@@ensoniq2klol right. It’d be cool to play like that for people, but I can’t go a couple days without my own bed. Nvm people touring for weeks or months.
I would like to get big enough in a band to where we can tour, but after watching some POV videos from other bands and artists it seems like an extremely tiring non-stop work career to get into. Plus, I'm not quite sure how I feel about millions of people knowing all the basic things about me. Hate when random people approach me in public and want to have a conversation. I'm not a big conversationalist
I didn't know you're 5 years sober! What a great feat! I'm about 140 days in. I like how it all settles in and you discover that you actually didn't need all of that stuff. Great video, love the first person perspective. You're so humble 😊
Im like 7 years clean from IV use, and I miss it more now than I did then. Lots of life circumstances. You wouldnt think that'd be the case but it is for me.
@@nwerd7584hey, congrats on your 7 years. I know that the urge doesn't go away completely, just gets quieter. You know better to shut it down instantly. Proud of you man, keep going strong - you can do it.
Congrats on the clean time! You're almost past the toughest part, at least for me when I was getting clean. I've got over a decade now and I promise you it's worth it and you're worth it!
I got to tell you from personal experience, touring as a pain! Especially when you are your own road crew and don't have anybody to help you pack and move everything! LOL Exhausting for sure, but SOOO worth it!
Even in town, venue to venue is tiring. It's basically an 8 hour shift after you add in load from home, set up, soundcheck, play time, tear down, load up and unload at home again. You start at 7 and end around 3....then you can't get to sleep until 4. lol. Fun stuff.
Man what a very cool gig! The fact that you had a freaking castle as a backstage is incredible. You're living the dream BERNTH. So glad I subbed to you so many years ago when you were just putting out instructional videos in your home studio. I'm living vicariously through you! Keep it up! |m|
Thanks you Dear Bernth!!! You show the dreams of 100% bedroom musicians of the world))) I wish i could to live like you) Thanks you and wish you all the best!
I can relate. I was called a "snob" or "antisocial" for not partying after gigs. Kinda surprising, because I thought I was there to play guitar and entertain. Then I had to listen to shmucks complain that they haven't got any money left while my pockets are full. And that too caused resentment...like I was somehow making more.
i had no idea that you are with the band, so I was absolutely amazed when I recognized you on stage at Burg Clam! I like the band, although I prefer metal, so your appearence made the show much more enjoyable for me :D bit sad that I couldn't watch you in full metal mode, but you took every opportunity to make an epic performance whenever it was time to shred!
Loving the insight into how performing on stage works. I've only done it once, but with violin and it was the experience, but I was anxious back then. now this is helpful for when I return to stages again but with an electric guitar. thanks for this as it's very helful.
okay yeah. I am definitely... believe it or not, I even had a dream I was on a stage in front of thousands... ty Bernth, you are very inspirational and I thoroughly believe u will shred your name to the top. even if I never find that dream true, just the motivation you have given me to actually start taking the guitar seriously is enough to satisfy me.
It's nice having gotten older so I can just enjoy watching this footage instead of being secretly jealous that it's not me. Very cool seeing the routine and ofc. good playing hehe.
Spent 4 years touring as a guitarist in my 20s. Best time of my life. Glad I was able to do something I loved when I was young. Thanks for such an awesome video!
i wish i could someday with lots of practice play like you, i saw this after maybe a month of starting to play and youve become a big inspiration for me this day
The whole experience looks like a PITA so for the first time ever you made me glad I'm a crappy guitar player no one wants to hear! Fantastic playing as always, TY Bernth!
Man, I LOVE these behind-the-scenes vids. What a long build up, waiting to go on stage. I suppose having your laptop and doing some work while waiting is a good distraction. Back in the day, that time was used to consume....stuff. 🫣 Nowadays, musicians have so many irons in the fire, there isn't time to party and get into trouble...not like there used to be!
Hi, Bernth ! This is a great video. I was a musician in the early1970's and things changed quite a bit. You're doing great and all the talk about the "young" generation, we were young too and they told the same Sh.t about us !
I bought a cheap Ibanez Gio for playing outside this summer. It was only $200 but actually plays pretty decently, but now I feel bad about using it to practice outside... What do you guys think? IS that an OK thing to do to a $200 Gio? What is the max temperature and humidity range that such an instrument deserves to be tortured with?
It's poly finish so it shouldn't crack. Try not to get the wood soaked that could warp it, maybe consider finishing the fretboard if you are going to be in the rain a lot and making the electronics cavity more water proof, some rubber around the pickguard should do it. Don't leave it out in the direct sun for too long. And dry it after it gets wet. Should be fine.
Awsome dude, i've learned so much from you ! i still got your Shred cup somewhere,, as much i love partying it is in my way to develope an awsome tactic on the guitar like you. i am 3 months sober now so i can hopefully 1 day play live like you !
Hey BERNTH, I wonder how you film these amazing POV vlog videos, have you ever done a video about this? Thanks for making this video btw, I really enjoyed!❤❤
Congratulations on the sobriety 🎉. I know the struggle. The longest I’ve made it is 2 years. First job in 7 years and one Christmas party later I’m back to drinking. That was a great performance though. Regardless of skill away from the stage it takes a lot to perform like that ❤. Keep it up and hopefully I’ll see you one day 😊
Awesome video!you inspired me to pick my 2402 up and play it,today!Just for the sake of knowledge:can I ask you how the roasted maple neck reacts to all these climate conditions while on the road?how does it keep up with all the wheater changes?do you need to adjust the truss rod frequently?
The bus seems cramped. Are the berths claustrophobic at all? Also, I play the same Duesenberg as your producer, the Paloma; it’s such an amazing all around guitar. Seemed like a great show… congratulations!🎉🎈🎊
Since childhood, for some reason, I decided not to drink alcohol on principle. At first, my peers invited me to join in the drinking parties, but after a while they got used to the fact that I don’t drink. On the contrary, they began to respect me and even consider me a mascot of the company (because the one sober person periodically helps out a whole company of drunks :) ).
