This is one of the most hilarious scenes in the show, but also the most mind-boggling. Tom tells Ravenhead outright that he thinks this whole meeting is bullshit, and offers him every out imaginable for his answers - it's not just a softball, it's a fucking feather duster. And yet Ravenhead just brazenly admits to... everything? Maybe it's like that scene in The Big Short - "he's not confessing, he's bragging." Thinks he's untouchable. Still though, sheesh.
Like the other guy said, Tucker Carlson moment. He knows he’s too big to fail, if they fire him, he just goes independent or finds an even less scrupulous network, while the original network suffers a massive loss of audience especially due to the outrage over them being fired.
The sheer incredulity of this scene, ravenhead's answers and tom trying to inject humor to not make it awkward is insane. My absolute favourite scene in succession.

Is that actually true? The office always struck me as completely devoid of real world politics, which is why I never really took interest. Succession however is full of politics and at it's core is even a satire of Rupert murdochs life.
@@Potatotenkopf Yeah actually. Around season 5 Michael, the goofy boss, quits the office and sets up his own paper company to compete with them.
