    My buddy and ex band member ..Called me up and told me he was opening for some band called Crimson Gory . That they were good . So I went to a small club in Baltimore MD and was blown away .. They were actually selling the first album at the venue . Couldn't buy it in the stores . The year was 1990 .. My buddy would later go unto to be the bass player for Iced Earth as a side note

    Such a good band! I got to see these guys on the Transcendence tour, they got NO promotion. I found out about the show 3 hours before they went on. Only 40 people there. It must have sucked for them that so few were there; but, it was great for me, it was like getting a private show.

    About the second drummer: at that time their singer was Todd La Torre, in this concert they had the opportunity to have their original singer, Midnight, and so La Torre, only for this date, played the second drums together with their drummer.
    It seems to me a very cool thing, a way to welcome the original singer back only for this date without excluding the current one.

    • @danielszabo8724
      @danielszabo8724 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      That's not correct, Todd came on board in 2010 after the late n great Matt LaPorte introduced him to the band prior to the Midnight memorial show at ProgPower X in 2009 where Todd performed as a guest. The guy playing percussion parts here is Jesse Rojas who's been a touring drummer in the band from around 2000 in various stints up until 2006-07.

      I saw that you put the immense Geoff Tate in the list...but Queensryche weren't Geoff Tate alone: the remaining four were as necessary to their art as he was.

    I wonder the reason why they here performed with two drummers (that's something I have seen just twice in my quite long gig attendance list, and both of them were James Brown's concerts: we all know James Brown wasn't particularly....ehm, humble....).
    I saw Crimson Glory on stage back in their glory days, in Arnhem, the Netherlands, the night just b4 1989 Eindhoven's Dynamo Open Air festival, at the end of may. They performed with a single drummer and it was absolutely perfect, so I wonder what was their need for a second one.

      The second drummer was there because he was their singer at that time. Midnight was there as a reunion, and the 2nd singer was a long time drummer in bands who later became a vocalist.

      @@DNeu1083 Probably, as he's a drummer as well as a vocalist.
