, giannis,) they also have young wemby. The next four years who knows those trio legends might have already retired
Gold is 100% deserved. But let's also not forget geography was also a big factor and favorable to the US. If the situation was reversed, it would be the equivalent of EU or entire Europe going against the best players of multiple individual US states. Does not apply to Canada and Australia though. Not taking away anything from US, but this argument makes sense if you think about it.
It’s because we pick the wrong players. People don’t understand we choose the best players but not necessarily the best team. NBA rules are different and favor offense. FIBA is more defensive so you need a lot more role players. We have too many offensive stars but not that many role players. These other teams have guys who don’t care to take that role. Like you have to have guys who fight for rebounds or a defensive player who puts all his energy on defense to lock down the best player, or a dude unselfish and sets a ton of screens and fights for loose balls. Yes you need offensive players but it does us no good putting in like 4 offensive stars and having 1 role player like holiday in. If we actually built the best team we get college basketball coaches because they are better at coaching team basketball because college basketball resembles FIBA rules the best so they actually have to run plays and not rely on iso ball all the time like in the nba where it favors offense. If we were smart we take more role players or stars willing to take a role so we just don’t have a bunch of offensive talent and rely on that to carry us because the world is catching up
2 top 5 players all time on the same team + one of the most UNSTOPPABLE players ever and they had close calls The rest of the world is no joke and i have a feeling we'll feel it when the trio retired
To say that this 2024 US Olympic basketball team is the best in history is an abomination. 2008, 2012, 2014(FIBA), AND 2016 were all better team than this
Gotta give it to KD. Despite all the injuries and the criticisms he had, he never backed out of playing for the country. McCollum is funny about the reason he withdrew. Maybe he considered himself a weak player. This is the reason why he never won anything or be at least an all-star in his professional career and now, he is just a role player. He never took the next step. No one in current young generation of American players have taken the torch from LeBron, Steph, or KD. Maybe Ant-Man have potential, but he needs to win something to be considered. No one else have the command and leadership that LeBron resonates. So if they send their team in 2028, who will be the guy who will lead them? We will see in the next 3 years who will rise up after the 3 OGs retire. As of now, it's Jokic who's the best out there and have been giving them problems. Giannis, his Greek team is not really that great. Luka, well his Slovenian team also is not that great. But he might win in the NBA someday. Wemby is on his way and will only improve going forward barring ang injuries. Damn, the most recognizable upcoming stars are non-American. Kyrie, Dame, AD are of the same age as Curry or older by 2028. The American roster is really under-sized. The top American centers now are Embiid, Bam, Turner, Claxton, Allen, Holmgren. Embiid is questionable in 2028. So that leaves the other 5, but between them only Bam and Jarett Allen were the only all-stars. AD thinks he might come back again, but that depends on his legs and health by that time. At the PF, there's Banchero, Zion, Aaron Gordon, JJJ, Keegan Murray. At the SF, Tatum is nice, but he's not in the same stratosphere as the 3 OGs. He's on his way though. He just needs to be more assertive and impose his will. Scottie Barnes and...oh, most wing players are already too old or retired by that time. lol KD still considers coming back and he'll be 39 by that time. At the SG, Ant-Man, DBook, Jaylen Brown, Donovan Mitchell At the PG, Brunson, Fox, Maxey, Tyrese, Morant, Dejounte, Trae, Cade
This crazy roster needed crazy refereeing decisions to prevent themselves coming home with a bronze when the talent level slowly declines as the USA doesn’t dominate talent production as much I don’t think USA will be able to win off of pure talent as they have been and will acctually need some real coaching and basketball set plays
Next Olympics Team USA PG: Ja Morant Backup Tyrese Maxey Backup Tyrese Haliburton SG: Anthony Edwards Backup Devin Booker SF: Jayson Tatum Backup Jaylen Brown PF: Zion Williamson Backup Paolo Banchero Backup Jaren Jackson C: Bam Adebayo Backup Karl Towns This is not a terrible lineup... That's without Jalen Brunson or Lamelo Ball (too many Point guards makes this difficult) or even a Myles Turner... Honestly, probably would start Booker due to vet leadership, but I think ANT will be the alpha of this team. It seems like Curry/KD/Bron were handing the keys of the future to ANT. Obviously Anthony Davis, Joel Embiid, KD, Curry, Lebron could take any of these spots if they wanted, but they KD/Curry will be 40 and Embiid/Davis already injury prone and that problem won't likely improve into their mid-30's. Lebron will be in his mid-40's so likely no. There also could be room for a future stars like Cooper Flagg, Chet Holmgren, Cade Cunningham, Brandon Miller.
This is not a good lineup. If a team of Steph, Lebron and KD 3 all time great can barely beat a france team against Wemby who just finished his rookie season i dont know how are they going to compete against him in 4 years. None of those players you mentioned will be on KD, Lebron and Steph level as players and yes that includes Ant. People are making Ant to be something that he is not. In this very important game Ant should of shown what he can do but the OG's have to do it for him who legacy is already set in. This game should of been more important to Ant as a player than KD, Lebron and Steph but clearly it was not.
@Fawnswine Steph, KD, and Lebron at their age...aren't as good as some of these players... Their defense is not good. Steph was phenomenal shooting in final two matches, but where was he before that? Lebron was getting shredded on defense as France was literally attacking him and Curry. Kerr was just putting them in because of nostalgia. ANT was clearly playing better than them. On a minute by minute basis, ANT was far superior to these older guys. Honestly, if it was old vs. young Team USA, I'd take young. GSW, LA Lakers, Phoenix Suns didn't make it out 1st round and there's 4/5 starters... Kerr started 2 Suns players... if they're so great, how come ANT and the Wolves swept them?
If USA will not be sending its best of the best in every Olympic or FiBa ..they aint getting gold...No more lebron the guy who recruits player nxt.. idk if other superstars would play for team usa coz most of them surely will pass😢😢

Was Lebron in the 2024 Olympics
We do what we did after '04 make everyone commit to a 3+ year contract to play for Team USA.
Yeah, these names are not instilling me with confidence.
During all start weekends, I do not want to see East vs West, but I'd rather watch a competitive USA vs World all star game.
If NBA players are not available I think USA should reach out to american players playing internationally.
I feel like these olynpics already proved that europe might have passed N-A. Its close for sure, but 2-4 were european teams and many best euro players werent even playing
sorry, but the best NBA All-Star Game was back in 2001 when Allen Iverson led a furious EC comeback on the WC and he won MVP!
'92 Dream Team is absolutely hands down untouchable. 44 point margin of Victory 8-0 and won the gold by 34 points. Blew out every team they played.
I ligit thought that food sponsor was taco bell
I need it sooooooon
@@mj2kallday yeah bro, it's about time
They struggled thru the entire Olympics and in the nba they were as boating to watch as turtles crawling to the sea.
If ja morant doesn't come back to revenge his discretion um not even bothering
Longest ad ever 😂😂
The first and the last time you will see lebron and steph play together in the US team end of an era
Scottie, Chet, Cooper, Paulo, future is in good hands if they allow the team to go young and surround with somr defenders that can shoot. Are issue will be trying to hold on to old heads thinking they will get their swan song the same way LeBron steph ans KD just did
Bring back the college kids!
I wonder what the future of Olympic basketball will look like, maybe other countries will start to invest more time, energy, & money into basketball 🏀 this will help drive competition
Basketball is now evolved.
Lebron to run it back again in the 2027 FIBA World Cup age 42, win gold to complete his international accolade (he doesn't have a FIBA gold) and retire
1. this tournament confirmed what we knew .... there's no competition with the generation of 80s-90s
2. USA are probably going to lose even if they will put their best athletes
'92 Dream Team beat every team by a margin of 44 points, 8-0. No USA team will ever touch the 92 Dream Team.
2024
Kyrie, Fox,
Curry, Edwards, George
Durant, Leonard
James, Adebayo
Davis, J.Allen
They did Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum so dirty.. I'd be surprised if they want to play for team USA again in the next 4 years
Idk where they go, the fact that LeBron did indeed have to do a lot of heavy lifting for someone his age means that the other players just aren’t there.
The Last Dance of the Legends finally did it, lets be honest Curry carried the Team to Gold.
I mean... Next Olympics are in usa. If they lose at home it will be hilarious. They probably wont. But still.
Ngl steve kerr was selling by not playing hella players on the bench
Get Cooper Flag for next Olympics and USA good
the olympics are here in the states next time. No way we don’t win
Lets see the NBA for next 3 to 4 years
Get rid of the defensive 3-seconds penalty and the game will be exciting again!
If we were smart we take more role players or stars willing to take a role so we just don’t have a bunch of offensive talent and rely on that to carry us because the world is catching up
Embiid might play for another country like Cameroon or France.
I'm not scared. The World is not going to be prepared for a Final Form Tyrese Maxey in 2028.
The world is too good for us to just show up. The answer is simple: a year round Team USA program. A real team, not a collection of mercenaries.
They probably gonna go home and relax with their family bro
2 top 5 players all time on the same team + one of the most UNSTOPPABLE players ever and they had close calls
The rest of the world is no joke and i have a feeling we'll feel it when the trio retired
To say that this 2024 US Olympic basketball team is the best in history is an abomination. 2008, 2012, 2014(FIBA), AND 2016 were all better team than this
The ad😅 Nani
Still can't believe Kobe is gone :(
Most probably USAB won't win next gold, but it will still be a top 5 team IMO
We'll be fine, USA has won the past 7 Olympics in basketball with Gold since 1996...
The best team was the 96 team. How are they overlooked. All those players were prime
Damn we already talking about what's next lol
At the SG, Ant-Man, DBook, Jaylen Brown, Donovan Mitchell
At the PG, Brunson, Fox, Maxey, Tyrese, Morant, Dejounte, Trae, Cade
DOWN! Without Lebron & KD, the USA will not have any advantage anymore, and no Height either to match up.
Psalm 23:4😊
This crazy roster needed crazy refereeing decisions to prevent themselves coming home with a bronze when the talent level slowly declines as the USA doesn’t dominate talent production as much I don’t think USA will be able to win off of pure talent as they have been and will acctually need some real coaching and basketball set plays
It will be okay
Next Olympics Team USA
PG: Ja Morant Backup Tyrese Maxey Backup Tyrese Haliburton
SG: Anthony Edwards Backup Devin Booker
SF: Jayson Tatum Backup Jaylen Brown
PF: Zion Williamson Backup Paolo Banchero Backup Jaren Jackson
C: Bam Adebayo Backup Karl Towns
This is not a terrible lineup...
I would consider adding Jalen Williams. Derrick Lively/Daniel Gafford might also be good pickups for a big man.
The USA really needs a lockdown defender big man because wembanyama and jokic will be big threats.
@@kitothekito915 Definitely.... Especially with Williams
Kerr started 2 Suns players... if they're so great, how come ANT and the Wolves swept them?
why did the start of the video acting like USA haven't been winning this whole time?
They just won so.., where else should they go but back in the NBA., Is there any other option?
If USA will not be sending its best of the best in every Olympic or FiBa ..they aint getting gold...No more lebron the guy who recruits player nxt.. idk if other superstars would play for team usa coz most of them surely will pass😢😢
WE won the Gold but the World won their respect. Bottom line.
Curry over Magic
MJ is him
Your reasoning makes no sense
