I am a current resident of the Navigation Center, it’s the only shelter/transitional housing that allows not just dogs but cats, which I have two. After fleeing a domestic violent relationship and being permanently disabled, all I had were a few clothes and my two kitties. I spent almost 10 months staying in parks, on the streets, etc before finding first the PS Center to get on wait list for the navigation center. It’s very comfortable here, we have a nice cafeteria that provides 3 meals a day, a computer room to help with resume building and job search. All the pods have a shower, toilet and sink, some also have kitchenettes and family units have a second room. We can do our laundry here as well. There is a curfew and rules, but I feel safe for the first time in almost a year. All residents see their case manager on a weekly basis to work on goals towards getting permanent housing. We are rushed and are able to work at own pace to reduce anxiety and additional stress. After months of having no “bed”, irregular meals, I feel like I’m at the Ritz. I am grateful to the City for building this place.

I personally love it, the more political or controversial the better. I also love a clean city so when they can combine the two, so much the better... Every city should have a dedicated blank space for artists to go nuts on just like this...

I just had surgery on one eye (the other side has a cataract) and have been having fun doing back and forth blink comparisons between eyes. When you look at white things you'll notice a pure white instead of a dingy yellowish white 16:23. Also do a blink comparison when looking at the sky...big difference. I got the PanOptix lense and although expensive, they're awesome.

What a great idea to create a graffiti park to set aside that area for legal painting plus a task force for illegal tagging! If it is removed immediately, it's almost not worth doing. Probably cameras cut down a lot of the tagging. I'm guessing you know more about Palm Springs than most residents. Up in the high desert about 14 miles from town on a dirt road, one of the abandoned cabins near me was tagged. It took locals less than a week to paint over it and the repaint was kinda artistic.

I believe the point being made is that the fires are at least in part due to climate change. The production of meat and dairy is a major source of greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change.

Hey Steve cool video ! If that neckface piece was on canvas it would be worth thousands of dollars. I have a few of his prints and they were not cheap. He’s a famous artist in the skating community.

To me it makes it look trashy. Plan springs is always nice and clean.

Some graffiti can indeed be quite artful and esthetically pleasing, but as with anything else: too much of it gets annoying and can become something of a burden. Btw, so envious of you rn! - all these sunny and colorful images!! Where I live, we've been doing without any sunshine for a long while now! As always, thanks for the video, Steve!

It's good they have somewhere for graffiti art. I know they have something downtown. Plain walls that can be painted. I think you have to apply or ask to use them. Thank you for your wonderful video. I enjoy them. You and Jim take care.

I love graffiti art! When I was in sixth grade, I was safety patrol leader at Cathedral city elementary school. My main. “job” was to alert the office for any graffiti. This included the boys bathroom. Lol! I had to have a teacher stand guard when I went into the bathroom. I have always loved graffiti art. I have dabbled in it, in the past, so, I am really interested in the park. I might have to leave my mark, when I come visit next time.🤣❤️ (I will look into the rules and regulations, of course)

I love graffiti art. I have a whole album of it on my Pinterest. But I can't believe they tore down the Palm Springs Mall!!! Used to go there all the time as a kid.

Other communities that have tried graffiti parks noticed spillover graffiti into neighboring areas, with artists tagging mailoxes, power poles, bridges, trucks.

I love that idea, I have always said they need to allow these artists a venue. Our city is always ready to arrest artists and fine property owners with graffiti. It just makes sense to make open air galleries where they can be creative! I love flamingos too, I put out 25 sets in my garden in the summer, I have theme ones for holidays. So much fun!

I went to Walmart yesterday and I got regular Gatorade sugar. That’s what I like for 799 versus Publix which was 9.99 for a six pack of both places
