    you made incompatible choices. Kumpir is beautiful.
    Sausage with sauce, cabbage, corn, jalapeno, green olives, cheddar, butter, ketchup, mayonnaise are my favourites.

      Yes they are very easy to find. They are close to the Grand Mecidiye Mosque (Ortaköy Mosque). Enjoy!!

    Stay away from Ortaköy unless you want to eat at my favourite restaurant Banyan, which has quite nice Asian fusion food, and a fantastic view of the Bosphorus and the first bridge. Kumpir is a baked potato, and paying 5 USD for it is outrageous in a city where university educated people earn 400-600 USD a month. There is kumpir (and many other kinds of street food) to be had in other, less touristy areas of Istanbul! Try Eminönu, Üsküdar and Bakırköy, for example.

      Ortaköy was very beautiful to see, but you're right it's extremely touristy. The kumpir is very expensive for what it is, but we wanted to try it while we were in the area ;) thanks for your comment!

    It is necessary not to put so many different materials in the kumpir. I think the flavor is lost.

      That's possible, we went a little crazy on the toppings!!

    Nice Vlog but you make the fall that you let take everything inside … normaly you make 4-5 toppings and mixed than easyer with the hot cheesy potato ;)

      That makes more sense 😉 we just couldn't resist getting all the toppings!!

    All these kumpir stalls represent a football club and you choose for Trabzonspor which is a football club in Trabzon. Was that the reason you visited Trabzon after Istanbul or is that pure coincidence? : )

      Funnily enough that was pure coincidence! It wasn't until after when we looked back at the video that we realized which one we had picked 😄 good eye!!

    I’m with you, Chris - the potato skins are actually my favourite part of the potato, LOL. Glad you tried but unfortunately it sounded underwhelming compared to all your other Turkish eats!

    • @HungryTwoTravel
      @HungryTwoTravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! So glad you agree, the skin is always so good, especially if you slather it with some butter, yum!!

    Weird toppings... always go for the hot mix...beans,meat,etc....

    The skin of the potato is the best part tho..?

      Have you ever had a baked potato in the oven?! Once you've eaten the inside, cover it with butter, best part ;)
