Use a car snow tire like a blizzak or equivalent. They are super soft in warm weather and you would still get much more life than a motorcycle tire. Plus with all the sipes it should channel the water out better. Thats one of the secrets for the local asphalt circle track racers that have to run a “stock” type tire.
I rented an F6B thee years ago out west, I drove it for four days and it’s a great machine. I could use it as everyday transportation or a long distance mount.
Brandon Salyer I was only commenting on the growth of their channel. I never asked for or expected any favor other than to continue to be entertained by their content. You really could have just kept that to yourself.
Snow & ice tires should be best for (darkside) they are made of softer compounds to grip . Summer sport performance tires are soft as well. High mileage fuel conserving tires are very hard and probably dangerous for motorcycles. Just my opinion. No experience with dark side riding. Heavy bikes do go through alot of bike tires though.
My Valkyrie was darkside for awhile and it was great no issues but because of the natural crown of the road it always pulled to the right the wide tire wanted to run flat. Could not spin the tire or slide the tire wet or dry. And the tire would last for a very long time. Never had an issue on city roads. Just went back to a motorcycle tire because I got tired of fighting the bike wanting to go right
I know the Dark Side guys will argue for the car tire all day long. That's their choice and they can do what they want. But I'd rather go with a tire design developed by a qualified engineer rather than take Bubba's opinion on the subject. Ride what you want, but if car tires were the best fit for motorcycles, why did the engineers design the bike tire?
If I understood your tire comments correctly I would think that while you may have car tire longevity, the square like shape of the tread on asphalt is not as good as the round shape of an MC specific tire. I would rather change the MC tire 8 times over 1 car tire than risk a trip on a helicopter because of tire savings. I flew in the helicopter after an accident and trust me I rather do a bike tour than an air tour to the trauma center. Also, just asking, could there be liability to the seller (dealer) if it knew a car tire is incorrectly being used? Just saying. Excellent review.
Love your video, minor problems though. First show full bike before throttling, and show every part, camera shakes too much. Just take care of these things, rest all is perfect. Again love your work, really appreciate it❤✌
Using Cruz control takes some time to get use too but with practice on setting accelerating and how to instantaneously disingage it by using brake will automatically slow the bike by pressing the brake. You can use the up or down buttons to maintain the flow of traffic can be used on a road like that or freeways, but not on curves don’t use Cruz controll especially driveing on a square tyre....
John enjoyed your videos so much like your info on car tire no you actually ride we are being ripped off by motorcycle tire companies no car mileage whatsoever
The ONLY way I ride a cruiser is with a car tire. Wet traction is ten times better, stopping is better. After going darkside....one will see that motorcycle tires are a scam.
Novel idea on the car tire in the rain…never have seen any problem in the rain! You do need to remember to grease your wheel every 8-10,000 miles…FYI from the Darkside!
You can use the power amp on the radio (go to settings) high/low the volume will make the radio louder once you past @45 mph. It’s amazing what Honda can do. Way better than H.D’s or others in the super lux bikes in performance realibility and cost as a grocery getter or total interstate bike I use mine as everyday driver and my other bikes I have to ride in moderation. Hope that helps some of you
I will NEVER run a heavy bike without a car tire on the back....saved my bacon a few times .....I run a Michelin Run Flat ...sweet performance and feel
yes, and I usually only turn it up to 4, I don't know how high it goes. I usually ride with the shield up. And, I don't have great hearing. Absolutely no need to upgrade the Indian audio. My Vision on the other hand , terrible sound quality. Great bike, sub par audio.
My advice Chuck, is get your bike...life is short. Your wife will come around...eventually. I've been riding for 46yrs on 4 different bikes and my boss is less then happy about it. But that's OK because I learned a long time ago it's alot easier to get forgiven than it is to get permission. Good luck and stay safe.
What if you slide out in a turn and have full coverage insurance. Would the insurance company have a "reason" not to cover the bike since you "modified" the bike with a non-approved car tire on back? That would be my concern.
@@kgF6BDZ28 It is all about how the bead or a car tire fits a car rim and not a motorcycle rim. The bead area is where the failure happens not the side wall of a car tire. Yes, you can get away with it most of the time, but it only takes that one time when the rim of the motorcycle fails to hold the car tire on and voila, you are skidding down the road just of the sake of a few dollars out of your pocket. Watch Fortnite's TH-cam channel, he explains why a car tire does not fit a motorcycle rim.
Yea square tyres also void warranties.. I have a square the on my Honda gold wing ‘05 1800 and would not recommend it due to poor handling around corners (feels like your falling off the bike),and highways cause streets are not normally flat but curved as your driving so it feels like your constantly riding on the corner of the tyre or bike tends to drive off the center of the road.
@@henryxavier3751 i spend alot of times in the corners seeing what the limit of my sportbike is, same story for my 80's yamaha. Fun to test your limits, never laid one down, fingers crossed. Jordan Erickson no worries am sure if you take it to Honda dealer they will say the same thing too, about how a square tyre fits on a motorcycle I don’t think the application fits you here either (lol).
Test rode one for giggles...felt like I was riding a Honda razz scooter with more pep. Lol I tour just as easy on many Harleys. Over 300k road miles on Harleys. Coast to coast several times.
Dang dude, this would have been a good day to lay off the review rides, you don't want to burn yourself out. I had trouble handling and liking this bike enough to keep for long, (had 2014) combination of higher center gravity, seat height and extra wide seat kept me from getting enough foot on the ground on non-regular surfaces, and I found the low transmission gearing irritating, but I suspect it was designed that way for a few of those that might want to pull trailers with it too. Not for me... bring on the next one!

I just found my dream bike, and it's the Goldwing F6B! 😍 I need to find one for cheap that I can finance 😕
We were darksiding our goldwing back in the 90s... granted, we had a sidecar but we still had a van tyre on the back of the wing :P

TOTALLY TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUTA MY MOUTH! WHO CARES ABOUT EXTRA MILEAGE!? ITS GOT SQUARE EDGES!!
As long as it’s D. O. T. Approved for highway use, matters not what it’s put on. Only liability would be speed rating

I believe these guys are running run flat radials that are made to flex and hold the road with more rubber contact. Not the old belted regular tires
