The Lakers Really Let LeBron Do This

  • LeBron is hurting the Lakers.
LeBron James is going to leave a lot of legacies. Most points in NBA history, longevity, the chosen one, but there’s another legacy that nearly transcends all his achievements. LeGM.
The Lakers hiring JJ Redick makes this LeBron’s 10th head coach in 21 years. Of the 10 coaches, 5 were first time NBA head coaches. **And that isn’t coincidental.
Here’s a chart of how many players and first round picks a team traded during a player’s career. Jordan had 35, Kobe had 56, Curry had 51. And then there’s LeBron, as of last season, 118. You might say that’s because they were only on one team, that they didn’t play as long, but the amount of roster turnover is like a 2k rebuild.
    LeGm is warranted.
Even his own son Bronny got caught in the web…
Regardless of whether you think JJ Redick can succeed or not, something is painfully obvious. LeBron has a problem that’s been holding him *and his teams back for years**. **And I’m going to go through the* 3 key pieces that will continue to hurt the entire NBA.
This is the one big thing we need to talk about this week. This isn’t news, this is truth however long it takes, *so get ready to dive in.*

Lebron is self centered egoistic stat padding flopping social media drama queen. He's fcking toxic af as a teammate for sure. So, how the fck does he make his teammates better? I know how, He makes his teammates better by trading them to with a better player.

    • @skymav6
      @skymav6 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      Video inaccuracies:
LeBron has never made a trade in his life regardless of how much influence you say.
LeBron has never disrespected any of his coaches in the media ESPECIALLY not Ty Lue. The coaches are fired but saying they are the scapegoats contradicts the title of the video.
Hiring coaches/trading players for stars is common in 100% of situations and is based on team success. No star's team has stood pat while the team has struggled.
The media controls no narratives. Fans who believe the narratives control the narratives. And If you don't like Lebron you'll believe a bad narrative about LeBron.
The whole Heat team wanted spoelstra fired when they started bad not just Lebron
Saying playing with Lebron causes too much pressure on coaches and teammates is true of every superstar in history so If that's toxic fhen being a championship team is toxic
David griffin signed Tristan Thompson and they don't go to 3 straight finals without him regardless of how you feel off the court about him.
Comparing Lebron's social media to Jordan having social media in his era is not reality
The most flagrant one of all is Saying "New media" is the ones with unproven statements, when they don't even speak on opinion, they use facts. Stephen a Smith is old media and he says things like "Lebron has no killer instinct" and it's used against him when in reality you could ask 100 people and they would all have a different definition for killer instinct. So it has no merit.
The Cavs made the trades in 2018 to protect THEMSELVES. They traded for young players and got rid of veterans.
The Jamal Murray example is fantasy. Cavs Lakers or Heat have never traded a player who became more than he projected to be because of LeBron. In fact you could argue Kyrie,Ad,Dwade ect are more respected now because they played wirh LeBron.
Using Kobe's usage rate and Lebron's to make a statement about being adaptable makes no sense. Every superstar needs pieces to fit. You said Kobe's team got "a little better" and his usage went down. Go back and look at the 2009-10 Laker team and say they are just "a little better" then the 06 team. This point also is contradicting. LeBron's usage rate is high but his consistency is always the same. So wouldn't that make him the most adaptable? No matter who he plays with he plays the same way?
Saying Lebron holds his team back and limits potential is like saying we shouldn't have oxygen in our lungs. Yah we have life but what if you catch a cold.
Anyways get your likes and engagement I'm not here to stop that. Just tryna inspire more creativity

Spoelstra is probably a top 5-10 coach of all time, Ty Lue is likely one of the top coaches in the NBA right now, and while Mike Brown wasn't the coach he is today back when he was in Cleveland, he's become a pretty good coach, and was a great defensive coach during his first stint in Cleveland.
I think there are plenty criticisms of Lebron, and a few of his other coaches, but he has had some great coaches during his best runs. Lakers just happen to be the worst ran franchise he's been a part of. It's been that way since Buss Sr. Died, but was trending even before that.

You are speaking facts. An NBA team, it has many moving parts. Great franchises don't win every season, great coaches make mistakes. I apply it to being a chef, if I am not the owner, I can't just run everything. Even a great chef may not see the big picture. In NBA, you have salary cap, injuries, all kinds of variables. LeBron just, the LeGM stuff has hurt his legacy. He is not beloved here in South Florida. We appreciate what he did, but Dwayne Wade is our guy. Humility and just being a hard worker goes a long way, part if why people love Kobe so much. I hae critiquing an NBA legend but he could show a lot more humility and stop with the whole narrative and crowning himself. Dude is great, but he is the most divisive athlete of my lifetime. Amy conversation about him is full of drama. You can't just evaluate his game without being labeled a Stan or a hater. And his Stans use some of the woret arguments. Just, yeah, Miami is Wade County, Lakers is Magic and Kobe's town, Cleveland burned his jersey at one point.

That Kobe-Lebron usage comparison was not it. When Kobe entered the league, he was not the number one option - Shaq was. Kobe was the second option and was called the sidekick of the team, which was one of the elements that wrecked the Shaq-Kobe duo. Shaq leaves so of course Kobe's usage rises because he becomes the first option on a struggling team that doesn't have a true second option. Once Kobe gets a true second option, Lebron and Kobe's usage is basically identical.
In Lebron's first stint in Cleveland, you can expect it to not be as high as you'd think for multiple reasons. Firstly, Lebron is new to the NBA and learning the game as well as developing his skills. Secondly, his usage would never rise to the level of Kobe because he is not a pure scorer like Kobe - Lebron is also a facilitator. This means, for Kobe, that as the availability of a second option rises and falls, his usage is more sensitive to this availability whilst Lebron's is not.
Simply, Lebron has always been a first option on mostly competitive teams. Kobe has not always been a first option. Lebron is always facilitating through his team as well as scoring - Kobe is a pure scorer. Therefore, you can't really measure the difference for Kobe and Lebron's usage throughout their careers in this way. Not to mention how different the NBA is at the beginning of Kobe's career verses the end of Lebron's career.

LBJ is best example of player empowerement and worst thing team can get.
If he stayed on the court only he would be better and probably had more championships.
This hurts his legacy more than anything.
In comparison Jordan was not happy with Krause decisions. So when Jerry drafted Kukoc and was speaking so highly of him, what did Pippen and Jordan do? They did not want to change GM, they did not want to fire Kukoc, they decided to show on court that Kukoc is not that good as front office praises him. Both in Olympics and in practice. Kukoc earned his respect, because he was hell of a player himself, but none of this would have happened if front office was Jordan's sidekicks..

There's gonna be an avalanche of truth once Bron retires. Right now the NBA is paying players to stay quiet about Bron because they've brainwashed enough people that will buy seats and merch and worship their failed idol. They won't allow anyone to say a single negative word about him on socials or in the media. That's the real reason he is staying around as long as possible, money, he needs the attention to feed his narcissism he's cultured since high school, and avoiding the inevitable crash of negativity once he hits the road.

Kobe and Lebron's usage rate is an example of how Lebron wants to do everything (fits the stat padding accusations) while Kobe wants to do what's necessary to win. When he has help he does the right thing to elevate the team to try to win instead of focusing on his individual stats. And when he has no help he goes berserk just to keep hia team's head above water. Yet Kobe was called a selfish ballhog when it's in fact more the other way around. Kobe's individual career stats would be video game-like if he played like Lebron.

  • @JonSmith-hk1bq

Oh jeez, this is silly. Three of those rookie coaches were their when signed his contract. One came in when he was in his second year in the league. Lebron's brought in one rookie head coach, and he turned out to be a solid NBA coach. The reason the Lakers keep bringing in rookie coaches is because they're cheap, not because Lebron wants inexperience coaches. Remember, Lebron wanted Lou. He'd probably still be coaching the team today if they'd paid him what he was worth in 2019.
The Cavs and Lakers front offices were terrible. That's why they kept turning over the roster. If they were competent, they would have had continuity. Really, the only big roster changes Lebron is responsible for is that last year in Cleveland, trading for Davis (which the Lakers happily did), and the mess from the Westbrook trade. Only the last of which was poorly considered. Simple fact is that in 2017, the Cavs got rid of Irving and brought in garbage requiring a retooling of less odious garbage for a run to the Finals. Simple fact is that Anthony Davis was worth more than that group of overhyped players. In the end, who really won the Davis trade? I think the answer is the Lakers. And Westbrook, well, there's really no excuse for that, and that mistake resulted in a good deal of the trades.
And this is also ignoring that the Lakers have ignored Lebron's desires quite frequently. One can simply point to the Kyrie trade that never happened for evidence of that. Or really just how long they held onto Westbrook even after it was obvious that wasn't going to work.
Truth be told, this is old news. I think Lebron is honestly out as far as trying to influence the Lakers. He's been publicly pointing to Davis for over a year now and saying that he's the one the Lakers should talk to in terms of the team's future.

Instead of the Lakers taking on some prospect that was probably more deserving than Bronny at 55 they used the pick to keep LeBum happy and staying with their franchise and most of all to draw attention, the revenue, the merchandise, the click bait all of it to be the team that has 1st ever father-son pairing in basketball because NBA is a business. Frankly speaking, since MJ retired, the NBA has been losing money. Subscriptions, TV viewership etc. are falling. Maybe because of LeBum's Dramas and cheating in the respected game of basketball and to the NBA org. Money is the no.1 goal of franchises, because the NBA is a business. It's just a bonus for them if they become champions. What good is a championship trophy to a team if their organization is losing money and facing bankruptcy?
