    Finally we can see what Bitmain has been hiding from us!

    I love that there’s people out there willing to immediately tear something down, so those like myself don’t break things in a half attempt to do so…if we were able to scrap together the funds to nab one 😅

    So the big question is, will the Monroe team do something against it ? Do you know something.

      Is a randomxV2 but not 100% sure what it will do yet as this is a CPU could reduce the hash a bit and boost ryzen cpu hash.

    • @Dipper13
      @Dipper13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But why would they?

    • @RabidMining
      @RabidMining  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Dipper13 randomx is the result of bitmains last xmr miner the x3 which they forked away from.

    • @ahelsitaev
      @ahelsitaev ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They won't, as this clearly no ASIC and not 10x or higher more efficient than any other CPUs out there.
      So mining competition is still fair and square for anyone, unlike last time with the old mining algo

    I clicked on this to view it, my phone locked up and I had to hit play to get it going, too much awesome for the interwebs🎉

    RM very nice to see this, my only concern is if the xmr Devs will release any updates to their algo, as for the miner 18 CPUs each hashing at 12kS, and RISC chips don’t have hyper threads so it’s 64 codes with 64 threads, RISC CPUs are much slower than normal CPU so it takes allot more cores to get to similar performances with allot less cores at the same Gh speeds.

      Yup they are doing it efficiently, though not sure how much bitmain costs are to build these.

      @@RabidMining well RISC chips are cheap and ram are cheap but their RND much cost them some allot.

    Cool! I was wondering.

    The RISC-V architecture is very young still, so even with the XMR algo change, i think there's still huge room for improvement in the future

    Regardless if there is an XMR fork, what project do you think this thing will be adapted for, and target next?

    • @Waeve-w2w
      @Waeve-w2w ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There will not be an XMR fork it's not an ASIC in any aspect, just a Binche of CPU glued together

    Second comment from me on this video but i wonder if you can flash linux on it to use it as an actual 1152 core PC , that would be hella fun

      Lol dunno

      @mehmeh1999 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be extremely impractical and unstable. But you can try.

      What you should look into is a headless version of linux.

    The board says it's v3.2 lol
    These things things have been mining on XMR since a while no doubt lol
    I can't wait for the XMR devs to change RandomX and make these overpriced machines obsolete 🔥🚀

      @compwiz00 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Why would they? It's not an asic, it's only slightly more efficient than a ryzen 3950x.

    i would love to dump that eMMC right next to the SoC... maybe there will be a few hashboards around in a few years.

    it's the beginning the end cpu mining

    • @pequalsnp
      @pequalsnp ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Why would it be the end of cpu mining when this thing IS itself a CPU miner? It's just a bunch of RISC-V cpus inside! Each of those RISC-V cpus is less performant than modern x86, so Bitmain makes up for that by just adding a bunch of... CPUs!

    • @paullamb1100
      @paullamb1100 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pequalsnp Long-term, the energy and space efficiencies of this strategy will mean that these types of systems can be deployed at scale in commercial mining facilities, which will drive up the difficulty and out compete the smaller players. The main thing this particular iteration has going against it at the moment is that it only mines XMR, leaving room for profitability on smaller CPU coins. I doubt that limitation will remain for long, though.
