I think the sooner that people realize that celebrities don't really give a hoot about their fans, the fans will wake up and move on to more productive activities.
When I first watched two of these vlogs with the stars who did come over to their screaming fans, I was in awe that they did it. Especially in today's climate. Very risky. So I say that was great of them if they chose to do so, and I don't blame or think less of the one's who don't do so. Glad you ventured out for it and got some cool folks on your vlog showing you some kindness, in this climate!
Thanks for taking us along! I think some of the older celebrities may feel that while they would like to enjoy the festival, their fan interaction days are over 😆
Hi Steve. Happy New Year!🎉🎊🥳 It's a shame that these so called celebrities don't realize who made them celebrities, their fans! Timothée Chalamet is a good kid. I think he's a great actor. Good to know that he cares about his fans. Thanks, Steve. This was fun!❤❤
I saw Sharon Stone at il Pastaio in Beverly Hills about a year ago. I approached her, and told her how much I’ve enjoyed her films, and she is truly one of the last REAL movie stars. She was very nice, appreciative, and even took a selfie with me……true class!!
Celebrities are not always socially adept and some are in fact socially awkward, so the onus is on their handlers to make them aware of the optics regarding not paying attention to the people who helped make them famous. The ones like Stanley Tucci and Adrien Brody who did sign autographs and greet the fans are just more socially aware and comfortable in their own skin most likely and are not so into themselves.
Very true. Celebs tend to follow the lead of their handlers because everything has been mapped out to the minute and arrivals are also timed so you don’t want to “step” on another star’s arrival and slow down the pace. Theres choreography behind the scenes that most people don’t see or appreciate at red carpets.
This really showcases the modern security apparatus around events. You showed the PSPD drone team and the counter-sniper team, they were also at the Pride parade and the Christmas parade we were both at, but I won’t reveal those locations publicly but will share sometime in person if you’re interested. I’d imagine the protection agents (wrongly called bodyguards by most) are with Gavin de Becker & Associates. He has a fascinating personal story you might want to check out, how he went from being Liz Taylor and Richard Burton’s personal assistant to running the biggest personal security company in Hollywood. He also handles Jeff Bezos’ security and many other high profile folks.
That’s interesting that you talk about the choreography of it all. I noticed that and was wondering about that myself. Every time a celebrity would come over to the crowd as soon as the next celebrity showed up the first celebrity would leave. I remember thinking it almost seem choreographed. 😄
You also have to consider that many of these celebrities have stalkers. Some even get death threats. Law enforcement often tell their people to tell their clients not to interact with the general public too much for feat that something terrible might happen. That's a shame but then these celebrities have to protect themselves. Just enjoy them in whatever medium they're in and watch their movies or attend their plays, etc.
That was so cool! What a shame the stars don't at least smile and wave, even if from across the street to acknowledge the people who helped make them stars. I have a question. Those incredibly tall skinny palm trees--do they sway wildly and bend a lot if you get a strong wind there? Palm Springs sure looks like a beautiful place to live.
Hi Steve...these celebrities I recognized and they are friendly..some celebrities don't sign autographs or take selfies ...maybe they are shy.....LoL......well it's fun to see them anyways I'm sure......have a nice weekend..... Deborah 🇨🇦
Glad you went Steve. The way news was reporting made it sound like the general public would not be able to get close. On a side note, I hope the lady that was near you that kept yelling it's for my daughter really was getting it for her daughter and not eBay. lol
I used to manage a hotel that had quite a few celebrities come through. They would sit in my office with me, waiting for their car. A few celebs did go out to the lobby and sign autographs and take photos. I saw that at some point they of course would leave to go do their business and people would say that there were being rude for leaving. So I found that they were damned if they did and dammed if they didn’t.
A story I'll always remember is that of Canadian hockey player Paul Henderson. (He scored the late game winning goal in the 1972 Summit Series making him a national hero. He was also a devout Christian.) He was eating at a diner with his family when this obnoxious dolt just sticks a paper of some sort in his face asking for an autograph. When he told the story to a reporter, he was noticeably upset, saying, "I'm with my family." Stepping outside my body and reading this post and yours so to speak, in a situation like this it's probably best to avoid eye contact and other niceties until any and all interactions occur on your terms and with your consent. It's not the fans per se, it's the soul violators who think they can abuse you (like their spouses.)
I wouldn't be too harsh. Imagine if you couldn't even go to a movie without a crowd of people screaming at you. I bet the novelty wears off quickly. And some of the ones who did take the time have reputations as absolute nightmares.
Viewed all your videos, excellent vivid steady camera🎥👍 angles, so brave and persistent thanks for sharing your hard fun work. See if next time wear a slight tuxedo and interview the actors get some to sign something for souvenir sakes, just saying. The only celebrity experience to share was when my husband worked as a Computer Sales Associate at the Palo Alto electronics store Fry's Electronics years ago, Robin Williams⭐ walked into the store to buy some items. Robin now deceased was an Actor living in Northern California at the time. Love all his movies. In my university years, I attended UCR in Riverside, had a lawyer friend at the time she invited me to a dance night club in Palm Springs, it was still the disco years but at the end of it, it was New Years Eve to celebrate and we were later invited by the band to an after club party. Just one of my memories of college life partying dance club hoping, just loved the 🎶music and dancing so much fun Disco and Rock times.🙂
The most down to earth celebrity I have ever seen that really appreciates her fan base that will take selfies and autographs as Sophia Loren she is one of the most gracious people you would ever wanna meet. She don’t care where she’s at.how busy she is if she sees her fans she will take the time to acknowledge them and that’s why I always love and appreciate her just saying❤
Watched the video in which both Zoe Saldana and Sharon Stone stopped to wave at the fans. Now if this last video are the "latecomers" as Timothee Chalomet was 30 minutes late, I think that that was more than a respectful greeting - not a snubbing at all. Sharon particularly looked beautiful and you got some great shots of both of them.
The thumbnail originally had stated celebrities "snubbed" fans but now says "ignored". Regardless using "snub", "ignored" or "didn't make time", I still think both Zoe and Sharon acted respectfully.
I think celebreties are .leery of approaching people...you never know what could happen..or who is in the crowd...its a matter of safety and not so much as snubbing your fans..although there is nothing wrong with waving...towards them
I’m on the fence about this. I really appreciate the folks who came over to interact with fans. But also, I don’t know if a lot of the “fans” were really fans, or just people grabbing autographs to sell. The best interactions were the handshakes and selfies. At any rate, while celebrities should appreciate the fans who support their work, facing a row of people screaming and thrusting things in your face has to be pretty awful. I’d be having a panic attack. So I think the celebrities who just turned, waved, blew kisses and acknowledged the fans are just fine. That said, it’s distinctly ungracious for a celebrity to give a brief hand wave over the shoulder as they walk away, never once looking at the crowd they’re supposedly waving to.
Many older actresses like Sharon Stone and Isabella Rossellini have dealt with crazed stalkers over the years. They're often advised to stay away from smaller venue crowds such as this. It didn't look like security was top-notch there to be honest, at least not like the Golden Globes or even the Emmys has.
Not in to celebrities heck it's been least 13 years since i been to a movie ticket prices are out of my budget i mean $946 a month doesn't go anywhere at all. Besides would rather meet Steve and Jim that would be more fun and enjoyable time.❤
Maybe society should stop idolizing these people. At the end of the day they're just people, and they're just entertainers. Not sure what the big deal is. Especially given you see their true character by not interacting with people who keep them relevant.
STEVE I DON'T GO TO MOVIES ANYMORE, MY LAST WAS THE 1992, THE BODYGUARD STARRING WHITNEY HOUSTON AND, KEVIN COSTNER, I DON'T HAVE ANY DESIRE TO SPEND MY MONEY, AND THESE CELEBRITIES ACT LIKE THEY ARE GOD'S GIFT, IF IT WASN'T FOR THE PUBLIC, THEY WOULDN'T BE WHERE THEY ARE TODAY. PEOPLE SHOULD REALIZE YOUR LIFE IS JUST AS MUCH IMPORTANT AS THERES. IF FILMGOERS WANTS TO BE IGNORED AND SNUBBED MORE POWER TO YOU, THEN DON'T COMPLAIN, PERIOD!
I just watched Airplane II starring Sonny Bono as the terrorist yesterday! Very cool historical footnote that he founded the festival! Those snooty celebs, not so much...
I forgot that he was in that. Thank you for the reminder. I will have to go back and watch it. And yes, I talked about Sunny Bono starting the film festival in this video. You probably didn’t get that far. 😄👍
I lost a tremendous amount of respect for a lot of them this year during the election. Like we really care what they think. Americans can think for themselves and they did.
All that yelling, screaming, etc. They not dealing 😅 I met a few warm hearted celebrities. But many are something else.🙄 Plus they are rushed around and can't be to careful. I hope your eardrums are ok Steve!!!
They only show up because they have are being given a silly trophy and to bot show up would be bad form. You girls need to realize that PS is not Cannes.😂
I think the sooner that people realize that celebrities don't really give a hoot about their fans, the fans will wake up and move on to more productive activities.
That isn't gonna happen, we stoopid.
Amen! LOL
What more productive activities? 😂
Perhaps if the actor was told that the panel voting for them was in the crowd at a meet and greet?
Some do. They’re the most liked.
Not a celebrity follower. Haven’t gone to a movie in years. Much more impressed to meet Steve!
Movies have sound now. 😂

I did not see any celebrities in your video but enjoyed your commentary.
Personally I don’t care for any of them! Not like the good old days! Take care Steve!! You were the biggest celebrity there in my book!! 🌟😎💥
Lol 😎👍
That's true. He has more class in his pinky finger then the Hollywood snobs.
You mean like Velma Banky, Ramon Navarro, Thelma Todd?
Thanks for taking us along!

It was so nice to see the celebrities that did come to greet their fans.
All the best have a great weekend Happy New Year 👉👉👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉

I agree with most here. A majority of celebrities are obnoxious and think they are above the little people. I’ve worked around many!
Steve is naming names. 😮 The fans can show their disapproval by not going to their movies. 😖
I'll have to watch a few of these 🎉
Some of them are Z list celebrities Patrick in Ireland
When we start realizing this people just parrot the words of someone else and need continual praise for doing that, it’s almost sad.
